Chapter 26: The Grand Opening of the Community Center

With the exterior of the community center completed, it was finally time to turn their attention to the interior. Satoshi wanted the building to feel warm and welcoming—a place where everyone in Mondstadt would feel comfortable spending their time. He wanted the community center to reflect the spirit of Mondstadt itself: a city of freedom, friendship, and laughter.

Amber, Lisa, and Jean were helping with decorating the interior, making sure every room had its own unique character. Amber was in charge of the recreational room, where she was setting up archery targets and organizing games for the kids. Lisa was handling the library area, carefully placing books on the shelves and creating a cozy reading nook by the large window. Jean was focused on the central gathering space, making sure there were enough tables, chairs, and comfortable seating for people to use.

Satoshi, meanwhile, was overseeing the installation of some of the more technical elements—a small workshop area with tools for crafting, a basic computer room for people to learn about the new technology, and a simple kitchen where community members could come together to cook meals.

"Alright, everyone," Satoshi called out, looking at the bustling activity around him. "We're almost ready for the big opening! Let's make sure everything is set up so we can give Mondstadt the community center it deserves."

Amber waved from across the room, a big smile on her face. "The kids are going to love this! I can't wait to show them all the games we have here. I'm planning to do some archery demonstrations too—that should get them excited!"

Lisa smiled as she placed the last book on a shelf. "And I'll be hosting a reading circle in the library corner. It's such a peaceful spot—perfect for getting lost in a good story."

Bennett, who was also helping with the opening, gave the kids a thumbs-up. "It's going to be awesome, guys! And don't worry—I'll make sure everything goes smoothly. No accidents today!"

Lisa chuckled, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "Well, let's hope so, Bennett. But even if there are a few mishaps, I'm sure everyone will have a great time."

Kaeya strolled in, his usual playful grin in place. "A community center, hm? I must say, Satoshi, you've outdone yourself. I might even stop by for one of Lisa's reading circles—as long as there's tea involved, of course."

Diluc, who had arrived with a donation of food and supplies from the Dawn Winery, gave Kaeya a sideways glance. "Somehow, I doubt you're coming for the books. But regardless, this is a wonderful initiative, Satoshi. The people of Mondstadt will benefit greatly from this."

Satoshi smiled, grateful for their support. "Thank you, Diluc. And thank you for the donation—it means a lot. This place is for everyone, and I'm glad to see so many people here today."

"And so, the brave hero ventured into the enchanted forest," Lisa read, her voice dramatic, "hoping to find the legendary treasure hidden beneath the old oak tree."

Venti nodded, his eyes wide with feigned suspense. "Ah, a classic tale of adventure! Just the kind of story I love."

Lisa rolled her eyes playfully. "If you know how it ends, Venti, please refrain from spoiling it for the rest of us."

In the kitchen area, Sucrose was helping some of the townspeople bake cookies, her cheeks flushed from the warmth of the oven. She smiled shyly as she watched the children excitedly shape the dough into various forms—stars, hearts, and even a few blobs that were supposed to be animals.

"You're doing great, everyone! Just remember, the most important ingredient is… um, fun!" Sucrose said, her voice soft but cheerful.

Bennett, who had joined in, nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah! And maybe a little sugar too. That always makes things taste better!"

Jean, meanwhile, was leading a group activity in the central gathering space. She had gathered some of the adults for a discussion on future events and activities for the community center. The participants shared their ideas, and Jean made sure everyone had a chance to speak.

"This community center belongs to all of us," Jean said, her voice filled with warmth. "If there's something you'd like to see here—a class, a workshop, or an event—let's work together to make it happen."
