Guhin

In a time when magic coursed through the veins of the world, before the mechanical heartbeat of technology began, there existed a realm of kings and queens, of sorcery and grand beasts. This is where our tale unfolds, in the ancient, mystical continent of Valherya. Here, a young man wanders, a solitary figure amidst the vast, rocky plains. His past is a blank canvas, his memory a closed book. His only clues to his identity: the myriad scars that mark his body and a golden amulet, hanging heavily around his neck, whispering secrets he cannot grasp. Beside him always is Fukujin, a crow of enigmatic origin, whose watchful eyes have observed him since the moment he awoke in this unknown land. This crow, neither entirely ordinary nor wholly magical, has become his sole companion in a journey shrouded in mystery. Together, they seek the truth of his past, navigating a world where every step could be a revelation or a trap. But their quest is shadowed by danger. A relentless band of hunters, members of a shadowy organization, are on his trail. These hunters, with motives as obscure as his own identity, seem desperate to silence him, to erase him from the pages of history. Who is this young man lost in a world he does not remember? Why does his very existence threaten forces both seen and unseen? As his journey unfolds, so too will the secrets of Valherya, where every whisper in the wind and rustle in the shadows tells a story. Dive into a world where the line between myth and reality blurs, where every step is a dance with destiny, and where the truth might be stranger than any forgotten memory. The relentless pursuit of one's true self, but this is not just a quest for identity; it's a journey into the heart of magic itself.

Adrenaline Addict

As he faced the hovering swords behind the old man, Bokun had channeled the adrenaline coursing through his veins and puffed out his chest.A bone-chilling battle cry had sliced through the tension! Bokun had taken the initiative, charging towards the old man who, with a single wave of his hand, sent his swords flying towards him.The image of the incoming blades was mirrored in Bokun's eyes. Death, once again, had approached him. But this time, it brought a smile to his face. The secret technique he had been employing, "Berserker," allowed him to convert his emotions into pure adrenaline. All his abilities had scaled in proportion to the intensity of his current emotions. His muscles had expanded, pushing past their limits. Just as the blades were about to slice through his flesh, Bokun planted his foot firmly on the ground, using his momentum to swing his greatsword wildly. He parried most of the incoming swords with his frenzied swings, but some still managed to pierce his arm and leg. As the old man shifted his gaze to his right, he saw Guhin charging straight at him. With a swift flick of his finger, he shaped the falling rain into a sword, clenched in his palm. He thrust it forward, attempting to halt Guhin in his tracks. The sword had been mere inches from impaling him when Guhin tilted his head to the side at the last possible moment. He closed in alongside the sharp edge of the sword, managing to grab the old man's elegant robes with a firm grip. He then slammed the old man over his head and into the ground! The old man found himself staring at the ashen clouds in the sky, as Bokun's greatsword appeared in his sight, poised to cleave him in half! But just as he saw the steel blade descending, he was dragged away by his robes and slammed into the ground once again.

BOKUN: "HEY, KEEP HIM STILL WILL YA!"

Guhin continued to slam him onto the ground until the fabric of the robes he was holding ripped and tore with the last vicious slam.

Fuming with anger, the old man rose and fixed his bloodthirsty gaze on both of them. The humiliation he had just endured blinded him with rage, and without hesitation, he charged right at them! However, the moment he got within range, Guhin threw the torn-off robes to obstruct his line of sight and stepped in with a flurry of accelerating punches.

Bokun rushed in as well, but before he could land a decent strike with his greatsword, Guhin had already kicked the old man far off into the distance, crashing through the remnants of a once blooming forest.

BOKUN: You little shit! Let me get a piece of him. You're not fighting alone here.

GUHIN: It's not over yet, get ready.

A few drops of rain began to fall from the cloud, as another storm descended onto the mountain lands. The entire area trembled. Cracks spread across the surface where the old man had just crashed. They watched him rise from the rubble and dust himself off.

OLD MAN: My apologies, it seems I have given you the idea that you can make it out of here alive. That won't happen again.

Startled by his deep voice so close by, they realized the old man's afterimage in the distance had disappeared. He was already standing behind them. The old man's stern expression had returned; his momentary loss of focus was just that - momentary. Both Guhin and Bokun pivoted towards him, launching a head-on attack.

Their poor coordination hindered each other with every strike. Guhin was forced to dodge Bokun's uncalculated swings with his greatsword. He kept stepping in front of Bokun's feet, disrupting his footwork and effective use of his sword skills.

GUHIN: Shit.

BOKUN: Dammit.

Effortlessly deflecting the wild, uncoordinated slashes mixed with punches and kicks, the old man "flowed" them aside. He formed a vast array of swords around himself. With a swift flick of his wrist, he condensed some of the rain into a wave of water, and with the other, he sent his newly formed weapons.

The wave of water had blasted them off their feet! As both of them were still airborne, Guhin almost instantly recovered by maneuvering his body. During his airborne acrobatics, he raised his arms towards the sky and slammed the ground with both of his fists.

Pieces of the earth, the size of large boulders, emerged from the ground to shield them both from the incoming weapons. They couldn't pierce the dense structure of stone, and all of them were stopped halfway through.

Before they could sink in any deeper, Guhin dashed forward and shattered the boulders completely! The weapons that had been stuck in them were blown away, as Guhin tried to catch the old man off guard amidst the rubble of the boulders...

Despite his surprise attack, the old man easily grabbed Guhin's face and pushed him down to the ground...

OLD MAN: Sit.

The force pushing him to the ground was too strong. The only thing Guhin could do was grab the old man's wrist and wrap his legs around his arm, while Bokun prepared himself for a vicious overhand strike with his sword. But as he was about to release his swing, the old man lifted Guhin and held him in front of the incoming greatsword.

BOKUN: Shit.

Bokun stopped his sword at the last moment, as the old man sank his free hand deep within his torso, and blasted him away into the distance.

Immediately after the impact, he threw Guhin after the tumbling body of Bokun. Who was bouncing off the ground with anything but his feet, still, he somehow regained his composure and was able to turn his body right before Guhin collided with him. Smiling from ear to ear, it seemed like he was up to something.

GUHIN: Huh?

When Guhin passed him, he grabbed the collar of his tarnished clothing and used the momentum from the speed he was thrown at, to sling him back with twice the amount of force!

BOKUN: JAAAAH!

Bokun's high expectations quickly faltered,

the old man had already formed his hammer of destruction, and was waiting for Guhin to get within range...

BOKUN: Damn.

With no time to defend himself, the hammer crashed into Guhin! Dissolving into a thick stream of water, that kept pushing them further and further into a forest. They had no other choice than to wait, until the water soaked away into the earth's muddy surface.
