Simple terms

Sunjack couldn't believe it. Not only did the babies come out the woods by themselves,-a few days early at that- they also came to the aid of the city, managing to take out a few Kinga soldiers by themselves. All of them already moved like a univied force that even he would've had trouble dealing with. They even made their own weapons already. He didn't want to believe it but some were already walking around with bows and arrows. At most other batches of babies were capable of just using a sharp rock, if smart enough make a slingshot. But this one was way beyond every previous batch.

Then Sunjack looked at one goblin specifically, double checking after rubbing his eyes. No, he wasn't going crazy. Now he was sure that that baby was a dark skinned goblin, a hailan, just like his father is. These variations of goblins were extremely rare, but if they were seen, you could be sure that they were born to be leaders. This batch of children was truly one of the best they ever had, some of these kids could assist in saving the state. And the responsibility to protect them, the future, fell only on Sunjack. "You kids need to come with me!" He said to them before grabbing at the dark skinned baby's hand. He pulled at him but that baby hauled his hand back before another one jumped infront him. That one had his two Spears at the ready. Now all other baby goblins were looking Sunjack like they were looking at a dangerous predator.

Sunjack grunted, slapping his face in frustration. He pointed at his house, the door was open and more civilian's were peaking through it, mostly women. "Safe! It's safe there, you need to hide!" Sunjack yelled in simple terms. But the babies were unresponsive to his demands, instead the hailan -most definitely the leader of the group.- looked towards the center of the city, were the city hall was. You could hear the battle cries of men in combat and clashes of blades. "No!" Sunjack yelled, jumping infront of the dark skinned baby, blocking his vision, then he pointed towards his house again. "Not there! That place is dangerous! Go there! Safe, it's safe!" The other civilian's jumped to Sunjack side and joined him. "He's right!" One yelled, "Too dangerous!" "Kingas are waiting." The another one cautioned.

They were absolutely right. While some soldiers where rampaging through the city aimlessly, most of them were trying to take the city hall. Sunjack thought that now at least the kids would understand what he was trying to say and that they would listen. But instead the dark skinned babie grinned, then he ran past Sunjack. The short trimmed goblin tried to grab him but he slipped by him, past him. The others followed suit, and like a pack of wolves they went towards the center of the city.

"Dammit!" Yelled Sunjack, clenching his fist in frustration. He looked towards his house, then back at the babies, finally, he looked at the floor. "Maybe someone else can g-" "SUNJACK!" the voice came from his house and when Sunjack looked back, it was his mother, who now stood at the doorframe. "Mother...?" Sunjack said softly.

Maaly looked at Sunjack with a avid determination, "If the enemy finds out that a hailan has been born here, they will kidnap him or worse." "I know mother, but what about you!?" "The enemies in this area have already been cleared, all of us can also hide in the house, and even if someone finds us we can surprise them with our men. YOU need to save those kids Sunjack! Only you are strong enough."

Rand, Sunjacks neighbor, grabbed the goblin his shoulder. "Your mother is right. Your the only warrior that's among us, and we can't afford to lose that batch of children. Don't worry, well keep this area safe."

Sunjack looked at the pavement again, then back at his mother, he smiled. "Your right, i'll be back shortly mother! Rand!" Then he was sprinting after the kids, hoping he could bring them back safely.

Of course Jaren knew what the people behind him wanten. Jaren just didn't want to hide, actually he couldn't even if he wished to. Jafari sent him on a mission: To safe the city elder from the attack. Apparently he had foreseen his death and if Jaren wanted to become a future emperor, the God said this would give Jaren the best chance.

At this moment he was running towards the city center and his group was just behind him. Pipin caught up to him, "Boss, can you tell us were we are going now." "Pipin, I already told you what we were doing here. We are protecting this camp from the Invaders, and we aren't done just yet. The real battle is up ahead!" Pipin looked ahead, the flames deeper in city made the place look like daytime. "Is there anything I can do?" "No, all we can do right now is to explore and do as we go ."

Gooba caught up to them too, his face transpiring from worries, then pointed behind them. When Jaren and Pipin looked they saw the short trimmed goblin following them a short distance behind them. "He-HE ISN'T LEAVING US ALONE BOSS!" Jaren only looked only for a few seconds, even locking eyes with the trimmed goblin for a moment. Then he faced forward once more, "Don't stress about it Gooba, he alone can not do anything all of us. Worst case scenario, he'll just take me and force you guys to follow him. But don't worry, I won't let it get to that." "Shall I send a few of us to take him out?" Pipin asked. "Nono, he's not an enemy." Jaren quickly responded. Again Pipin responded with a "yes boss!" and kept running.

Pipin sure was obedient, but Jaren still wasn't that sure about him. He wasn't an equel to Jaren like Bleux was, in both strength, and leadership. But from all of Jaren's current group he showed the most promise, and loyalty. That's why he became the right hand man after Bleux left. Still Pipin had to prove his worth, and the boss was sure he knew that.

Shortly after they arrived at the city center; it was a grey circular building made from stone with dark wooden planks as it's roof. It was cone shaped. There were also two doors leading into it at the front and the back. The building was three stories high with windows dotted all the second storie. All the roads from the city led to that spot so it could be easily found.

Not that it mattered at the moment. Because of the fire, alot of the buildings have collapsed blocking all kinds of paths in the city.

Just like the screams earlier predicted, a fierce battle was going on. Around fifty men were fighting at the spot. With one side defending the building by encircling it, and the other side trying to breach the defense. The defendants their armour was brown, with a chest piece, a helmet, with a black cloth body suit underneath. The helmets had little horns on top of them. These goblins probably were the city guards. The attackers wore the exact same as the first enemies Jaren saw when he first came into the city. Jaren was pretty sure that they were the ones attacking the city.

But off all enemies one stood out. He was wielding a enormous axe that was just as tall as he was. Whenever he swung that weapon somebody went flying, and a gust of wind followed. That man was just as fast and vicious as a beast. He cackeled laudly as he swung that axe to the floor, breaking the ground and causing a small crater. Jaren didn't know if he saw it correctly, but it also looked like a small tornado formed.

Many goblins around him trembled and lost ballance. Even his allies. He yelled something in his foreign language and a few of his men around him stood up immediately. That goblin then continued to mow down the defenders until he made a hole in their defense. Quickly, he went past the city guards to the door of the city hall, kicking it open and going in. Four of his men managed follow him in.

At a split second Jaren had to make his battle plan, giving commands almost immediately. "Cycle, you take your squad and assist the goblins in the brown. Attack the black soldiers from the back." "Thank you boss!" Cycle responded with a smile, leaving for the battlefield right after. Jaren then looked behind him towards the piranhas, the wildest and most in numbers among them, then he yelled, "All of you, JOIN HIM!" Without hesitation they followed cycle.

"What about us boss?" Pipin asked. "You just need to stay by my side Pipin, as for Gooba, I have other plans for you. Follow my lead!"

Jaren ran past the all soldiers, through the same opening that the previous enemy soldiers took just before it closed. Few managed to see jaren and the others slipping by, but they just couldn't process the fact that there were children just running past them. So they couldn't really react.

By that time Jaren was already in the building, he left the rest Cycle.

Inside the building there were two dead bodies from the city guards. Those enemy goblins must've made quick work them. Jaren had to be fast, that's cause he knew exactly what they were wanted to achieve. The opposite of what Jaren wanted. Trying to kill the city elder.

He took the stairs to the second floor, "This is were we'll need you Gooba!" He said while arriving. On this floor, the four bowmen from earlier weren't aiming to the outside. No, now they were using their daggers to fend off the four attackers that just came upstairs. Though the one with the axe was missing. 'Could it be that he's already facing of against the city elder upstairs.' Jaren thought, he quickly called out to his subordinates, "Gooba, Pipin, both of you stay stay here and help the bowmen. I'll go upstairs." "Yes boss, are you sure you can go alone." Pipin asked.

"Of course I can!" Jaren said as he was now running up the stairs. He gripped his spear, as he knew that the strong goblin with the axe would be there.
