"Ah, ah, ah, ah, stayin' alive, stayin' alive. Ah, ah, ah, ah, stayin' alive.𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅘𝅥𝅮"
Yes, Yami was currently "dancing" in the bossroom while hearing and silently singing "Stayin' Alive" by Bee Gees. Meanwhile he was walking around and lazily killing the monsters that spawned. It looked really funny because he moved to the beat and it seemed like he wasn't taking anything serious at all, rather, his dodging was him swaying from side to side while dancing.
[The constellation "Copyright" is demanding you to stop imitating Guardians of the Galaxy.]
(Sorry, can't hear you.)
The music came from Eve and Yami was having the time of his life just fooling around.
Why did he do this?
No real reason really. A spur of the moment. He remembered the starting scene from Guardian of the Galaxy two; Groot just dancing around while the others had a death-battle. But he liked the starting song from the first movie better and thus asked Eve to play it for him.
But in the middle of battle?
Why not? None of the guards were really a threat to him, they were below his level and just his skill with the blade was leagues above them. With the strong weapon he had, there was no reason not to have some fun at the same time. And maybe make some Points.
[The constellation "God-father" is laughing at this strange but somehow great sight. 200 Points have been sponsored.]
The boss had a lot of HP and the raid would take a long time anyways.
Just the difference between this genius swordsman who could easily defeat/kill the minions of the boss, while dancing, and the other players who were struggling made it clear how good Yami had become after his "training" on the first floor. Of course he went over to the players who needed help and saved a lot of players.
While most of the players were doing damage to the boss, the minions were getting obliterated by Yami's party alone. There was Kirito who was literally just sword-Jesus and one of if not the best "player" in the game. Then the knight Alice who is an AI created mainly for fighting who got OP equipment. Asuna was able to easily handle the monsters in the original without even knowing how to open the menu, now that she had a bit of training with Yami the guards were no challenge for her whatsoever even alone. Leafa and Sinon were fighting together, the archer shot the monsters while a blonde haired girl protected her and defeated the monsters with her kendo skills.
Sinon really seemed to have a talent with long ranged weapons since she missed almost none of the arrows, they seemed to do a bit of damage probably a bit higher than a sword but she needed a longer time to draw the bow back than one slash from a sword. She had the advantage because of her ranged attacks, but if alone, the monsters would defeat her if they could close in on her. The weapon alone wasn't overpowered, but together with a good party that covered for her weakness, she would be a great asset to Yami's party.
Without any of the guards able to interfere the assault group attacked did a great job with attacking the boss. The tanks did what they should do; tank the damage, while the damage dealers did what they should do; deal damage.
[The constellation "Abridged" is quoting; "Oh, WOW. What brilliant insight! It's so deep it loops right back around to being stupid."]
Although Yami was dance-fighting, he was by no means careless as evident by the fact that his HP hasn't dropped at all since entering the room. Not only did we want to train in evading and blocking any and all attacks, he didn't want to experience the pain that would come from being sliced or smashed by the mobs. He was simultaneously observing the rest of his party as well to make sure that nothing happened to them and to look at how they did while fighting. Particularly Alice, Sinon and Leafa.
Maybe he was looking for a chance to play the knight in shining armor as well, but they didn't seem to need that. Alice just cut down anything that came near her with the skill and precision of a true knight. Leafa and Sinon on the other hand had perfect teamwork and the combination of a swordswoman in the front and someone shooting arrows from the back proved to be a very powerful combination.
He was currently stepping back a bit for a counter attack. Real swordsmanship wasn't all about clashes of strength, even an old man can easily defeat a athletic young man just because of his superiority in technique. Most of the time there is one person on the offence and one on the defense. The one on the defense would rather take a step back because then you would just be out of reach. And if there is a clash of balades, you don't just push harder, if there is a clash it is better if you tilt your sword and try to attack the body of the enemy not the sword.
That is something different between real swordsmanship and the one in movies and such, you are attacking the body of the enemy, not the sword of the enemy.
The monsters on the first floor weren't really good with the sword, or whatever weapon they carried, and thus after the monster made a wide swing of the sword it was left wide open for Yami to strike right into its chest.
After defeating it Yami looked over to the boss, he didn't plan to go along with how the story would normally play out and waited for the time when the boss's HP entered the red zone.
Seeing that the show is about to start, Yami put on a slight slime. He had picked this music for something special.
He slowly walked towards the boss whose HP was about to go into the red. Each step followed the rhythm.
{Ah, ah, ah, ah, stayin' alive, stayin' alive. Ah, ah, ah, ah, stayin' alive. 𝅘𝅥𝅮}
Yami was already charging up a sword skill and pointed his glowing blade at the boss. After that he spoke a great quote from one of the greatest antagonists there were.
""Staying Alive". So boring, isn't it? It's just… staying."
With these words Yami shot out to the boss before any other players, particularly Diabel, could do anything. The Boss had already drawn its Odachi but was still focused on the assault party.
[The constellation "Moriarty" has a psychopathic smile on his face while knowing that he himself is one of the things that made BBC Sherlock so great. "Did you miss me?"]
His white coat fluttered as he moved, he looked badass.
The sword flashed and two consecutive slashes appeared on the body of the boss within a moment. It wanted to attack Yami with its new weapon, but he had already slid underneath it and jumped up behind it while simultaneously making an upward strike.
It turned around, but and slashed at Yami, but he had already anticipated the direction where the blade would go and just moved back one step. The Odachi missed him for not even a centimeter showing just how precise Yami's prediction was.
Because of the force it generated by turning around while swinging its weapon, the boss was off balance and Yami could easily attack its belly.
Seemingly having lost too much HP, the boss roared and prepared to jump. It seemed that it wasn't as dumb as the other monsters on the first floor.
The assault party was already wounded and if the monster attacked them from above while using a sword skill, it would be disastrous.
"Kirito!"
Yami shouted at Kirito who was already thinking if he should do something or not. Because he knew how Illfang fought the knew what was going to happen and what he should do. He started charging a sword skill while getting into a jumping position himself.
Illfang jumped up with speed unimaginable for his build and jumped against one of the pillars and to another, suddenly it pushed itself off and shot straight towards the other players.
"Grrrrooooorrrrr"
It roared while staring at the soon dead players with its red eyes. Coming closer and closer to the victims at high speed.
"As if I let you!"
Suddenly, another figure shot towards the boss with a charged sword in hand and slashed at the boss. Illfang was hit and because of the impact its direction changed and it fell a bit away from the assault group.
Kirito fell from the sky as well, but even though he had problems with landing again, it was way better than Illfang who crashed into the floor.
After seeing that only Yami and Kirito had their fun with the boss Asuna ran towards it as well, she wanted to be the one to kill it. Just thinking about the dumb expressions of the both of them was enough to put a smile on her face.
Alice was advancing towards the boss as well, it was her job to advance in the floors and that would be achieved by killing the boss of the floor.
Illfang was still only laying there, the HP bar was almost non-existent. Even a normal stone could kill the boss monster now.
Asuna was five meters away from it, Alice six and Kirito ten. Asuna had already trust out her rapier and was about to pierce the boss to death.
Suddenly Illfang was hit by something and he exploded. Everyone was stunned.
Lame party kazoo sound effect and a banner with the word "CONGRATULATION" appeared on the place where the boss was just scattering blue particles.
"Behold the most powerful weapon in this game; The Mithril Pebble of Pig Smiting!"
Indeed, the thing that killed the boss of the first floor, which had taken the players one month, was a stone, no, the The Mithril Pebble of Pig Smiting!
And who was the lucky one who got to kill the boss?
Yami of course… not.
He was actually the person who gave Kirito the pebble. Why? Well, he isn't an idiot. If he killed the boss as someone who isn't registered as a player, Kayaba would immediately find out that Yami was "special". And he still wanted Kirito to get the black coat. He himself had the white one and Kirito would have the black one. The black swordsman and the white swordsman, not bad right?
Asuna who was only a second away from killing the boss herself was a bit upset that Kirito was the one who killed the floor boss. If it had been Yami she would be content with it or even Alice. But why HIM?
Alice didn't really mind, as long as they could advance the floor her mission was accomplished. But she had pride as a knight as well and she felt that she herself was a bit useless since they would have easily made it even without her since they had players like Asuna, Leafa, Kirito and Yami.
Sinon and Leafa were happy just like the other players. After a whole month of two thousand deaths they were finally able to see a bit of hope at the end of the tunnel.
"Yeeeesss!!"
"Aaahaaaa!!!"
"FINALLY!"
"WE DID IT!"
Diabel stepped forward, he was the leader of this assault and hadn't died since Yami had interfered.
"Great work guys! We have finally cleared the first floor! We can beat this game!"
The players cheered even more.
"Yeah, we can do this!"
"*Meow*"
(Don Fluffles!)
Yami shot a glare at the future mafia boss. He thought whether to kill this cat since he had some involvement in the story but he couldn't kill someone, even if it was a cat, right in front of all these players.
"Great job Yami."
The rest of his party walked over to him. Even if not consciously, they had all accepted that he is the leader of this party. After seeing his skills, his knowledge, obvious leader capabilities and that he was the only person who could keep Asuna in check they were sure that he was the best one suited to lead the party.
"Yeah, you too. Asuna, you have improved tremendously after such a short time, you have to be one of the best players there currently are. Alice, you really deserve to call yourself a knight, your swordsmanship and battle prowess is superb. Leafa and Sinon, your teamwork is great. Leafa you practice kendo right? One can see that you are already very capable. And Sinon, your bow is really a great weapon to have in any party. Thanks that you joined our party. And Kirito…"
Kirito had already turned around while equipping the black coat. Since he had only dealt the finishing blow, and that with the help of Yami, he wouldn't make his speech about how great he was. But as he heard Yami call his name he surprisingly turned around a bit.
"Kirito, you are really a good player, thank you for fighting alongside us. You have not only defeated the boss but also saved the assault party. You are a good person."
The "Black Swordsman" had already turned around and ran towards the exit. But Yami could hear a few snobs and a "finally".
With this Kirito should have character development into a better direction than in the Abridged series. He received the recognition and praise he lacked in his life from Yami not only because he was a good player but also because he was a "good person" and saved people. Yami was sure that he had now changed the story and fate of Kirito completely, but probably for the better for him. He might even become a somewhat decent human being, or at least he couldn't be completely dysfunctional. And not a loose collection of character defects.

Even as Kirito walked out of the boss room onto the second floor he just stared at the system message in front of him with a bit of tears in his eyes:
[You have received a friend request from "Yami". Accept? Yes. No.]
- - -
"Could you all accept my friend request?"
Just like he had just sent one to Kirito, he sent all the other party members, who weren't already his friends, a friend request.
"Sure, why not."
Sinon pressed the button. She had already agreed to give Yami lessons in how to use the bow and having him in the friend list would hurt right?
"Okay."
After seeing that Sinon had already accepted, Leafa added Yami to her friend list as well. He was a good player and she saw him as a good person as well. Maybe they could team up for a while? This was still a death game and the more good players in the party the better, right? And she wasn't sure if she herself was enough to always keep all the monsters away from her companion and friend, Sinon.
"Great. Now then, since his boss fight is pretty much over I just wanted to ask all of you if you would want to form a party again?"
Yami of course wanted to fight together with the waifus since this was the best way to establish a relationship between each other.
"Sure, but not now. If you need help with something or you plan to fight a boss you can message me, or if you just want to talk. I have some interest in you so I wouldn't mind spending a bit of time with you. As long as you hold up your end of the deal, this knight's sword will be yours to command."
As an AI Alice didn't need to level up and it would be complicated if she went on quests with Yami. But she still wanted to learn more about humans through Yami and she also relied on him for food. That she needed more interactions with humans to understand "common sense" was shown just now as she had phrased her words a bit bad. The words "Interest in you" were a bit misleading.
"I think you owe me another duel! If you win I will be your companion from now on!"
Asuna needed to blow off some steam because of the words that Alice just spoke. And a duel against Yami was a good opportunity. She knew that she had no chance at beating Yami but she herself would have joined his party anyways, after already partying up with him for the last few days. But she wasn't an easy woman!
Leafa and Sinon had meanwhile discussed between each other.
"We would like to join your party as well. But we still want some freedom."
Yami nodded at that. He didn't plan to always be with them. He had the people in Paradise that wanted to come to SAO as well. And although fighting in groups was important he needed to train how to fight on his own, since many of the battles in the near future would be only him fighting.
Thus they agreed that they would send each other messages if they wanted to meet up or take a quest. Yami would always meet up with Alice at some point of the day and eat together, at least that was the condition of Alice.
"Okay, I think all of us want to go to the second floor after we have finally managed to clear the first one. I will be going now. Have fun."
With these words Yami walked towards the entrance to the second floor, just like Kirito had. His while coat fluttered even without any wind. The girls looked at his back and all agreed with another that he looked really cool at that moment. They also added each other to their friend lists and then followed after Yami.

{Yami, God has sent you a message.}
That was the reason Yami had wrapped everything up so quickly. If God sent him a message it was definitely something important.
[Hey, a bored God here. I just wanted to inform you that I will speed up things a bit. After one month of seeing you kill monsters I have decided that this isn't that interesting to me. Of course that is by no means your fault. Anyways, since most of the time is farming XP I will make it so that there will be double XP. This should speed everything up. Well, you should probably be careful of the "lags" that this change will bring. Don't worry, although a lot of players may die, you are not in danger, neither are the other important characters. And the rate of affection from the girls will also increase just like in Paradise. Hope you have fun and that this game will be more interesting now.]
"Oh, fuck!"
