Cap⁵ A gloomy day.

Glegory is eager because he will soon be attending school. He is excited and looks forward to making new friends in his new learning stage.

Eiden, Beltrán's only son, and Sacha, Aina's only daughter, also live in his house. With Glegory turning seven, it is time for Eiden and Sacha to learn to fight and survive as well.

Although Sacha and Eiden enjoy playing with Glegory, he tends to isolate himself from them due to his protective and cautious nature. Glegory has a great affection for his cousins but avoids going into the woods when they play, fearing that something bad might happen. For that reason, he is not very sociable with them.

However, when Sacha or Eiden get sick, Glegory quickly goes into the forest in search of medicinal plants to help them heal. This gesture shows how much he loves them and cares about their well-being.

Sacha and Eiden are excited to learn to fight, as they see how much fun Glegory has while training with Beltrán. Their admiration for him motivates them to want to be like Glegory.

Four days have passed since Glegory learned that he will be going to school, and only one day is left. He is tremendously excited about this new experience.

One day, while Glegory is at home, Beltrán calls him urgently.

-"Hey, Glegory, come here, I have something to tell you!"- says Beltrán in a mysterious tone.

Glegory runs to his uncle, filled with curiosity.

-"Glegory, would you like to go shopping? I promise I'll buy you something delicious,"- says Beltrán with a smile on his face.

Glegory pauses for a moment, as he has never been to the city before and is unfamiliar with that unknown world. Finally, he responds:

-"Alright, I'll go to the city just because you'll buy me something delicious."-

They prepare to go to the city but decide to do it secretly so that the elders of the family don't see them. Glegory feels a mix of excitement and intrigue at the idea of visiting the city. They walk for a while until they finally catch sight of the imposing castle of the king, leaving Glegory amazed by its grandeur and luxury.

Upon reaching the city entrance, they must show their identifications. However, something strange happens when the guard takes their identifications disdainfully, as if dealing with dirty animals. Glegory doesn't understand why the treatment is so derogatory.

-"Well, well, what do we have here? Some filthy peasants,"- says one of the guards contemptuously. -"Where do you come from, you scum?"- adds the other guard, mocking them.

The guards make fun of their appearance, but Beltrán responds, trying to calm the situation:

-"Excuse me, sir, we are just peasants coming from the forest. We come in peace, we just want to do some shopping and then leave."-

One of the guards spits in Beltrán's face and laughs at him. Glegory, filled with anger, tries to hit the guard, but Beltrán stops him and says:

-"No, Glegory, this is normal for me. Don't worry."-

Despite Beltrán's words, the anger inside Glegory keeps growing. The guard, infuriated by what Beltrán says, threatens:

-"So, this is normal for you, huh? Well, let's see if it's also normal for you, you bastard."-

The guard grabs Beltrán's arm and trips him, causing him to fall to the ground and hit his head. The guards start kicking his stomach and face. Glegory tries to attack the guard again, but Beltrán stops him. The guards continue beating Beltrán for several minutes while he endures the pain and anger. Finally, the guards step away from Beltrán, leaving him injured and bleeding from his mouth and nose. With great effort, Beltrán gets up, and while the guards growl at him, they say:

-"You're lucky we're in a good mood, or else you'd be dead. Now go into the city, I don't have all day."-

Beltrán enters the city with Glegory, but the latter says worriedly:

-"Uncle, I think you're not okay. We should go back home."-

Beltrán responds with a smile:

-"It's alright, don't worry. I'm strong and resilient, Glegory. Besides, I have to buy you something delicious."-

Once inside the city, Glegory realizes that everything is in complete chaos. People are stealing, selling drugs, killing, and committing scams. The city is plagued with corruption and misdeeds.

After finishing their shopping, Beltrán buys Glegory a honeyed bread and hands it to him, saying:

-"This is something delicious, Glegory. Try it."-

Glegory savors the bread and is delighted, asking Beltrán to buy more to take home. Reluctantly, Beltrán agrees to his request.

As dusk falls, they decide to quickly return home due to the city's danger. When they arrive, Beltrán is exhausted and badly injured, which frightens his family. Worried, they ask him what happened.

-"It was just a bad moment to go to the city,"- Beltrán responds in a soothing tone.

They give him medicine to alleviate the pain, but Aina, angry, says:

-"How could you take Glegory to the city? Imagine if something bad had happened to him too."-

Beltrán smiles and replies:

-"Don't worry, Glegory is strong enough to take care of himself. But he is too valuable to risk with some simple guards."-

Aina angrily retorts:

-"But if something had happened to Glegory, you would be dead."-

Beltrán keeps smiling and concludes:

-"Everything is fine, don't worry so much."-

Night falls, and everyone goes to sleep, but Glegory is still tormented by what he witnessed in the city. With his pent-up anger, he hits several trees, destroying them with a single blow. His fury is so intense that he can't stop thinking about it. At that moment, his grandmother approaches him and lovingly says:

-"Relax, Glegory. People are like that, they think they are superior to others and mock them. But do you know why they do it?"-

Glegory, with a bewildered look, replies:

-"No, grandmother. I don't understand why people can be so mean."-

His grandmother explains:

-"Glegory, people are like that because they are afraid and cowardly. If you respond to them with violence, you would be even more cowardly than they are. But I know that you are not a coward and that you won't stoop to their level. Right, Glegory?"-

Glegory looks at his grandmother with determination and answers:

-"Yes, grandmother. I'm not a coward, and I never will be. You can be sure of that."-

His grandmother looks at him affectionately and says:

-"Very well, now that everything is fine, you must go to sleep. Tomorrow is your first day of school."-

Glegory feels happy and goes to sleep, feeling more at ease. However, his grandmother, concerned about what Glegory might do if he gets angry and she's no longer there to advise him, thinks to herself:

-"If Glegory's mindset remains the same, he might, without someone to guide him on the right path, destroy and cause harm to everything in front of him just to seek revenge."-
