Chapter 7

POV Change- 3rd Person:

Everyone was shocked by the booming voices of the men and even those in their homes and in the streets of the capital heard the echo of the voices that seemed to shake the very earth.

The Queen looked at the sight in front of her and had the slightest frown on her face. That was when she made up her mind and decided to act by breaking protocol and stepping forward to stand in front of the king to speak for all to hear. She however didn't move to far forward and stayed in the relative safety of her husband and the Kingsguard when she looked at the imposing figure of Alexander.

"Forgive me but if I'm not mistaken you were charged with wiping out the bandit and outlaw problem in the Seven Kingdoms, correct?"

The prince knew where this was going and frowned slightly but answered none the less. Taking the slight at his character and actions for the past two years.

"Yes, my queen. I was."

"Then pray tell why is it that we have heard for all your accomplishments you never once set foot in Dorne? Or do you mean to say through your actions that in fact Dorn is not a part of the kingdoms your farther, the king rules?"

Everyone in attendance stirred at the Queens remark as it seemed as though she wanted to condemn her own son. Everyone knew that if the prince had gone to Dorne with his armed forces, then it could have led to war if not him being killed by the forces of Dorn instead of the bandits there as that was more than likely to happen.

The prince looked at the King to see if he would speak out at the break of protocol or reprimand her for her words. But when he saw that he made no move to speak or defend he knew he had to answer the Queen. Before he could answer though the Crown Prince who would take any chance to insult his older brother spoke out.

"You were asked a question Dragon Spawn. You should know by now, to answer your betters instead of showing off to cover your stupidity." He said with a smug smile on his face as though he had won some victory over his brother.

"It is true your majesty I was charged with the defence of all seven kingdoms and have not journeyed south to Dorne. In this regard I have failed my duty to the crown and ask forgiveness."

The prince made no excuse or defence and took the blame without outrage or visible anger. But unbeknownst to others there was a simmering anger that threatened to boil over for he knew if he commanded them to then his men would kill everyone here without hesitation.

Hearing her sons answer the Queen moved back to stand with her children and made clear she would speak no further. Now everyone looked to the king to see what he would say and do now that the prince had acknowledged that he had failed the Crown and had not done as was ordered of him.

"Then for your failure and disregard to an order by the King I exile you to Essos and you shall only be permitted to return by my leave and mine alone. Do you challenge this sentence?"

Everyone was shocked to see things develop in this way as it had seemed that the prince was going to be given a grand welcome for his achievements and instead, they were all witnessing his exile instead. Some waited to see the prince object while others hoped to see a conflict that would see the prince stripped of everything as they believed he had gained too much power as of late.

"Men!"

All ten thousand men stood at attention once again. Everyone grew nervous as they remembered the ten thousand soldiers that were loyal to the prince standing before them armed and already had a taste for blood. Even the King and Queen grew nervous as the Kingsguard placed their hands on their swords ready to protect the royal family if needed.

The prince spun on his heels to face his soldiers.

"Are you willing to follow me down any path to any hell no matter the consequence? No matter the challenges we may face?"

"HA-OOH!"

They grew scared as some wanted to flee but where could they go, the Kingsguard drew their swords slightly ready for a last stand. While the Queen clutched her children as she hoped he wouldn't dare move against her.

The prince looked back at the trembling faces of the court of the fear in his mother and Joffrey's eyes as they saw the loyalty I commanded from my men and the apprehension of the Kingsguard as they readied themselves for a slaughter. Then the Prince looked at his father, the King, stood tall and strong showing neither fear nor apprehension instead there was anticipation in his eyes as he waited to see what his son would do.

"Fate has whispered to me that we cannot withstand the storm to come… So, I whispered back that we are the storm!"

"HA-OOH!" "HA-OOH!" "HA-OOH!"

"My brothers of the sword! I would rather fight besides you than any other army in the world! Let no man living or otherwise forget how frightening we are, we are warriors! Do you know what our King has offered us across The Narrow Sea? Immortality! Take it! It's ours and ours alone!"

"HA-OOH!" "HA-OOH!" "HA-OOH!"

The shout of ten thousand men speaking as one shook the very earth the capital stood and made the hearts of those who heard tremble for, they knew that what this was. This was an army, a true army.

"You will depart at dawn on the morrow lad."

The king walked off after he was pleased with the show of force from his son and his acceptance to his order. As the King walked away there was the smallest of smiles that was missed by everyone that was present all except the Prince Alexander Baratheon.

Watching the king walk off with his family and the rest of the nobles following them, Prince Alexander watched their fading figures and whispered to himself.

"Fucking cunts."
