Chapter 46

“They left,” Jennet spoke, breaking the silence between them when she spotted the melancholy look in his eyes. However, she had a smug look on her as she entered the villa.

“What is with that smug face? Are you, perhaps jealous because I make friends with your close friends?” Hue asked as he followed her.

Jennet halted. “I am not,” she growled back at him. “Don’t get all mushy-mushy with them because they are married. Their husbands will not be happy about it.”

“Why would I ever do that with your friends when I have you. I am married to you,” Hue frowned at her accusation. “Plus, I am loyal to you. Only you.”

Jennet grumbled as she went to the kitchen and cleared the table. If they get too chummy with him, there would be no telling when they would spill her dark secret to him. Thinking about it alone left her shivering in uneasiness.
