Past Hunt

Lynca walked towards Julien and the militia.

"What did you do to them, Detno?"

Julien was on his guard. Lynca smiled faintly.

"Still the same Julien I see. I put them to sleep. You should know the garden here is full of sleeping agents."

Julien's face hardened.

"I gave them potions to counter that. They'd still have half a day for the effects to wear off. Try again, Detno, for I'm not in a gaming mood."

Lynca winced at how harsh Julien was being. To her, he had been the sweet and kind boy that she liked. Now, he was harsh and angered.

She revealed a smile and said, "I took Drake's offer after you left."

Julien immediately grabbed a vial from one of the belts. It was sapphire blue in color.

Lynca revealed a face of surprise.

"What? I've done nothing to you, nor do I want to. What happened to make you this violent?"

Lynca's voice revealed shock and no small amount of fear. Julien's revealed a complete hate and determination in response.

"You turned, firstly. Second, you let Drake's obsession go wild. Lastly, vampires have become monsters to me." He said in a cold, emotionless tone.

Lynca's head felt like it was spinning. Julien rejected his family? Why? What happened?

"By the decree of Julien Dracul, son of Edgar Belm, I sentence the vampires of this castle to their destruction or their imprisonment. Whichever one they choose."

Julien paused, watching Lynca's face.

"Lynca Detno, as a vampire of Drake Drakul's court, you are sentenced to imprisonment until further action can be made. Come quietly or be destroyed."

Lynca's eyes watered, and she sniffled. She raised her hands, surrendering completely. Julien grabbed a different vial, this time from behind his back. It was a bright leafy green color.

"Paralysis potion. You cannot move for five hours after you touch the contents. Evrn against the vampires, the effects will stay the same."

Julien walked over the Lynca, opened the vial and poured a small amount onto her hands.

She stiffened at once, becoming unable to move. At the same time, the militia began to stir.

"You two, guard her." Julien said, pointing at the chosen militia.

"Don't let her speak. If four hours pass and we don't return, leave her and retreat."

As he spoke, a stream of tears flowed from Lynca's eyes.

'It seems she still somewhat cares.'
