Sitting in front of Sona, Karma was extremely calm as he waited for her to start speaking. Sona looked at him for a moment and then started speaking, " hello Miguell-san let me introduce us first. My name is Sona Sitri heiress of the Sitri clan. This is my queen Tsubaki Shinra..........( I skiped others you know them already ) now that introductions are over, tell me something, why are you here? ".

Karma looked at Sona and said " you must already know about me so let me cut to the chase. I've come here looking for protection ".

Sona looked at him with a small smile and said " for someone as strong as you and your family to run from a enemy or enemies, they must be quite powerful right? and yet you came to two high class devil with weaker peerage to ask for protection who just so happen to have a brother or a sister as a Maou. Your real purpose are the Maou right? Tell me Miguell-san why should a Maou bother with you? what can you give them? and as you can see I don't really have any appropriate piece to revive someone as strong as you ".

Karma heard her words but didn't show any reaction on his face so Sona couldn't analyze what he was thinking so she just waited for him to speak. She was sure that she hit the mark with her deductions for his pupose and left Karma at a loss for words. But Karma was simply amused hearing her. She was right about him seeking the Maou for protection but she was wrong for the rest of the part.

" You're quite smart miss Sitri. To deduce all of that just from a simple sentence and some unprofessional investigation, you're quite good. And you're right I don't have anything to give to the Maou to protect me except for myself but I think Shirzech-sama will be happy to have me join Rias-san's peerage " answered Karma with a small smile on his face.

Sona looked at him confused at his confidence so she couldn't help but ask " you're right, Rias will happily accept you in her peerage but why do you think Shirzech-sama will be happy as well? "

Karma looked at Sona confidently and glanced at Saji before answering " there's a reason I said that your investigation was unprofessional Miss Sona. Let me ask something, Rias-san has a fiancé right? I heard he's quite a womanizer and Rias-san doesn't like him at all so she is quite desperate to escape from him " saying till here he looked at the shocked face of Sona and her peerage before continuing with a small smile, " Shirzech-sama is known for doting on her little sister very much but he can't do anything regarding her engagement directly, BUT he can help her with my help ".

Sona now looked extremely shocked after hearing him. She was childhood friends with Rias so she knew the predicament of her friend how she's trying so hard to escape from it by trying to get strong and that's why she was sitting here talking with Karma, to make sure he was right for her peerage. She also knew that this problem can't be solved even with the help of Shirzech-sama so she was quite excited to hear how he can help her friend. Plus his investigation ability is also quite good.

Karma knew what she was thinking. She was quite easy to read. She has a proud character, she thought she could put him on the spot with her flimsy deductions. Karma smirked and thought ' you're quite young to be competing with me my lady. I never go blind on a mission, even my contingencies have their contingency plan '

Sona eagerly asked him " I'm sorry for looking down on you Miguell-san but can you tell me more about it? you don't know how great of a help that will be to my friend ".

Karma already knew that he got what he needed and even if he didn't answer her he would still get into Rias' peerage but he didn't mind doing her this favour so he said " of course. You know that Shirzech-sama can't help Rias-san directly but he can still do it indirectly. As you know Rias-san's peerage is quite weak and inexperienced compared to Riser's but that will change with me joining her peerage I can train her peerage to become extremely strong by the time of her marriage. So all she has to do is propose a rating game to Riser and win it to break the engagement with him as you did with your fiancé by defeating him in chess. And considering Riser's prideful character, he will most likely except it if he doesn't want to be a laughing stock in front of everyone in underworld. Of course it won't be easy but we still have several years to grow strong and I believe Shirzech-sama will be happy to help her arrange a rating game with Riser "

Sona looked at Karma excitedly. She knew that this plan of his is good. She can't help but praise him. ' He's smart maybe even more that me and his intelligence gathering and deduction is also good maybe he can defeat me in chess if we play? no Sona what are you thinking ' Sona blushed while thinking to herself ' I can't deny that he's handsome though '.

Sona looked towards Tsubaki and said " can you go and call Rias here she will be happy to hear about this ". Tsubaki nodded and called Rias. Soon in a few minutes Rias walked in followed by her queen Akeno himejima.

Karma turned around to look at them and smiled and waved at both of them and both of them waved back at him with a smile. After the pleasantries, Sona went on to explain to both of them about his plan. Rias' eyes lit up after hearing about it she didn't even ask how he a 'human' knows so much about the devil noble families ( Sona assumed that he's strong so he's got his connections with powerful devils ) and directly went up to him and hugged him tightly while crying. Karma was at a loss for words he didn't know what to do so he simply hugged her and patted her head like he's comforting a crying child.

Akeno looked at her king with a small smile on her face she knew her king since her childhood. She knew her as cheerful little bundle of joy skipping and playing around everywhere everyday she still remembered her childhood with Rias playing without any care. Until Lord Gremory announced her engagement with Riser-sama one day. She still remembered that day Rias had hugged her tightly like now and cried herself to sleep. She knew that Rias was just a normal child who wanted to fall in love and marry her lover but instead she had her future dictated to her and her fiancé also turned out to be pervert womenizer. So Rias started to work really hard to get strong and prove to her family so that she can cancel her engagement but it was all for naught. In this regard she was extremely grateful for the boy who gave her a chance to escape from her fate and she was also curious of him. Even before joining them he had already become part of their family in the heart of her. She couldn't help but smile charmingly at the boy with tears at the corner of her eyes. She knew that Karma had done his part and now it was her turn to become stronger with her family to protect her king and her family.

If Karma knew what Akeno was thinking what would he think? guilty maybe? but he probably wouldn't care because he was doing it all for the safety of his sister.

After all the emotional drama was over, Rias brought out a bishop piece to reincarnate him into her peerage but Karma stopped her and said " it would be better if you could reincarnate me with a rook piece ". All of them looked at him with a puzzled expression and Sona couldn't he but ask " why rook? aren't you a magician? " Karma replied " I'm a magician but I'm a physical fighter and only use magic as augmentation. I know that you may think it as wasteful but believe me I know what I'm doing ".

Rias didn't question him any further and took out a mutated rook ( don't question plz ) and placed it in front of his chest. The chess piece shone brightly and entered his chest, after some light show, he was successfully reincarnated into a devil and sprouted devil wings from his back.

Rias was really happy to make him her rook he was like a prince charming to her who came to rescue her. She couldn't help but blush at this thought. She swore to herself to become strong and protect her family as their king.
