The only way to deal with fear is to face it. Avoiding our fears only prevents us from moving forward—it makes us anxious. But is this applicable to Jerrod? Or would it cause more danger to him?

Jerrod doesn't think of that and just wonders if it would really end the horror of the ghost.

"Should I try it?" he mumbled. He stared at the 2 foot tall cabinet hanging on Larissa's wall. Based on his experience, no matter the size of the cabinet, the ghost could come out of it like Sadako crawling out of a TV. There is a high chance that the ghost might appear again, but suddenly he wanted to be brave.

Where did this courage come from?

Why did he suddenly want to face his fears?

Well, Jerrod is actually no longer courageous. His braveness has been drained out since the day the ghost first appeared in front of him.
