Raise the Sword to help the Weak

'Why did I move? I could've easily run away. I just put my physical attributes in the Growth Room. If I had just run away, I could've grown stronger in the future.'

There was a lifeless look on his face. Shura was trying to understand the reason why he saved that girl, at least tried.

Because his mind was clear about one thing. He couldn't be the opponent of that giant monster. It was impossible to defeat him.

So, why did he move?

Just when he was finding the answer for himself, he heard a voice in his mind. It was another piece of memory.

It was a good and cheerful morning. Shura had finished his hardcore training and he was resting next to his grandfather.

"Gramps, there are a lot of weak people in this world, right? But, they are alive. So, why am I the only one training so hard to survive?"

Twelve years old Shura looked at his grandfather and asked.

"You bastard, you just want to dodge the training."

Smack!

The old man slapped his grandson's head and scolded him.

"Old man, don't hit me for every question! You will make me stupid." Shura shouted at his grandfather.

"Then, don't think about skipping the training." The old man shouted.

"Humph! What's the use of training? Everyone of my age is going to school and playing. Why am I the only one training so hard?" Shura folded his hands and mumbled with slightly wet eyes.

He didn't want to train. He just wanted to go and have some fun with his friends.

At this moment, the old man also noticed his mood and gently pressed his head.

"Boy, do you know the biggest regret parents could have?"

Shura slowly raised his head and looked at his grandfather with big eyes which were filled with confusion.

"It is to see their children suffer while being unable to do anything. You are just twelve now but after a decade or so, you will find a girl that you love and marry her."

"After that, you will have a child and if your child is in danger but if you can't protect your child, you will regret not training to become stronger."

Hearing his words, Shura realized something but suddenly, the old man's next words caught him off guard.

"But, that's not why I am training you."

"Huh?" Shura looked at his old man in confusion.

The old man looked at the front with some memories flooding in his head.

"Boy, human life is full of sadness. It will never leave you. Humans aren't strong enough to destroy sadness but they can become stronger to pull happiness in their lives."

"No one is born to be sad. So, you must find a way to be happy. But, it is extremely hard. In fact, not many people can do it, and those who can are the strong people."

"You have to save people when they are in danger because if you save them, you will bring happiness in their lives and peace in yours. If you save people, then you will be qualified to be strong."

"Because strong do not save people, those who want to become stronger protect the weak. So, never stop training. The stronger you are, the more people you can save."

"So, never be satisfied with your training and never stop training. Only when you keep saving people, you will keep growing stronger."

.......

'Gramps, is it really true? Can I really get stronger by saving more people? But, I am clearly weak. I don't even have the strength to move.'

Shura could feel his body aching all over. At this moment, he felt someone touching his body and shaking it.

"Hey, are you okay? Can you hear me?"

Shura's eyes slowly looked at the person standing in front of him. That person was none other than Mina who he tried to save.

After she saw his eyes moving, she heavily breathed.

"Okay, if you can move, please leave this place as soon as possible. I won't be able to prevent this monster from wrecking more damage but I will try to stop it until Star Association arrives."

"And, thank you for saving me!"

She smiled as she slowly stood up and walked toward the monster. It was constantly moving his hand around and smashing the buildings all around him.

[Clutching Wind]

She raised her hand and a massive wind turned into a giant hand that tried to catch the monster. It wrapped its finger around the monster and made it hard for that monster to move.

Looking at the scene, Shura thought.

'It seems like she can fight well. She should be able to hold on to this monster until the Star Association arrives.'

Thinking about it, he slowly lifts his injured body and turns around. He was clearly going to leave. His intention was to run away as soon as possible. He wanted to go away from this monster.

But, for some reason, his leg didn't move forward. His heart ached in pain as he struggled.

'Why am I not leaving? What is holding me back?'

Bang!

Behind him, the giant monster broke free from that wind hand and smashed his hand toward Mina.

[Wind Barrier]

A massive dome of wind appeared around the girl as she blocked the punch from the giant monster.

Bang!

Although it managed to block this monster for a few seconds, it broke after the monster exerted even more strength.

Its fist moved toward Mina who was completely stunned by the destruction of her wind barrier in mere seconds.

[Combination Swordsmanship]

Suddenly, a large streak of wind blew in front of her. The spinning wind was sharp like a blade, piercing through the monster's skin and making it bleed.

[Tornado Slash]

Thud! Thud!

The monster backed away in pain when it felt its hand being torn apart by the wind.

In front of Mina, the tornado slowly stopped and Shura landed on the ground.

Seeing him, she was stunned for a moment.

"Are you alright?" Shura asked.

Mina mechanically nodded her head but suddenly realized something.

"Hey, if you had the Wind Element why didn't you use it before?"

"I don't have magic powers. I am using the seals."

Shura replied without any hesitation while pointing at the seal on his sword.

"Impossible! How can you use mana but not have magic powers?" Mina shook her head frantically and asked.

"That's because my Mana is too low for awakening a Magic Power. Anyway, listen to me, I can't use a lot of attacks so if you don't want to die, then we have to defeat it by ourselves." Shura answered.

"But how? Even with your swordsmanship and seals, it shouldn't be possible to kill it." Mina asked.

"I can kill it."

If it was before, he certainly wouldn't have this much confidence. But just now, he improved his swordsmanship from Basic to Intermediate so his strength has grown quite a lot.

That's why he had some confidence in killing this monster. But, he alone can't do it.

"But, I won't be able to do it on my own. You have to create an opening for me."

Shura looked into Mina's eyes, fully putting his trust in her skills. Seeing those eyes, Mina got flustered.

"I..I…I just learned my magic skills. I might not be that good at it."

"Hey, if you can't do it, then we will die. So, we have to fight."

Shura spoke and quickly turned around.

"I only have three powerful moves. I have already used one. Now, I will use another so that you can land a powerful hit on it and then make an opening for me."

"So, prepare your move!"

Saying so, Shura clutched the hilt of his sword and rushed toward the monster. His sight was fully focused on the monster as he was breathing quite steadily.

At this moment, his grandfather's words rang in his mind.

'Shura, I am not a swordsman so I am not sure what it feels like. But, what I've heard from my best friend is that when you enter that state, you will feel your breathing as steady as you want and your blood flow at an abnormal level.'

'You will feel your eyes focused on your target and your hearing improved to an outstanding level. Your body will trigger a mechanism that will bring out more than a hundred percent of your strength.'

'This state is known as'

[Zone]

At this moment, his body had completely entered the Zone thanks to his eight years of training. His body moved in front of the giant as he jumped.

The giant moved its arm and tried to squash Shura like a bug. But, Shura simply moved his sword and burst into flames.

He stepped on its hand and started moving around his body. The giant tried to smack him but his foot was constantly jumping and moving.

None of the attacks from the giant landed while its body started getting covered in a spiral flame that was moving up.

When he reached the top, Shura swung his sword down with the head of the flame dragon flowing the tip of the sword.

It looked like the flame dragon wrapping the giant with its head trying to devour it. The flame dragon rose from his sword and roared at the monster.

[Combination Swordsmanship- Flame Dragon Flow]

'So Beautiful'

When Mina saw this scene, her eyes lit up. But, the next moment she raised her hand toward the giant and massive amount of mana brew in her palm.
