In the following days, Liliana still thought that Lucas was acting oddly despite him showing his usual energetic self and easy smile.
"If you're tired, go and rest early. We can handle it," said Liliana once when she caught Lucas frowning deeply before sighing softly.
The answer to her concern was a smirk from the younger man.
"Me? Tired? My body doesn't know that term."
After a few teasing from him, Lucas would scurry away, saying that he had tasks to do. He wittily reminded Liliana to be a stricter boss.
It was obvious that he tried to drop the subject.
Actually, Liliana had the impulse to ask Lucas whether he was burdened by some trouble or not but, she was afraid that she would cross the line.
