HARUKA'S BIRTHDAY

-Haruka POV-

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!"

I was shocked at the sudden celebration. Happy birthday? Wait, what date is it today? Is it my birthday today? I look around. Everyone is here, or, should I say, my family is here.

"Ugh, onii-chan, what's wrong with your reaction? Don't tell me you forgot today is your birthday." Hanabi spoke from the crowd.

"Well, actually I forgot." I said that with an awkward smile.

"Mattaku (really), you're always like that. Then let's say it again, everyone." Hanabi shouted.

"Happy Birthday, Haruka Charles Auclair!" For the second time, they wish me a happy birthday. I really didn't expect this.

"Thank you, everyone. Really, thank you." I smiled sincerely. Suddenly, the light was turned off.

"Now that the main character of the event has arrived, let's cut the cake. Make a wish, Mr. Auclair." Levi came out of nowhere and is now standing in front of me, holding the cake. I close my eyes to make a wish and then blow off the candle.

"YEAY!!!" Everyone cheered happily.

"Happy birthday, Haru-chan." Levi whispered in my ears, and soon after that, the lights were on again. I can see him smiling.

"Please feel free to enjoy the food and drinks, everyone. "You can also take pictures with the main character." Levi said that with a chuckle. This guy, I'm going to hit him later.

"Mr. Auclair, happy birthday. This, this is from me and David." Sophia and David came to me, giving me a birthday present.

"Thank you, Sophia, David. I appreciate it." I replied with a smile and took the present from her. They just smiled.

"Onii-chan, tanjoobi omedeto! (Happy birthday!)." Hanabi hugged me from behind.

"This is for you. Another one from Lauren." She handed me two presents. I looked at Lauren, and she just nodded.

"Hai, hai. Arigato, my cute, pretty, genius younger sister. Thank you, Lauren." Again, she just replied with a nod.

"Then I'm going to eat. I even asked Levi-san to order my favourites." With that, he grabbed Lauren's hand and left to eat.

"Happy birthday, Charles." Someone from behind patted me on the shoulder.

"Grandfather. Thank you. Where is grandmother?" I asked, and I hugged my grandfather.

"She's been talking to the chairman's wife for a while now. You know, they're like close friends." My grandfather said, pointing at both my grandmother and Levi's grandmother laughing together. He's not wrong, though.

"Haha. You're right. Didn't you meet the chairman, grandfather?" I asked him.

"Oh, I met him with Levi this morning. That kid, he even begged me to cancel the trip to the Cayman Islands in order to celebrate your birthday here. I planned to celebrate your birthday in Cayman Islands this year, you see." My grandfather said, and that made me shocked.

"Levi Ackerman asked you to do that? Why did he do that?" I asked in disbelief.

"Charles, I told you. He wanted us to celebrate your birthday here. He really likes you that much, huh?" My grandfather teased me.

"What are you saying, grandfather? It's just that I'm his secretary, that's all. There's no way he would…"

"Ah, Dr. Auclair, it's wonderful to see you again." The Chairman appeared out of nowhere with Levi beside him.

"Ah, Chairman. We just met this morning, haha." My father laughed, patting the Chairman's shoulder.

"It's nice to see you again, Dr. Auclair. I hope you do enjoy the celebration," Levi said, bowing.

"Hahaha, this kid. You really did exceed my expectations." My grandfather said that, and Levi just replied with a smile.

"Dr. Auclair, let's have a drink together. We should also let them have a talk alone." The chairman said that and dragged my grandfather away.

"Right. Your mother and father will be coming later, Charles." With that, my grandfather left with the Chairman, leaving the two of us alone here.

"So, you're the one who..." Again. Someone cut me off again.

"Haru-chan, happy birthday!" Someone hugged me from behind, and it was my sister Harumi. Everyone really loves to pop up out of nowhere.

"Harumi onee-san, you're here too." I didn't expect my sister to be here either. Usually, she would come later to join the dinner.

"Mattaku (really). I already booked a flight to the Cayman Islands because our grandfather said we'd be celebrating your birthday there. But this Levi kid really sent me an Ackerman Private Jet just so I can get here on time." My sister said, putting her hand on Levi's shoulder like a close friend.

"I'm sorry about that. Well, I'm Levi Ackerman, and I did tell you that I will pay back for the plane ticket, right?" Levi said that casually and took my sister's hand off of his shoulder.

"Right, you're Levi Ackerman, and don't you forget that I'm Harumi Charles Auclair, the most famous actress in the US. The plane ticket is nothing, so you don't have to pay me back." My sister glared at him. Well, Harumi onee-san gets along with everyone just fine, that's why she always acts freely. She's the most honest.

"Umm, it's nothing onee-san. Well, I'm surprised you made it here on time when you said you just finished filming for your next movie last night." Right, it took about 8 hours from New York to Paris.

"I told you he sent me the Ackerman Private Jet and got it ready the day before." That aside, I'm more surprised he even managed to drag the busy Oliver here." My sister said, looking at someone. It's Oliver.

"Brother Charles, it's been a while. Happy birthday. Here, for you." Oliver said, handing me a paper bag.

"Oliver, it's been so long since we last met. Thank you." I hugged him and took the paper bag.

"Didn't expect our busy Doctor Oliver would come." My sister said that, teasing Oliver.

"Sister Christine, you should know being a doctor means being busy. Are you alone, Sister Christine? I didn't see brother Chris either." Oliver asked, realising my sister is here alone. Right, I forgot to ask about her husband and Aveline.

"My husband and Aveline will be here tonight. And that stupid brother of mine, Chris, I don't know either since I've just arrived. You doctors are sure to be really busy, ugh." My sister said, feeling annoyed.

"Haha. That's our job. Isn't that right, Brother Charles?" Oliver replied awkwardly, looking at me.

"You're right, being a doctor must be very busy. But they saved me from dying five years ago, so I'm really grateful for the doctors." Before I could reply, Levi spoke first.

"Ah, Mr. Ackerman. I'm sorry I didn't greet you first. Thank you for calling me and inviting me." Oliver said politely. Oliver is one of the most polite among us.

"No worries. You're the Auclair Family, of course you should be here, and I should be the one to thank you for coming despite your busy schedule." Levi replied with a sincere smile.

"No, that's okay. I didn't make it last year, so I want to be able to make it this year, and it's been a while since I met the family here, so that's great for me." Being polite is one thing, Oliver's voice is even softer than Hanabi, making everyone couldn't even get mad at him.

"Oh my, it's Oliver onii-chan. It's been a while." Hanabi appeared out of nowhere with a plate of dessert.

"Charlotte, it's good to see you." Oliver smiled.

"Guess what? I already finished my studies, and now I'm doing my internship at the main hospital." Hanabi said with a grin. Aside from me, Hanabi always looks up to Oliver, too. Well, I can say they're close enough despite living far away from each other, and Oliver has always spoiled her.

"I'm glad to hear that. You did a fantastic job, Charlotte." Oliver said with a smile, giving her a thumbs up.

"Right? We have a lot to talk about later. Be sure to come to the main residence later! For now, let's just enjoy the food." Hanabi replied and left. To eat all her desserts, I guess.

"She's still as bright as always." Oliver chuckles.

"You're right. Well, since it's been a while, why don't you accompany me, Oliver? Let's grab the food and leave these two alone, shall we?" My sister dragged Oliver away, leaving Levi and I alone here. Wait, it's just me and him now.

"Aren't you going to eat, Mr. Auclair?" Levi broke the silence between us.

"I don't feel like eating right now." I responded without looking at him.

"That makes me sad. I planned this for you and made sure everyone could come. I even picked your favourite cake for you. You should at least eat them." Levi said with a sad voice, which didn't even suit him.

"So, this is the thing you said you need to do today?" Ignoring his whining, I asked a question instead.

"Well, yeah. You're right, Mr. Auclair. You're a genius. Surprise! Happy birthday, Haru-chan." He grinned after saying that.

"I told you not to call me that. And why are you doing this, btw?" I asked, looking at him this time.

"What do you mean by this?" He asked me back.

"This birthday celebration, of course, Why would you even hold a party at the company?" I didn't get this man, seriously.

"Because you said you wanted to celebrate a normal birthday party with your family. So this is the best I could think of. Inviting all your family members and celebrating your birthday here." He said that sincerely, I could tell that.

"And exactly why, why would you do that for me?" I mumbled, looking down at my own two feet.

"I told you, didn't I? I love you, that's why."
