Six Years Later

Alicia wore a clean pair of clothes as she sat looking at the therapist before her.

"Is there something you need to talk about Alicia?" The elderly woman with a crooked nose asked.

She had black eyes with bags under showing how exhausted she was from this job dealing with the individuals at the asylum.

"What do you mean?" Alicia asked playing with her fingers avoiding the eyes of the angry person sitting across from her.

Nervously, the pretty seventeen year old tucked some of her silky sun kissed hair behind her ear finally lifting her gaze into the black orbs.

Clicking her pen against the pad, the gray haired woman sighed heavily rubbing her temples almost annoyed.

"We have cameras everywhere here. Do you think we don't see when you are speaking to your 'friends'" The woman asked in an irritated tone looking back at the blue eyed beauty.

Feeling the sweat form on her hands, Alicia face a sweet smile hoping to distract the woman's anger.

"Sometimes I speak to myself miss."

"Hmmm." The elder hummed looking back at her pad. "You have said before how there are many friends surrounding you that you always have these conversations with Alicia. I have told you multiple times these things aren't real. I thought taking you off the medication was the right call, but I'm afraid I'll have to subscribe your prescriptions again." She sighed loudly writing down her notes.

The older woman looked up expecting Alicia to argue, but the blonde nodded seemingly.

"I believe you miss. The creatures I've been seeing aren't real. I am trying to get better." Alicia kindly stated with another charming smile.

The elder woman's heart tugged hearing the sincere words spoken. Mentally chastising herself, she was reminded that her job was to help these people rejoin society.

"And what about these creatures? Are you still entertaining yourself speaking to these imaginary beings?"

Alicia look up thinking to herself about a careful answer she had been practicing. "Honestly miss, I've realized that they were just figments of my imagination. I've been repeating how it isn't real out loud every time my imagination acts up."

"That's surprisingly good news…" the elderly woman said somewhat shocked.

The first three years after her parents tragic death had caused her to have weekly counseling sessions with the therapist sitting across from her. However, Ally was a stubborn girl who fought constantly about what truly happened that night.

After that, her uncle placed her in a safe institution when he received advice from the therapist that his niece needed extra help. Ally continued her studies and had daily communication with the therapist in order to help her mind and focus on what was real and what was fake.

These past three years were exhausting and she was going to try anything to leave this place once and for all.

Looking back at the notepad, the woman crossed out her note as she wrote something else.

"I've been having an internal struggles." The older woman sighed looking into Alicia's eyes. "Returning to your hometown may have bad effects on your progress, but socializing with kids your age would be healthy for you to develop relationships."

Alicia's eyes lit up at the comment, but the girl kept quiet listening obediently.

"I have spoken to your uncle about how your senior year begins soon. If you spend time with a group of 'human beings'… I believe you could finally experience a more normal lifestyle. You aren't a crazy individual Alicia, but you need to continue to work with me weekly so we can discuss if you have any setbacks."

Alicia's smile widened until the woman said, "And you will also have to continue with your medication."

The blonde's smile faltered for only a moment before she looked at the therapist. "I will do whatever it takes miss Lawrence."

The elderly woman warmly smiled dismissing Alicia with a simple was of the hand.

Standing up, the skinny girl scurried out of the room quickly while keeping her eyes focused on the ground.

Closing her door to a bedroom given to all the patients, Alicia saw a familiar face before her.

A small little fairy wearing a golden dress that sparkled in the light flew over to Alicia with a warm smile.

Her blue hair was placed in a bun as she went to the girls shoulder sitting on her while looking up at her with great interest.

"So what's the news? Did our plan work?"

Alicia smiled while she rolled her eyes. She then went over to the mattress where she created a hole hiding the pills she was suppose to take daily.

"I'm lucky she doesn't have a camera in my room anymore…" she muttered sitting on the mattress smiling up toward the ceiling. The little fairy smiled widely jumping up and down about the news.

"We get to go home!" She cheered.

"Yes we do. But I have to be careful so nobody else gets suspicious. I can't come back here Tiera! I don't know how long they'll keep me next time!"

"You worry too much Ally. I won't let anyone bring you back to this awful place." She said sitting near her friends neck as she folded her arms. She had a distasteful look as she studied the bedroom before her. "I don't understand how anyone thinks this is appropriate living."

Alicia chuckled looking at her small friend. "There's rules and regulations regarding every patient's room so we can stay safe. The hospital is trying to prevent us from harming ouselves."

"Whatever!" Tiera stated waving her hand at her friend before standing up walking over to the nightstand. "I believe this is just what hell looks like."

Alicia lifted her back up narrowing her eyes at her friend.

"I've told you multiple times you could leave at anytime. It's your own fault staying with me."

"I told you, every since you rescued me, I'm indebted to you!" She scoffed finally walking by the lamp which she touched making the ceiling sparkle like stars. "I'm with you eternally now." She said winking at Ally who only laughed.

"I only helped by fixing your wing."

"You saved me from the terrible beast chasing me in the sky that day!" Huffed the small fairy who looked almost offended how the human forgot such an important day.

"It was not a beast. It was just a bird." Alicia said finally sitting up on the mattress looking out the window. "But I have to say, you're the only friend I have. I'm thankful for our encounter."

Tiera grinned flying over back to her friend sitting on the shoulder once again.

"Best friend." She corrected the human wanting to remind her how important she was.
