Chapter 48 Spar

Miya flew backwards with impressive speed. Amber, who was behind her, caught her mid-flight, causing Moya's momentum to pass to her.

They almost fell, but thanks to Amber's efforts, they didn't.

"Thank you." Miya thanked Amber before she started to run.

"You're welcome." Amber replied before following her with the baton on her hand.

"Aah!" Rose let out a scream as she swung her weapon downwards while flying overhead.

Her swing was blocked mid-air by a metal snake head attached to a middle-age man via chains.

The man then moved the other snake heads on his command to attack Rose. The other snake heads tried to swat Rose in the air, but she was too quick for them.

Miya exhaled heavily as she approached the man from a low angle. She used her two sharp knives and aimed for the man's body.

Before Miya could reach the man, a snake head approached her from the side and swallowed her whole as it passed by.

"Miya!" Amber screamed, but before she could do anything meaningful, a snake head used it's chains to wrap Amber up, incapacitating her.

Rose tried to land near Amber to help her, but a snake head bit her in the foot while slowing down towards the ground.

"Tsk!" Rose realised her mistake and tried to fly away. But, when she faced upwards. She saw the middle-aged man in front of her in the air.

Rose then followed the snake head attached to her foot. It has intertwined itself with Amber's chains, rendering Rose unable to accelerate.

Rose faced the man and raised her weapon as a guard. In response, the man sent all of it's remaining four snakes to Rose.

Rose was knocked down into the ground, but thanks to her jetpack she slowed down enough to not get hurt. But, when she landed, the four snake heads that attacked her soon wrapped around her.

Now that the three girls are unable to fight. The man moved all of the girls in front of him using the snake heads.

Suddenly, the man's entire body and face began to turn pale and flat. The man's entire skin looked to be made out of paper which then folded itself into a coat for a girl that seemed to have been inside the fake man's body.

The white haired girl which was of course Lilly, smiled and said. "Good job, girls!"

Amber and Rose let out a groan while still being restrained. Miya poked her head out of the mouth of the snake head and asked. "Can I get out now?"

"Of course." Lilly then reverted all of the snake heads back into her coat, freeing the girls in the process.

"Alright, now that our spar is done. Let's all sit and rest while we talk about what we learned during our little spar." Lilly said to the girls.

But, before anybody could reply. The door to their room suddenly opened which caused Lilly and the others to look.

Standing in front of the doorway is Loki. Looking incredibly small in comparison to the regular sized door.

Tilting her head, Lilly asked with a confused expression. "Why are you here, Loki? It's unusual to see you separated with Hela."

Loki emitted a low growl before turning around and using his head like a pointer, it pointed to the hallway before turning back to Lilly and the girls.

"You want me to follow you?" Lilly asked, which caused Loki gave her a slight nod in response.

"What did Hela do this time?" Lilly sighed as she began making her way to the door in a hurry.

"Ah, you girls can reflect on your own before I go back." Lilly said to the others as she ran out into the hallway with Loki leading her. Leaving the door wide open.

"Uh..." The girls were a bit dumbfounded by Lilly's actions.

Soon, they nodded to themselves and sat in a circle.

"Uh, who wants to start?" Miya ssked.

Rose raised her hand while saying. "I can. Hmm, the first thing I notice is that she holds back against us."

"Yeah, I got that feeling as well." Amber replied with a nod of approval.

Miya scratched her cheek, and said. "Well, atleast nobody got hurt."

"That's not the point, Miya." Rose and Amber said simultaniously.

"The point is that, she underestimates us. So instead it felt like we were playing instead of sparring. She even played dress up while she was at it." Rose sighed.

"Well, the reason she 'dressed up' is because it would have been weird attacking her since we know her." Miya replied.

"Well, yeah. It was a bit awkward though." Amber said.

"But, my point still stands." Rose exclaimed.

"Why are you so keen on implying your point?" Amber asked.

"Well, basically. We won't go anywhere if we keep getting babied." Rose replied.

"I don't mean to be mean, but I don't think Lilly is that good at fighting. She's way to nice." Rose said while the girls nodded.

"She will get hurt if she heard that."

Surprised by the sudden appearance of an unknown voice, the girls turned towards it's source.

They saw Chrys, walking through the open doorway.

"What are you-"

"I'm only here to grab something. Continue whatever you were doing." Chrys replied before Amber could finish her question.

Chrys then began to make his way to the door to the side. The one that led to the armory.

After checking that Chrys went through the door, Rose then continued. "Where were we?"

"I think you were at the 'Lilly being bad' statement."

"I wasn't being mean, Amber!" Rose shouted.

She then cleared her throat and said. "Well, my point is, we won't ever get better at this rate."

"So, I propose a solution. We either talk with Lilly to make her understand our concerns or we find another person to teach us." Rose said, holding out two fingers.

"Both seems quite mean, if you ask me."

"Shut it, Amber."

"Well, the first one we can certainly do. Don't think we can find anyone else to teach us anyways." Miya expressed her thoughts.

Rose nodded and said. "I agree with you, Miya. Since I don't think anybody else will teach us."

"Also, now that I think about it. I don't think anybody here is willing to fight us seriously. Since they're all grown adults and we are just young girls. Don't think anyone here is evil enough to do what essentially counts as bullying." Rose said before giving a defeated sigh.

"So, just pretend you didn't here a thing about what I said earlier." Rose added while the others just stared at her.

After Rose said that, Chrys emerged from the room carrying a black knife with a wide blade.

Rose turned towards him and said with a smile. "Actually, don't mind what I said just now. I think I found our evil bully."

"I heard that."

"You seem like a person who would throw a puppy." Rose added as she looked at Chrys.

"Just to be clear, I haven't thrown a puppy..." Chrys said, putting the blade into a scabbard and hanging it on his side.

"You don't seem like a person to hold back at anything." Rose said to him with a smile.

"No. I'm the physical manifestation of holding back."

Rose then cleared her throat, stood up and politely asked. "Mr. Goldie hands, are you willing to help us train?"

Miya and Amber looked at her with shock as they didn't realise what Rose has been building up to.

"Don't you already have Lilly to train you?" Chrys asked.

"Well... We might need a bit more help than Lilly could provide." Rose responded.

"Lilly will be mad if she hears about this." Chrys added.

"Yes, I know. Maybe just pretend I didn't ask?" Rose asked before sitting back down with defeated face.

A malicious smile formed on Chrys face as he seemed to ponder for a second. He then said. "Well, I didn't say I refuse, now did I?"

The girls all stood up and looked at him with faces full of surprise.

Chrys then touched wall beside him. A moment later, a grey, floating staff came from within the armory.

Chrys extend his palm towards the floating staff which then landed itself on his palm. Chrys then entered a stance as he said with a truly evil smile. "Come on, then. I'll teach you a lesson you'll never forget."

The girls just stared at him with dumbfounded expressions.

Soon after, Amber walked over to Rose and whispered in her ears. "I think you messed up, Rose. He is way too into this."

"I can see that now." Rose said with a forced smile on her face.
