Nick was slightly taken aback when he heard that, not because he was displeased, but because he was surprised. When he had agreed to take Michel as his student, Vincent had had a similar idea, but Nick had declined.
Nick refused for two reasons. First, he was already a renowned teacher in Lossangles City, having taught many prominent families' children, so he didn't need support from the Roberts family. Second, he only accepted the top students. Although the three Roberts sons were all talented, the eldest, Michel, had far superior potential. For the sake of his own reputation, he only took Michel as his student.
But from his perspective, Alex had no reason to refuse. Although Alex was indeed exceptionally talented, he was still very young and needed the backing of prominent families to build his reputation.
