"You still have time to change things," I urged X, my voice tinged with desperation. "It's not too late. The dark powers you're tapping into have consumed you, but there's still something in you that wants to fight against the darkness."
Xander's expression softened, revealing the turmoil within him. "My worth was tied to a legacy I had no control over," he confessed, his voice heavy with regret. "Would I always be judged by the missteps of my past, abandoned by those who should have stood by me through thick and thin?"
"You're not judged, X," I reassured him, reaching out to touch his arm gently. "I was an illegitimate son, my mom worked in a brothel. Even society judged me."
His gaze drifted to his younger self lying unconscious on the hospital bed. "Did you know what was going through my mind at that moment?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
