chapter 4

The man was left cowering before me. "Please! Spare me and my family, I am the only provider!" As he pleaded with me, my anger only grew. I can't believe that these people were so dull!

Yeah, you must be wondering what the hell is going on here. Well I can explain it to you, but it'll take up most of the chapter. Haha sorry guys. Let's go back a couple of days.

When we arrived in town, everything was bustling about. People were trading items and calling out to others as if everyone was short on time. I was curious about what was going on, but it turns out that today was market day.

Market day happens only once a week. This is when all of the traders and workers sell their goods to commoners and even nobles at times. Everyone wants to look around for delicious food or beautifully crafted items to show off their wealth.

I was stunned. It was almost as busy as a quarantine panic.(see what I did there?) I was getting so into the groove of the crowd, I almost lost the adventurers that I was following. I quickly figured out where they were and followed them to a gigantic building. They went inside and I followed them by passing through the walls.

Yeah , big mistake on my part. You know how I am able to possess things? Wellllll, I got stuck in the wall and half possessed it by accident. I still haven't gotten used to these powers okay! Leave me alone!

It took a couple of seconds but i got out of the wood, but i accidentally warped it a bit so some people in the building were kind of spooked. Oops. Well I went after the group of adventurers. They cashed in the completed quest for some money. The clerk looked surprised and asked, "how did you obtain a blight bear and at this size too?"

"Isn't it obvious? We are just that strong of a party! And we got lucky to find a bear awake at the time." the leader of the party responded. It was obviously a lie that he had no problem saying. I was pissed! They straight up lied to me! Well as long as they name the forest after me. It would be kind of weird if they told them that the bear killed itself because it was possessed.

I continued to follow them and they eventually parted ways after they distributed their money. Well it seemed like i couldn't do anything else now. I decided to just hover around and took a nap floating in the air.

The next day I wandered around the town looking at all of the people working on their craft. It was so interesting that I completely forgot about how long I was there. Now that i think about it, I stayed there for about a month.

Suddenly, while I was wandering around the city, i heard a rumor that the group that accomplished the blight bear quest took an escort quest and got killed in the process. Turns out that only the leader survived. As I continued to pass through the crowd I heard even more.

Supposedly, they had to pass through the forest of adventure. They were on their way to another town but took a shortcut through the forest. It was there that they were attacked by a pack of heated wolves. Turns out they were actually a pretty weak party.

Also did you hear that?! I told them to call the forest  the Silenus forest! They lied to me! At least the pack let the leader escape so i can get my revenge back at him. Unfortunately, I have absolutely no clue where the guy lives.

I ended up wandering around without thinking. Then i realized that i was super stupid. I have the gift of knowledge that the god of souls gave me! Hah! I completely forgot. I then questioned myself where the man who lied to me was and I knew immediately.

He was in the mid lower district on the second level in the fifth building north of the folded warehouse. Perfect. He lived with his little sister who was 19 but had no husband yet since she also wanted to be an adventurer.

This is better than i thought. I could possess his sister and then I could easily talk to him. I have a bit of trouble controlling the other gender because of reasons. Ahem. but since she is also a girl, it will be easy to use her body.

That night I went over to his and his sister's home. It was small and made of wood. This seemed like this place was a normal wooden apartment that was three stories high. I slowly entered the second floor and found where the girl was. Because it was the middle of the night, I assumed that she was asleep at the time.

When I looked inside her room, I saw that she was awake reading a book. As I looked at what she was reading, it turned out to be a book about a fighting technique that she seemed to be learning by herself. As I watched her read, I saw her concentration on the book.

Her blue eyes were focused on the words and her long brown hair flowed down her back. A strand of hair fell down and tickled her cheek. She gently brushed the little strand out of her face with a bit of irritation. As I watched her face twitch and smirk to herself, I felt a little steamy for a second.

Now I know I don't have a heart since I'm a Grand soul but I swear my heart skipped a beat there. I knew I couldn't possess this masterpiece. So I left. I looked around for someone to possess. Then I had a brilliant idea. I'll possess a dead person that no one cares for.
