Chapter 34 V's battle

Two people are fighting inside a theater building with a water tower on top. The entire inside of the theater was now a jumbled mess.

Tables and chairs were flipped or broken. A few parts of the walls have given up and crashed down.

Most of the supporting pillars are damaged or destroyed. Only three pillars are barely damaged.

York readied his harpoon over his head before he threw it at V, who was hiding behind a toppled table.

As soon as York threw the harpoon, V stood up and kicked the table in front of him, towards the harpoon.

The harpoon went straight through the table and continued to head towards V.

The harpoon accelerated even more, thanks to the thrusters attached to the back of its head.

V drew out both of his claws as he deflected the harpoon to the side.

V managed to deflect it with much difficulty. The force of the harpoon caused him to lose his footing and get pushed to the side.

V maneuvered his body in mid-air to land on his feet as the harpoon he deflected embedded itself in the wall.

Seeing as it missed its target, York pulled the harpoon back using the rope it's attached to.

As he pulled the harpoon, the wall that it was embedded into crumbled and crashed to the ground.

The moment it took York to retrieve the harpoon caused York to lose sight of V, who was hiding behind a bar off to the side.

Thanks to the mess I made earlier, He shouldn't be able to move freely without worry of an ambush. " V thought to himself, as he silently caught his breath.

Meanwhile, York had his harpoon in an overhead throwing position as he carefully searched his surroundings.

Due to the jungle of furniture around him, York couldn't afford to be careless, as one careless move could give V the opportunity to attack.

Thanks to this, V had enough time to think by himself.

"This building will collapse at any moment." V said to himself.

"Thanks to Throwy McThrowstuff over there, I can't use my technique inside this building because, like I said, it will collapse."

"I could go outside and fight him there, but that would eliminate my source of cover."

"That harpoon has some speed." It's not the fastest thing that tried to take my life, but it's still fast. "

"Maybe I could close the distance using my technique and force him to fight at close quarters if I could get him outside."

"But, that would risk my losing my cover."

"Grr! Why must every fight I'm in have to be difficult?! Can't I just have an easy fight? " V screamed inwardly as he scratched his head with an annoyed face.

"Oh! Maybe I could use the side buildings when he attacks... V remained silent for a while after this thought.

V continued to think to himself, as he observed York, who was cautiously moving around, through a reflection on one of the bottles in the bar.

"That wouldn't work." V suddenly thought to himself.

"Come on, brain. Think of a plan that 'I' could do. " V said to himself as he started to scratch his head again.

V remained like this for a good few seconds.

"You're quite a sneaky fellow." Ain't cha, Chaos Herald? " York said, in a loud, clear voice.

This was enough to knock V out of his thoughts and make him move behind the bar cautiously.

In the corner of York's vision, he saw a moving reflection of V on one of the bottles on the bar.

York hurriedly threw his harpoon to V at the bar.

The harpoon buried itself into the counter and continued to move towards the back.

Luckily, V managed to roll out of the way and out of the bar, but now he was out in the open.

Seeing this, York immediately recalled his harpoon from the bar.

The force of the pulling motion from the harpoon caused the glass bottles on the bar to move and crash onto the ground.

The bottles cracked and shattered into shards of glass, which littered the floor.

V grabbed a half-broken bottle on the ground and threw it towards York.

York, who managed to recall his harpoon barely at the right moment, blocked it, and hopped backwards as he readied his harpoon again.

York glared at V with a serious expression as he threw his harpoon at him.

V, meanwhile, jumped on top of a table and leaped towards the upper floor.

The harpoon, missing its target, slammed into the wall with full force. A moment later, York retrieved it, using the rope in his hands.

After the harpoon was taken apart from the wall, it crumbled and took the majority of the wall on that side and a part of the upper floor down with it.

"I need cover to think." V said to himself as he ran on the upper floor.

York only watched as he held his harpoon ready, waiting for that single moment where V would stop moving.

V ran across the second floor, jumping above tables and chairs without slowing down.

But, his path ended due to the crumbled floor, thanks to York's attacks earlier.

"I can make that jump." V said inwardly as he approached the gap.

When he was only a few feet from the gaping floor, V bent his knees. V then released the force built up in his legs as he began to jump.

But, before his feet could fully leave the ground, He hesitated. This single moment of hesitation stopped his jump, but that's not all it did.

York, who had his harpoon ready, took advantage of the situation and attacked.

He let his harpoon loose towards V, at a speed that it could easily shoot through someone.

Fortunately, V managed to block it with his claws, but the force of the harpoon forced him to slam into a wall.

But, the harpoon still had enough force to push him further. A moment later, the wall behind V cracked and began to let up due to the pressure.

The harpoon knocked V straight through the crumbling wall, and continued to do so until it reached outside.

Once it reached the outside, the harpoon finally slowed down and eventually stopped.

York quickly retrieved it before saying to himself, "Shit, I'm not meant to let him go outside." This isn't part of the plan we had in mind. "

So I guess I'll have to improvise. Now, what would you do now, Herald? " York thought to himself as he looked at V through the destroyed wall he had made earlier.

V laid outside on a wooden wagon beside the building where York is.

The wagon managed to soften the impact V experienced. V reached for the side of the wagon as he dragged himself up.

The wagon had a hole where most of V's back hit. V stood up and glared at York, who was also staring at him.

"That's it!!!" "V he shouted, as he stomped hard onto the ground underneath him.

V wore a serious and pissed expression on his face as he drew his right arm backwards with the claws still extended.

He placed his other foot forward, tucked his left arm close to his chest, and lowered his stance.

York felt a chill run up his spine as V performed these actions.

York knew that V was now going on the offensive. He held his harpoon with both of his hands as he anticipated the attack.

V let out a deep breath as his body blurred.

Like a lightning bolt, V charged York at a blinding speed. York raised his harpoon on his left side instinctively.

A loud clanging of metal resounded, as York's body flew towards the stage. He hit the back wall, causing a massive dent as he crashed into it.

A few moments later, he landed on his feet, still reeling from the impact. He looked forward with an angry expression and his gaze landed on a man standing a few meters away from him.

It was V, and like York, he too was looking at his opponent with an enraged look in his eyes.

Due to V moving like a lightning bolt, thunder soon followed. A massive series of shockwaves appeared where V traveled.

It caused a loud noise, like what you would expect from thunder. And, because of the shockwaves, dust and debris inside got displaced.

All of the furniture inside the building, both V and York, is up, raised in the air, and smashed into each other.

The building itself is shaking due to the shockwaves and seems ready to fall at any moment.

All the while, V and York are still glaring at each other, unfazed by their surroundings.
