Monster

Dazaree woke up early today because Troye promised her that he will help her learn her power. And since it's Sunday, the cafeteria is closed so they are free to do whatever they want like a rest day because there are no classes which also means no customers.

She feels excited because she's hoping she'll be able to learn how to control it. "I will try my best!" she blurted out the moment she went out of her room.

At the same moment, Fablo went out of their room and saw Dazaree talking to herself. Troye told him that Dazaree still can't control her power so he needs someone who can help her. He asked Fablo to help her too.

Even though he does not want to, he has no choice because he also thinks it will be dangerous if she doesn't learn how to control it.

Dazaree noticed Fablo and waved her hand. "Hello, Fablo!" She greeted him as she tried to hide the awkwardness that she's feeling towards him. "Where is Troye?" she asked.

She still doesn't know that Fablo will be in her training too.

"He's already on the rooftop," he said and walked his way to the stairs of the hallway.

"Are you joining us?" Dazaree queried when she noticed he's heading up.

Fablo looked at her and replied, "You don't want to?"

Dazaree widened her eyes and immediately shook her head and followed him upstairs. "N-no that's not what I mean! I'm just surprised. Don't you have work?"

Fablo didn't answer and just walked straight ahead. He just wants this over once and for all.

Meanwhile, Dazaree shut her mouth and just followed him to the rooftop where they are going to train. She heaved a deep sigh as she felt a little nervous.

"I hope I don't mess up," she thought to herself.

But then when they were near the rooftop, they heard Troye's voice inside their head.

"Don't come up. Retreat!" he said.

Fablo's eyes dilated and asked him why while Dazaree was confused.

"Just leave the place now," Troye told them but FAblo didn't listen and rushed to the rooftop. Dazaree who's still confused had no choice but to follow him because she's curious about what is happening above.

Meanwhile, Troye is looking at a man who suddenly appeared in front of him. No, it's not a man because it seems more like a monster. It looks horrendous because of its purple sticky skin and long fangs that reach up to its chin. It also has pointy sharp fins from its sleeve up to the back of its palms.

"Grgh...I told you… I just want… the girl...grgh," it said.

"What is he?" Troye pondered. It can talk but it doesn't look like a human. "Who are you talking about?" he asked as he maintained their distance because of the steam that his body is releasing. It's like it releases poison or acid.

"Grgh… the… grgh… girl…" it answered while looking down. Despite not knowing who it was talking about, Troye had a feeling that it was talking about Dazaree, which is why he told him not to head upstairs.

"Troye!" The rooftop door slammed open. "What's happening here?" Fablo exclaimed when he noticed the strange man in front.

Fablo rushed in front of Troye and said, "Stay back," while he's still staring at it. "What the heck is he?" he asked Troye.

"I don't know," he replied. "I told you to retreat."

Then Dazaree appeared behind him. "Troye?"

The strange man's attention immediately went to Dazaree, proving Troye's theory. He immediately went beside Dazaree and told her, "Leave now. He's going after you."

Dazaree's eyes dilated and looked at the man. She gulped when she realized it's not a human but she remained in her position. "Is that a human?" she asked.

"I don't know but that is not important now. He seems dangerous so you have to escape now," Troye replied.

"Both of you leave. I'll handle this," Fablo commanded without removing his gaze to the man.

Troye looked at him and said, "What? I can't leave you here alone."

"You don't know how to fight. You'll just be a burden to me here. Help her escape and ask the people to evacuate the building. We must avoid casualties," he stated.

"But--"

"Just leave!" Fablo stormed giving the two no choice but when they were about to head down, the man suddenly leaped in the rooftop door to obstruct their way.

"Fxck," Fablo blurted out and immediately pulled the two away from the door, thanks to his fast reflexes.

Now they won't be able to leave the rooftop.

The man grinned at them as a purple liquid dripped down from his mouth while staring at Dazaree. She shivered when she noticed that the man doesn't have an iris and pupils. Just plain white eyes.

"You… grgh…" the man pointed at her. "Come...grgh… she lookin' for you."

Dazaree gulped because of what he said. "Who are you talking about?" she questioned despite being terrified.

"That's useless. It's not in its right mind," Fablo interrupted. "I don't think it's a human."

"Wrong," Troye blurted out. "That is a person. He was turned like that by humans," he said as he tries to recollect the memory of the man.

"What?" Fablo exclaimed.

"I can't be mistaken with what I saw," Troye replied.

Dazaree looked at him and inquired, "So you're saying that there are people who turn humans into monsters?"

"Yeah. I don't know how they do it but they are scientists so they must've done something to make it possible," Troye said while he's still looking straight at the man's eyes, trying to gather more information.

"Are they the same people that were after us?" she asked him.

Troye shook his head and replied, "I don't think so."

"It doesn't matter now. This man is dangerous and is no longer human," Fablo said while looking at the man with an intent to kill.

He cannot let him escape because he might endanger the people. He does not want innocent people to die.

"Don't kill him!" Dazaree said. "He probably won't hurt us."

"I don't think so," Fablo answered. "I will buy you time to leave so don't hesitate," he told them.

The man grinned at them as hot steam came out of his mouth. "Heh," he said.

"No one… grgh-- is leaving… grh."
