Chapter 34: I Suck At Games

"Well, that was…an experience." Sona sighed, finally happy to be away from the oppressive feeling of nobility. Everyone joined her in expressing their relief, through varying actions ranging from sighs, to outright dropping on the seats.

The white haired girl Momo seemed to find that couch really comfy right about now.

"Hey, it wasn't all bad." I chuckled tiredly, pulling Rias closer to me. An action she made no attempt to fight. "Rias and I had a blast once all that other bullshit was over with, ain't that right, Rias?"

"We could have been watching paint dry together, and it probably would have been more fun." She snorted.

Yeah, sounds about right.

"All problems aside." Sona smiled, a full smile I had never seen on her before. "Congratulations, Rias and Isamu on your engagement."

Rias left my arms and embraced her childhood friend. They both were practically squealing like normal teenage girls in each other's ears.

'[Never would I have thought I would see the Sitri girl acting like that.]' Ddraig's voice was unusually surprised.

'That makes two of us.'

'[The girl reminds me a lot of the Chaos Karma Dragon King, Tiamat…Without the power, or ferocity.]'

'Then how exactly would she remind you of her if she's lacking the two main things that make a dragon a dragon?

'[Your a smartass.]'

'Wrong, I'm THE smartass.' I chuckled internally.

'[Laugh all you want now, but good luck explaining to the jackal and his mate how you happened to come across a homeless dragon god.]' Ddraig snorted.

I froze. Why had I not thought about that? Bringing the second strongest being in existence home and shoving her in my brother's room would obviously require my parent's permission. They can't exactly say no, for fear of Ophis eradicating them. At the same time, when they say yes, I'm definitely gonna receive the mother of asswhoopings.

'[HAHAHA!!! I can see the King of the Dead dragging you to the realm where the tortured souls reside and playing with you a bit! Honestly, that may be a good thing, it would make you stronger!]'

"Isamu!" Rias shouted.

"Huh?"

I looked at my fiance, then around the room and noticed that everyone had left, even Issei's bitch ass who I had planned to punish. Apparently even Ophis was gone.

"I can't believe you didn't listen to me. Did you know how much courage it takes a girl to ask that?"

I raised an eyebrow as I rubbed the back of my head sheepishly.

"I was talking to Ddraig, sorry about that. What did you say?"

She sighed, as her cheeks started burning red. Out of anger, or embarrassment, I couldn't tell you.

"I asked if you wanted to go back to my place? We only spent the end of the night together, and we don't have school tomorrow."

"Oh, yeah, I'm down. You worried me, I thought it was something super important." I laughed.

"Me inviting you over isn't important?" Rias pouted.

"Well, it is, but when you spend your day to day training in the Egyptian hells alongside a mummy and a golem, it becomes a bit more…mundane." I explained while trying my absolute best not to laugh in her face.

That definitely would not be a good idea.

Seeing Rias continue her childish pout made it all the harder on me. A side I had never really seen of her. I realized that she was as cute as she was gorgeous, and a part of me vowed to learn all of her good and bad sides.

Rias grabbed my hand as I felt a teleportation circle build at our feet. With a bright flash we found ourselves in her living room?

My eyes widened, as I looked around her 'living room' and saw various different objects. Ranging from different japanese artifacts, arcade machines, and a lot of light novels, manga, and limited edition anime figurines.

My eyes scanned the entire room for minutes, all the while, Rias remained quiet, settling for just watching me.

"I thought your room in the Gremory house had enough." I whispered.

Rias' face started burning a bright shade of red. "W-Well, I've always been interested in japanese culture, and a ton of games and manga happen to come from here."

I grasped her shoulders softly, my eyes sparkling like any true gamers.

"Let's get married this instant!" I demanded. Rias looked at me for a moment, utterly speechless, but I didn't even wait for a response as I ran to the most interesting sight in the entire room. Sitting on one of the shelves was a crimson PS5.

I paused as I reached my hand out to brush against the perfectly polished case of Sony's newest console. A singular tear falling out of my eye.

"...It's beautiful."

"Want to play?" Rias asked over my shoulder with a competitive grin.

—-

"Isamu! I need help over here!"

"Why are you so far away!?"

"I saw some guys on this building, you would have known if you weren't so busy hitting poses."

I frowned as I started making my way over to her in-game.

Rias and I had been playing games for the last five hours or so. Switching in between games at a decent pace.

Apparently devils can easily mod games, so imagine my surprise when Rias pulled out Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The game was completely modded over, to the point where two people could play at the same time. Rias was currently playing as Spider-Gwen and was fighting a bunch of enemies on the roof of a building, while I was playing as Miles and had spent the last hour or so just jumping off the roofs of high buildings and striking poses.

"I pull up!" I said, as my Miles landed on her building and started helping her fight.

"Use your special web abilities!" Rias urged, and I raised an eyebrow as I tried to remember how to do that again.

One of the larger brutes got a hold of Gwen and absolutely crushed her, killing her easily.

Rias wasted no time in turning off the game console and getting up from the couch. She was pacing back and forth angrily, but only one thought crossed my mind.

Rias is a rage quitter.

It wasn't the first time she'd done this tonight, and usually it was because of my own inability to play games, considering my parents didn't allow me to have game consoles. Can I really be blamed for that?

"My bad." I chuckled, as I put the controller down.

Rias rubbed her temples for a few moments before her gaze softened. "You're not good, but it's not your fault. Hopefully you will improve in the future."

I kinda felt bad, but at the same time, she was the one who died.

"Yeah, it was fun though, we should definitely do this again." I smiled, getting up and stretching my body.

"Agreed." Rias nodded as she pulled out her phone.

"Wow, it's almost 6 in the morning, we should really get some sleep."

"Then I'll be going." I said, walking over to her to give her a kiss goodbye, only to be stopped by her hand on my chest.

"Why do you need to go home? I have plenty of room here." She chuckled with a mischievous glint in her eyes.

I'm an absolute gamer when it comes to competitive games. So much so, that this chapter actually hurt to write. Like it genuinely was hard to type this up.
