34: The Paragon of West {Part 2}

"Void Middletown, son of Maria Middletown, the lord of the West, is charged with attempting to murder Shuri Lux, a golden rank Royal Knight, defying and hurting his highness, and punching Samuel Tristella!" Fiola Tristella, the prime minister of the country, declared. "What type of monster is he? He doesn't look like he can even kill a fly, but these heavy charges…" Fiola thought, her gaze locking onto Void, who was still smiling as if he had done something patriotic.

Hearing the charges, not only Fiola was shocked, but everyone in the court was also taken aback. Whispers filled the air: "How cruel? How barbaric? Does he have no shame? What type of man acts like this? I've heard he's not even a true noble! It's obvious—no nobleman would act like that!"

"Silence!" Queen Michelle commanded, her voice confident and dominant, making even the walls shake. "Void Middletown, did you attempt to murder Miss Shuri?" the Queen asked.

"Yes, I did try to murder Miss Shuri! Not only did I try, but I was also about to kill her. Fortunately, she escaped my wrath!" Void responded, his voice calm and confident, a bright smile still on his face.

"Are you aware of the consequences, Mr. Void?" the Queen asked, narrowing her brows, her eyes scrutinizing every reaction from Void.

"Of course, I knew the consequences. According to our country's law, if someone tries to kill you without reason, you can protect yourself by killing them without facing any charges, regardless of their background!" Void said, locking eyes with Shuri. "You can kill that person without hesitation, and there will be no case or charges applied to you!"

As Void said this, the court buzzed with whispers again. "Silence! But Mr. Void, you need solid proof to justify killing someone, especially a golden rank royal knight!" Fiola interjected.

"Of course I had a reason. I was protecting Lumi, who was under the control of Mr. Winter Frost. It was an intense battle, and my sole focus was on Lumi. That's when Miss Shuri came from behind and stabbed me eight times! She even tried to kill Miss Aoi, Cassey, Zoe, and Arcane—people who were fighting to protect us from Winter. She tried to kill them too!" Void explained.

Well the thing about Lumi is fake and I know that Shuri is not someone who'll play nice, if you'll play dirty dear! I won't play nice too! Void in his mind.

Void's words shocked the entire court, and whispers erupted again. "Silence! Mr. Void, do you have any proof? If not, these are just baseless allegations to protect yourself!" Fiola said.

"I do have an eyewitness and a special clip, which I gave to Miss Fiola, but I guess she hasn't presented it yet, hehe!" Void chuckled.

"I didn't receive any clip. If you have another copy, present it to the court. You also have my permission to call your witness!" the Queen said, thinking, "What an exceptional find! I've seen many men brought here on heavy charges, but to stand straight and laugh in front of me—Void Middletown, you've caught my eye! Amuse me more!"

"I'm grateful, Your Majesty. First, I'd like to call Miss Lumi, the closest witness!" Void said. Lumi was brought into court, acting arrogantly until she saw Void.

"Miss Lumi, can you explain the incident, please?" Void asked, as Lumi started fidgeting before regaining her composure.

"I was under the control of Winter Frost, my father. My body wasn't in my control, and I was trying to kill Mr. Void. While we were both fighting, Miss Shuri came and stabbed him from behind. Mr. Void fell to his knees, and then Miss Shuri grabbed my hair and threw me, making me crash into Miss Aoi, Cassey, Sister Zoe, and Miss Arcane!" Lumi recounted.

"Thank you for your help, Miss Lumi. Your Majesty, I'd like to call my good friends and main witnesses: Miss Cassey, Aoi, my maid Arcane, and warrior Miss Zoe Lunaria," Void said.

Lumi was taken away by the knights, and Aoi, Cassey, Arcane, and Zoe entered the court.

"Misses, if you don't mind, can you explain further?" Void asked.

"After throwing Lumi towards us, I saw Miss Shuri stabbing Master!" Arcane said, clenching her fist.

"Not once!" Aoi added.

"Nor twice or thrice!" Cassey continued.

"She stabbed him eight times for no reason! We rushed to stop her, but she didn't listen. She was trying to kill us!" Zoe concluded.

Shuri, realizing she was getting entangled in a mess, tried to interrupt. "What the hell are you talking about—"

"Miss Shuri! We gave you a chance to explain before. Right now, we are trying to understand Mr. Void's explanation, so please behave!" Queen Michelle's words sent chills down Shuri's spine. "Mr. Void, even if we accept that you attacked Miss Shuri in self-defense, how do you explain the rest?" the Queen asked, thinking, "You're quite the player, removing every suspect of the Winter Frost case and taking your vengeance on Shuri at the same time. But how will you make the mother forgive you for hurting her child?"
