Chapter 41 Final Explosion

On the other side of town, inside a building with a ruined side, Lilly and Seena continued their clash.

Lilly sent seven of her snake heads to Seena. Like a dancer on a dance floor, Seena evaded the snake heads with elegance and grace.

After dodging and parrying the snake heads thanks to her rapier, Seena's entire aura did a complete 180 turn.

Her grace and elegance turned to bloodlust and concentration as she charged Lilly.

With all of her snake heads behind Seena, Lilly's entire body was defenseless.

Upon reaching Lilly, Seena pulled her arm back and released a stab right away with no hesitation in sight.

But, her attack was intercepted by an eighth snake. The clash between their weapons caused both of them to take a step backwards.

"How many snake heads is she hiding?" Seena asked herself.

"She has to have a limit." She said to herself right after.

Lilly took advantage of the newly formed distance between them and attacked with the eighth snake head.

Seena redirected the snake's head to the side with her rapier. She then turned around to face the seven snake heads heading right for her.

She used her rapier to swipe away three of the snake heads with ease, but upon coming into contact with the fourth one, Seena knew it was different.

Seena dodged the fourth instead of parrying it. The fourth continued to make its way, eventually reaching the ground.

It slammed into the ground, causing the floor to crack and sink as a few rocks fell out of the snake's head.

Seena turned her attention to the remaining snake heads approaching her. She dodged all of them without even trying to parry a single one of them.

All three snake heads that she evaded were revealed to have all been filled with rocks as they slammed into the ground.

After dodging all of the snake heads, Seena turned around and faced Lilly.

While Seena was busy dodging, Lilly distanced herself a good bit. She then recalled all of the snake heads back to her side.

After all eight heads were assembled beside her, the snake heads, which were filled with rocks, spat out all of the rocks inside them.

After emptying all the snake heads, Lilly asked. "Do you want to tell me what you know before we do this?"

Seena shook her head side to side.

After seeing her answer, Lilly, for the first time in their fight, took a step forward.

She moved in a dance-like fashion. She moved her arms in such a way that the snake heads seemed to be alive.

The snake heads attack Seena with speed, unlike before. Seena blocked and parried the snake heads attacking her.

"Although they don't have the weight anymore, at the speed they're going, that's still going to hurt if they hit me." Seena thought to herself.

"I still shouldn't let my guard down since she might sneakily stuff one of them with rocks." Seena reminded herself.

Amidst her dodging and thinking, Seena saw something she didn't expect.

As she parried one of the attacking snake heads to the side, a girl seemed to appear right behind it.

The girl had long black hair, a pair of grey eyes, and a knife in her grasp. The girl's name was, of course, Miya.

Seena hadn't expected her, and was in a state of surprise. Miya took advantage of this and sent a stab using her knife.

Seena snapped back to reality just in time to defend herself. She pushed her palm towards the knife, causing it to only stab her palm.

After her attack was blocked, Miya quickly retracted her knife and ran away.

Although Seena was still a little bit confused, she pursued Miya with the intent to kill her.

Fortunately for Miya, Lilly used her snake heads to attack Seena, forcing her to defend herself.

Seena deflected the snake heads as she thought to herself. "Where did she come from? I thought she was outside, calling for help. "

Seena's eyes scanned the entire building; her vision then landed on the gaping hole on the side of the building.

So, that's how it is, huh? But, unfortunately for you, Those types of tricks only work once. " Seena said before taking a step forward.

She looked around her surroundings and took it all in.

Lilly was a good distance away from her, with the snake heads circling around her at differing speeds.

Seena then fell deep into thought again. Those heads must be filled with a different number of rocks, but..."

"Where's the girl?" She calmly asked herself.

She looked around at the surrounding walls around her as she asked herself again. "Is she hiding behind these ruined walls?"

"Or, is she hiding somewhere else?" She continued to think.

With blood dripping down her palm, Seena answered her own question.

"Either way, she will reveal herself again and attack me. I just have to keep my guard up against her. "

"I just have to give most of my attention to the problem that presents itself." Seena turned and faced Lilly and her company of snake heads.

"I guess I have to pull the trigger." Seena said, pulling the rapier close to her body and forming a solid stance.

She placed her feet together, centered her sword at her center of balance, and placed her offhand behind her back.

She took a deep breath, causing her blade to steady itself.

Once Lilly had the time to realize what she was doing, she ordered all of her snake heads to attack.

Seena's handguard emitted a small amount of semi-transparent orange liquid, which defied gravity and climbed her blade, eventually reaching the tip.

Seena braced herself and began to perform a stab, but as she was doing this, a person emerged from behind one of the snake heads. It was Miya.

Instead of hiding behind a wall, she instead chose to hide behind one of the moving snake heads. She moved as it moved. She hid behind one of the slower snake heads in order to keep up.

But now, she has revealed herself and charged Seena with her knife.

"Like I said before, those types of tricks only work once." Seena calmly said as she turned and faced Miya with her blade alongside her.

She retracted her arm, adjusted her blade, and sent a thrust towards Miya, even though she was still a ways off from her.

Something in Lilly's head sent a warning to her brain. Lilly's reflex immediately kicked in; she used all of her snake heads to block the incoming attack towards Miya.

Miya then stopped in her tracks, confused about why Lilly had blocked her path.

Seena then performed a quick thrust, but her attack came up short, as it didn't even reach Miya.

Although her attack failed, Her thrust sent the fluid on the tip of her sword shooting forwards.

The fluid flew in the air, eventually coming into contact with Lilly's snake heads that blocked Miya.

As soon as it hit, an explosion occurred. The explosion sent the snake heads shooting off into the distance.

The snake heads barely missed Miya's head as they went past her face.

Even though she didn't take the attack, Lilly was sent a few feet to the side. Her slender body was slamming into a wall. Because the snake heads were connected to her arms via chains, she also felt that explosion.

A small amount of blood dripped on Lilly's forehead as she picked herself off the wall.

She then used the snake heads closest to Miya to pull her close to her. She then recalled all the snake heads back to her side. None of them suffered any long-lasting damage from the attack earlier.

"Surprised?" Seena asked in a somewhat arrogant tone.

"That's my weapon's ability. It can produce a small amount of liquid that will explode on impact. I guess that was a bit redundant, since you already know that. " Seena asked Lilly with a smile on her face.

"Even though it might be intimidating at first, it's actually pretty weak since it's unable to cause a bigger explosion." Seena added.

"The attack you saw earlier was the most I could do." Seena said to them with a defeated tone.

"Now that you know my weakness, shall we continue?" Seena asked as she entered her stance.

In the face of her provocation, Lilly only stared at her with a pondering expression.

"Come on!!!" Seena roared as she began her charge towards Lilly and Miya.

Just as she was about to take her fourth step forward, another explosion occurred.

Only this time, it wasn't Seena that caused it.

The explosion happened outside, between Seena and Lilly.

This caused the three girls to stop what they were doing and look at the new massive hole in the wall.

The dust from the explosion was swept by an unnatural wind. The wind swept the dust aside, revealing a man with golden eyes. The man's name was Chrys.

"I think that's enough, Lilly." Chrys calmly said

Lilly released a defeated sigh after hearing this.

"You are Golden Hands, right?" Seena chimed in.

"Maybe." Chrys replied.

"If you are here, then the boss is dead. Am I right?" Seena asked.

Chrys only stared at her without saying anything.

"I'm sure he didn't say what your core is." So, you are here to ask me? " Seena asked again.

Chrys continued to stare at her.

"Then, this battle is over." Seena said.

Seena placed her feet together, centered her sword at her center of balance, and placed her offhand behind her.

She did this before saying calmly "Talent, determination, etiquette." I don't need any of them since I am in control of my life. "

After saying this, a massive amount of the semi-transparent liquid poured out of her rapier, which covered her entire blade and also parts of her arms.

"Tsk!" Upon seeing this, Chrys clicked his tongue before running towards Lilly and Miya.

Lilly and Miya stared at Chrys, who had the look of worry and desperation on his face.

As this was happening, Seena's blade and arms began to glow with a white color.

A second later, a massive explosion occurred. The building they were in was instantly reduced to rubble.

The scene remained a steaming pile of rocks and debris for a solid few seconds.

After the silence had had its time, another explosion occurred. The explosion sent the debris around it flying to the side.

A person emerged from the explosion with not even a scratch on his clothes. It was Chrys, and he had a worry-ful pair of golden eyes.

"Lilly! Miya! Where are you?!" Chrys shouted.

A voice echoed from underneath, which said "We're okay!"

Chrys closed his eyes for a moment before opening them a second later.

He walked a few feet away before stopping. He then placed his hands on the ground underneath him.

A low rumbling noise occurred as the ground in front of Chrys seemed to move away.

After the ground split, a pyramid shaped rock formation rose from the ground. The pyramid fell to the ground, revealing Lilly embracing Miya with her body inside.

Lilly pulled Miya up and supported her as they stood. They approached Chrys before, Lilly said. "Thanks for the save."

"No problem." Chrys quickly replied with a small smile.

"I guess I failed."

"You did a great job."

"Thank you." Lilly thanked him before turning her attention to Miya.

"Are you okay?" Lilly asked as she took the dust off of her own coat.

"Yeah, just... a bit shocked." Miya answered, her body still shaking.

Lilly dusted the dust off Miya's clothes before saying "It looks like you're fine." The shock should go away soon enough. "

"Okay, but... I thought she said she couldn't do a bigger explosion?" Miya asked, still a little confused about how things happened.

"She lied." Chrys interjected.

"I thought I said that you should take everything someone says to you with a grain of salt." Chrys added.

"Yeah, I remember, but..." Miya remained silent for a second before continuing.

"Why would you season someone?" Miya asked with an unsure tone in her voice.

"Oh my!" Chrys face palmed upon hearing her reply.

"Pffft, hahaha haha!" Lilly then burst out laughing.

"Hahaha, are you serious?! Hahaha! " Lilly laughed hysterically and unladylike.

"How does it taste to be made fun of, you sarcastic jerk?! Hahaha! " Lilly laughed again, pointing to Chrys, who was still face palming at the time.

Miya exchanged glances between the laughing Lilly and the face-palming Chrys.

Her face has a look of shock and confusion, as she didn't understand what Lilly found funny and why Chrys was face palming.

I can't, I can't. Hahaha! " Lilly's laugh echoed through the rubble they stood on while she held her stomach.

Both Miya and Lilly continued to do what they were doing for a few more minutes.

Meanwhile, Chrys moved the fingers on his face, showing one of his eyes.

He looked off to the side, and saw a rock with blood smeared on the bottom half of it.

Upon seeing this, Chrys closed his eyes and breathed heavily.
