Gene System

Blake is a young man who has had to suffer through devastation over and over again losing more than just an arm. With no power of his own he could barely stand a chance against others or even be deemed useful by the military. All he can do is accept his sister's help bitterly knowing he can't return it to the same effect. After a series of events a meeting with near death shocks him to his very core changing his life forever. Awakening a hidden element buried deep within his genetic code. The Gene System, an advanced complex genetic technology used to expand and improve the overall potential and direction of evolution for the user's genetic code naturally mapping out and directing where the user should go with the growth they obtain. Not much else is known, only that few on every planet are given one through unknown means. The current state of the world is racked with unbridled chaos as the military fruitless attempts to stop the atrocities committed by the organisation known as the Gene hunters. Seeking to steal and splice any genetic data they can get their hands on by whatever psychotic means whether it be dissection, slow harvesting or cloning ethics are not a concern. Hundreds of thousands have been affected by the gene hunters including Blake's family. Some are never seen again, just used as cows for genetic harvesting over and over again until they dried up never to see their families again. Changes have begun to sprout in the background of earth leading to more and more mysterious events occurring, genetic powers becoming stronger, animals becoming mutated and evolving faster than normal generational lines. All the while in the background an unknown force beyond human comprehension lurks just beyond the veil waiting patiently for the time to run out and indulge in his planet level feast devouring all life in sight. Blake will give his all to overcome these brutal circumstances by whatever means. No matter the pain, suffering or loss he will continue to go forward no matter the cost. Failure isn't a devastation but a stepping stone in his larger goal. In his pursuit to build his strength he wont forget where he came from guarding the weak as someone who grew from that. Seeing the lack of care or acknowledgement to the majority viewed as weak in the military disdain makes him step up as the leader needed to change the structure of this world for the better. In the weak there is strength which Blake knows all too well. His reason to go forward is to become the man he wants to be. The only thing that truly terrifies is the idea of letting it all go, giving up and betraying himself and his potential.

Time

''Somethings off'' Blonde hair beams in the foreboding sun.

"HURRY UP KID STOP MAKING US WAIT"! One of the examiners yells out. Seeing the straggling participant.

"I'll make my own way thanks." Morgan says with annoyance as his thoughts are disrupted.

*Snap*

"Peace and quiet at last, now I can think" He says to himself rubbing at his temples.

''Something isn't right here, ever since I saw Atlas. This feeling won't disappear, he wasn't the same as before. His eyes were just too dotted''. Thoughts begin to circulate at the inconsistencies.

"Let's have a look around then". Morgan says with a mischievous grin

Morgan starts to begin making his way through the still stadium. His eyes peeled trying to confirm his gut feeling. Constantly checking for anything out of the ordinary.

"Nothing yet, well I haven't let anything happen yet" He says giggling.

"Let's see if I'm right".

*Snap* Ripples leaves his fingers as time reacts in resonance slowly resuming motion again.

Immediately as time resumes a loud blood curdling howl enters his ears, the sound of snapping and cracking is echoed through the large stadium as Atlas continues to howl out in agony.

"Was that Atlas"! Morgan's eyes widened hearing the familiar voice yelling out in agony.

"I knew something was wrong with him"! The previous incidents piece together in a furious clarity.

"Awakened a power my ass! He must've sided with those abominations. Now he's become one himself". Morgan's anger boils forward.

"That's what you get from dealing with the devil". Spitting on the ground in the memory of Atlas.

Constant alarms from the Sim room send the audience into a panicked frenzy. sending them in a frantic search for any exit out of the terror.

Continuing his sprint through the back of the stadium. His check up has turned into his worst nightmare. Floods of his previous encounters press through his mind. Stirring up old wounds seeking vengeance.

"You really think you can show your faces here and not expect retaliation" Morgan says with fury as his legs run at full pelt.

"I got news for you, that won't fly here". Morgan's anger forming into a tormenting smile.

"Lets see, your goal was the Sim room. You're not few in number". Morgan says to himself scratching at his chin.

"Of course, child's play with these guys I swear" Rounding a corner in the back of the stadium his educated guess is proven correct. His smile gets bigger and bigger as the bloody image in his mind starts to come into fruition.

Tying back his long blonde hair. He Arms himself, 3 long silver needles find their way between his slim fingers as he makes his way through the chaos forming.

"That idiot actually listened to you" A faint panicked voice escapes the room in front of Morgan.

"Bingo". He says to himself.

"You've gotten the perfect distraction now. Can I please go back to my cell" A nervous girl chitters into a strange black implant embedded into her lip. As it goes silent much to her dismay.

''Please make this go off without a hitch, I don't want to die''. White hair is constantly brushed out of her eyes in a nervous panic.

''I don't want to do this, I don't want to''. The girl continues to slam away at the keyboard, monitoring it thoroughly. Her lip slowly starts to go numb urging her to move faster.

In an instant a silver needle finds its way pressed against her slender neck. Locked on a vein waiting to puncture through it.

"Now, you will tell me what exactly is going on I'll dig it out myself"!

"It can be a painless death" Images of the past flood his mind. Making him more and more merciless.

"Or I can take my time until I get what I want" Morgan says with a blood hungry grin.

Slowly the needle breaks the skin on her pale neck breaking up the whiteness of her skin with a trickle of crimson.

"Please don't kill me" Her voice shrinks as her body begins to seize from fear.

"I don't even want to be here".

"I'm just they're puppet, if I don't listen I'm dead" The girl points at the black implant on her lips" She says in slurs slowly swaying left to right.

"It's your lucky day girl". Morgan says understanding the situation.

*Snap* In the absence of time a silver needle digs precisely through the flesh of the girl's lip. Taking out the embedded chip. It flicked in the air, followed by a needle skewering it. Ripples leave his fingers as time resumes in the same motion.

"OWWWW"! The girl's awareness is drawn to the immediate surge of pain in her lip. Only for astonishment to precede it.

"It's gone, it's actually gone. I'M FREE"! The girl starts to yell out in elation.

"Not yet your not, Tell me what i need to know and will see what happens from there". Morgan says, pointing his needles at her nonchalantly.

"Yes I understand, thank you" She says through a mixture of fear and elation.

"They wanted me to be a distraction, leaving me in the Sim control room locking it. I would be bait, so that when someone eventually comes all they'll find is someone useless". Her fear won over the fleeting elation.

"Who are they"? Morgan says seeking clarity.

"Gene Hunters" Her voice shrivels.

"They said this would be their biggest harvest yet" Her posture starts to shrink along with her voice seeing Morgan's behavior.

"Did they now"? Morgan's curiosity peaked at the idea of this.

"So where do you fall into all this". Morgan says flipping the needles in the air, catching them with precision.

"I….I was just a captive….I had a better outcome then most.....still I was supposed to die here I think". She says holding back flinching.

"Time to end this whole charade of theirs" Morgan says catching the needle.

"You don't have any problems with unlocking it do you" Morgan says in a mocking tone flicking his needles through the air.

"Already done"! She says in a flash not to encounter any unwanted wrath from her savior.

"Perfect".

"For now girl keep up your act just say that comms went down if anyone comes by and questions you". Morgan says forming a believable lie to her to tell.

,"Don't draw any suspicion. If anything happens ring this net number" Morgan says as he flicks a holo-screen to the mainframe of the Sim room control.

"Call me if anything happens, immediately, even if you cant say anything I will arrive" Morgan says affirming the seriousness of his point.

"You better not have died Blake"!
