Jennifer was stunned, her mind went blank.
For a moment, she felt like the whole world was spinning.
"You don't have to worry, my doctor told me that as long as he remove the tumor in my brain and I recover slowly after the surgery, there won't be any problems," Davis said softly. "Jennifer, it's my fault. I shouldn't have tied you to me. I should have acknowledged the truth instead of pretending not to notice, and selfishly enjoying your presence without a second thought."
"Even though I can't be your lover, I'm still your brother, your forever brother," Davis continued, "My silly girl, I don't want you to spend your whole life like this. Be brave and seek your own happiness, okay? The person I truly love is the free-spirited and unrestrained you, who dares to love and hate."
Jennifer didn't speak, tears still falling uncontrollably down her face.
She apologized, "I'm sorry, Davis."
She held onto her phone tightly, slowly sliding down the wall.
