Giving The Female Lead A Happy Ending At All Costs To Save My Soul

Katarina had a picture perfect life: everlasting wealth, a loving husband, and everything she could ever want, but it all ended when she caught him and sister in bed together! To top it all, her husband ended up killing her after completely ruining her life. Luckily for her, she was granted a second chance to live. But, there was ONE clause. Katarina woke up in a story, as the main character of the book. In order to leave the story and return to her original life, she has to grant the female lead a happy and satisfying ending no matter what. The story’s female lead’s life was quite pathetic. She was blind, weak and bullied, and her betrothed who she was supposed to get married to, is fucking female lead’s step sister right under female lead’s nose. Katarina didn’t expect this quest to be an easy one, but she also didn’t expect it to be complicated to the extent of people wanting the weak female lead dead. ——— | ——— “Do I look like a fucking baby sitter to you?” He demanded, sounding as outraged as he looked. I let out a frustrated breath, knowing I was in no place to flare up since I’m the one in need right now. “No, your highness, you do not.” “Then why do you keep asking me t–” “Because my life is on the line!” I exclaimed urgently. His eyes narrowed and he scoffed. “What has that got to do with me? Do I look like I care? Cause I promise you that I do not.” “Because you need me, your highness. You know you do, even though you refuse to admit it.” I blurted out. A scowl settled on his handsome face. “Stop saying nonsense, you delusional weirdo.” “We both need each other and that’s the truth, so it’s best I don’t lose my life just yet, don’t you think so?”

The Dilemma Continues

Katarina's POV

They had really cheated on me. George and Riley had really slept with each other and treated me like shit. Treated me like I didn't matter.

How could they do that?

It was morning and I was awake looking at the ceiling with the events of the other day killing me.

How could he do this to me? I was mad at everything that had happened. Who did he think he was?

And my own sister? I couldn't wait to give her a piece of my mind.

At some point I started to beat myself up for being so stupid that I would run away from the responsibility of fighting for my own home.

Why would I do such a thing? I was to stay there and fight for what was rightfully mine.

She was no longer a child for me to treat her as such. I would treat her as a grown ass human.

My phone buzzed as I looked at it to find it to be from a lawyer.

"What does he want?" I muttered before picking up the call.

"Hello," I said with a slight sigh.

"Mrs Katarina?" The man's stern voice cracked over the phone. I wouldn't say that I liked the man but he was always on my husband's side whenever a decision was to be made legally, no matter how wrong it was.

"Yes?" I responded lazily.

"It has come to my understanding that your husband moved all your shares which are in both your names to that of his name and a miss Riley."

My heart broke at the sound of that. Who did he think he was doing that to me? Why would he do that kind of thing?

"I'm sure there is some misunderstanding somewhere," I chuckled nervously. "You see, my husband would never do that because he would… he would need my signature for any action committed. I hope you understand."

"Miss, if you doubt me then you should come into my office today. Let's talk about this."

I was ready to take that offer. There was no way George would do that. I was still his legal wife. For him to move that, then he would need to take me out of his legal contract as his wife and take away the shares given to me, not the profits. I would still have a ton of money. But to send everything to my sister's name was too much.

I had to check in with the lawyer and hear what he would say.

"Give me a few minutes," I said, cutting the call to run and have my bath, before running out to change into my old outfit.

I had not had the chance to take out a better outfit for myself so I was going to wear the old outfit I had.

It reeked of sweat and an old perfume smell from the other day. But since I didn't have any choice of outfit I would wear what I had.

I looked around to see that my phone was on the table, which I grabbed and ran out of the room, heading for my car.

"Ma'am, we thank you for…" the receptionist's voice trailed off in the distance as I ran out of the hotel and got into my car.

While there, I took in deep breaths, readying myself for the news I was about to encounter from the lawyer. He had to have made a mistake in the things he was doing.

I drove through the slow traffic that morning and headed for the lawyers office.

When I entered, I saw so many people staring at me, but I knew it was because of the outfit I had on.

When I got to the office, I barely knocked before getting into the office.

There at his desk was Mr Terrence, the lawyer in his black suit. He looked up to see me and smiled to his feet.

"Welcome," he said, pointing to a seat before his desk. "Are you okay? You seem… stressed."

"Yes," I sighed, falling into the chair. "I am stressed and tired but here to talk with you."

"On the issue?" he asked.

"Yes. That is why I am here. I couldn't quite hear you clearly because I didn't believe that my husband, George, would do what he did. So I ask again, what happened? Was his account hacked or robbed or…"

"Actually his account is fine," he sat down, straightening his suit. "He has one of the finest security in the country so there is no way his account can be hacked."

"So what happened?"

"Like I said over the call, he moved all of your shares which were in your name and his name to his name and a miss Riley. I think you should know who that is."

"Riley is my sister. Don't act like you don't know who she is."

"Apologies, ma'am. I was only trying to make sure and not make assumptions. But yes, he changed your name and replaced it with that of your sister's."

I was fuming and mad at this new development. What was going on?

I stood up to excuse myself as I ran out of his office hiding the tears from passersby.

Running nonstop while my vision was blurred by tears, I ran into my car, driving straight for my parents' house. Whatever Riley had done to have my husband for herself, I would expose her to my parents so that they can be as shocked as I had been on catching her in bed with my husband. I would be the one having the last laugh.

How could she even do that to me? Thinking about that still hurts so much.

When I got to the destination, I parked my car in the garage only to see a familiar car there.

That looked like George's car, however, I shook my head and refused to believe that it was his own.

What could he be doing here anyway?

But I got the shock of my life when I entered the house only to see George and Riley on the couch, sitting together, hand in hand while my parents were smiling at them radiantly.

"What?!"
