CHAPTER THREE
Because KC was in poor health, his delivery of the girl to the embassy was delayed; the next day, he told himself that when the girl felt better, they would leave for the embassy. He noticed the girl was drowsy after their conversation, and she had no appetite, unlike the previous days when she was very good at what she was cooking, despite the fact that what he was cooking for the girl was special. Sure enough, she'd look for his dishes, prompting him to wonder, "Will she look for him as well?" He shook his head and smiled, promising himself that he would never let women ruin his life again, because "they only bring problems and headaches". He was so preoccupied with what he was thinking that he didn't notice the girl standing behind him, watching what he was doing. It makes him happy to see that he is not paying attention to anything; he has finished cutting the ingredients but is still cutting; he was surprised when the girl behind him spoke.
"Are you done?" Or do you want to cut those ingredients in firm? The cheerful young lady inquired. Gean didn't show up, and he only sliced the chopped ingredients for cooking.
"I'll chop it firmly so we can taste the aroma," Gean replied, not realizing he was losing focus.
"I see, how many times are you going to chop it?" She teasingly smiled at the young man.
The guy ignored the teasing because he didn't want to be embarrassed, especially since he had been caught doing it. He doesn't want anyone to see him do something or say something that others will find amusing. He wants everything he does to be meaningful and in order; he doesn't want any mistakes, no matter how minor for others; for him, a minor mistake is the work of stupidity, and he doesn't want to be labeled as such. No one has ever dared to call him a fool because he was careful in his actions and decisions; yes, he admits stupidity with the ex-bride, and he ensures that it will never happen again. KC has been talking for a while, but he isn't paying attention because his spirit is on the move.
"Hey! Are you okay? " KC inquired of Gean once more.
"Huh? Why, yes, I am. To avoid the girl's curiosity, he answered the question. He has already begun to cook, the detail in every move has returned, and his stupidity that others may laugh at, especially the girl, will never be repeated. KC is also quiet and watching Gean cook because she wants to learn how to cook, particularly with seafood.
"Would you mind teaching me how to cook seafood?" she begged the young man reluctantly.
Sure, why not? "First and foremost, you need to prepare the menu you want to cook (make sure it is already cleaned and chopped according to your desired slice), the ingredients, the utensils, and most importantly, you know how to light the fire, whether it is a gas stove, fire woods stove, or any other available," Gean explained as KC focused her attention on the young man's handsome face.
"Next, put the pan on the stove and wait until it was hot, then put the oil and if it is already hot, then put the sliced ingredients, after that if you see that it is brown color then put the sea foods you wanted to cook, like this squids, stir, put some black pepper, small amount of salt then, put the cover and rest it for five minutes, after five minutes, stir it again, then put the cover and rest it for another five minutes, then after five more minutes, smell or taste it according to your desired taste or mixture, then remove it to the fire or just off the stove," Gean says in detail. KC was so taken with the Gean's explanation that she wasn't sure if she remembered everything he said; her gaze was drawn to the young man's good looks.
"You got it?" Gean inquired of the young lady.
"Huh? "A little, maybe if I can cook and practice it enough times, I'll be good at it," the girl said, smiling and indicating that she wants to learn to cook and that she still wants to stay here, if possible, for as long as she is with the young man, who shuddered at the thought.
KC enjoys watching the young man; perhaps this is how their lives will be, but she wants to serve and cook for the man; however, if she is pregnant, she will always watch him cook. She was so engrossed in her daydream that when Randolph barked and invited her to eat, she couldn't hear Gean. She sat down in front of him and began spooning rice, they ate quietly, she was embarrassed to have something to talk about or she was afraid to talk about her departure, then she focused her attention on what she was eating and lost her appetite she did not then she realized he was not in front of her. She sadly finished her meal, put it away and cleaned the table, then went upstairs to her bedroom and lay down, depressed. Even if she wants to stay but can't because she needs to know how her parents are doing, her conscience will not allow her to find out if something bad happened to her parents while she was enjoying herself here.
After bathing in the sea and rinsing in the well the next day, KC was ready to discuss her departure, but she was certain that she would return here to this place. She was already dressed when Gean arrived, he was carrying a ripe jackfruit and then a banana, as well as her favorite coconut fruit, she was excited at the greeting that the young man had already brought, she tried to hide her sadness, especially in these scenes that she will undoubtedly miss. Gean went to the sea to take a bath after unloading the luggage, leaving KC speechless. She decided to follow the young man and watch him swim. She noticed Gean wearing goggles but not a fish bow, indicating that he won't be at sea for long. Randolph followed her and also watched while sitting. Gean dived, and KC saw how good he was at swimming and diving into the sea, but it took him a while to get up, so she got up, as did Randolph, who was already barking, how long can he stay under? She questioned herself. She was nervous, so she would have gone down to the sea to find Gean, but she saw him go up there so far, he dived so fast and for such a long time, implying his stamina was so strong, she smiled imaginatively, he is extremely hot.
When the man rose into the sea, his behind was streaked with scratches on his shorts, implying that KC had been swallowed, but she didn't make her reaction obvious in case Gean noticed. Gean went to the well and rinsed her hair, KC and Randolph followed her to the house, and she made hot coffee. She turned to see Gean in front of her, so she remained silent, but as he passed in front of her, her chest almost rumbled; she had no idea why her body reacted in that way every time the guy approached her. Gean has already dressed and has been exposed to C.R. KC was still unable to leave the table; she was simply surprised when Gean walked in front of her. She swallowed and then handed over the coffee to him, the young man took it and drank, KC was still silent as she went up to the room, she began to feel as sad as the thought of leaving and leaving this place, Randolph, and the young man she secretly seems to love.
Gean prepared the food after drinking coffee; he had sliced a native chicken earlier and stewed it so that it would cook a little soft this lunch. He sliced the vegetables and brought raw papaya and chili leaves for Tinola. He started by lightly browning the ginger, then the onion and garlic. He mixed the stewed chicken with a lot of eggs to ensure the "tinola" tasted good, then added pepper and a little salt mixture, and finally added the lemongrass to make the cooking even more delicious. When KC smelled his stewed ingredients, she stood up and watched the young man cook, even though she was a little far away from the kitchen. Gean placed the raw papaya and covered it before she saw what the young man put like a vegetable (lemongrass). He noticed KC standing in the living room and called out to her; the girl came down and approached the kitchen.
"Why are you peering there when you can keep a close eye on me?"
" Gean inquired slowly.
"I just don't want to bother you," the girl explained.
"In what way, Ms., could you disrupt what I'm doing?" Gean inquired solemnly.
"My name is Kristin Claire," the girl replied.
"Hmmmmnnn, we haven't known each other's names for almost three weeks due to misunderstanding," Gean explained. "Gean Francois is my real name; I don't think I should introduce myself to you because you already knew it," he told the girl. "But for formality," he said as he extended his hand to the girl. "Nice meeting you," he said, holding the girl's hand.
"Nice to meet you, my name is Kirstin Claire Aurélie Becker, and my family and friends call me Aurélie or Au," the girl explained. "No one calls me KC like it says on my necklace pendant," he added.
"I am from Luxembourg, my family owns private banking firms, and I am my parents' only daughter," the girl continued to breathe deeply.
"I won't keep it a secret from you because you saved my life," the girl hinted.
"It doesn't matter, I am not interested in digging what, where, or who you are, as long as I give myself in helping human beings who are in need of my service, I don't care what your race or social status is, whether you are rich or poor, it doesn't matter to me," the young man replied. "I am a lawyer, and my job is to help and save those clients who need my help, especially those who can't afford the process of finding the truth," the young lawyer was proud of his role in his countrymen.
"I apologize for what happened in our first misunderstanding," the girl said. "We were on a month-long vacation with my family in Palau when we decided to rent a yacht for island hopping and staying at sea. By chance, on the third day of our voyage, we were intercepted by hijackers, and my father forced me to leave them, putting me on a jet ski, loading a suitcase and my belongings, and then driving me away, messing up my mind at the time, leaving behind my three cousins, my mother, and father." I drove by my car until it ran out of gas in the middle of the sea. "I no longer hope that I will survive the bad weather that comes with my voyage; when I wake up, your face is what I see," the tearful girl said.
Gean approached the girl, he felt sorry for what she had experienced, fortunately he had a long patience and immediately realized what she might have gone through. He caressed her back, KC couldn't control her feelings either, she hugged Gean and she was crying remembering what she went through and now she was even more hurt at the thought that she would leave him without knowing how her heart really felt for the young man. It seems that she is going through it even harder now than when she was in the middle of the ocean, she seems to accept what will be her fate in the middle of the sea than what will be her fate now, she's in love. She hugged the man even tighter, but to Gean's surprise, he simply let her go. He didn't want to fall in love with her again, especially since heaven and earth were the chasm between their lives now that he knew her true status. He appears to be allergic to the wealthy, particularly women; popularity is important to those like her, the center of attention at social gatherings, and does not suit the poor like him.
They were surprised when Randolph barked at them, and what he was cooking spilled out, so he let go of the girl, hoping that he would learn again after a while. He removed the dish's lid, then added the chili leaf and smelled it to see if the mixture was correct. He prepared the dishes, spooned the rice, spooned the dish, laid it on the table, and prayed, with KC joining in. But, while watching the face of this guy with closed eyes, she added something to her prayer and wished that it would happen, aside from the safety of her parents, the other thing she wished and hoped would happen, if not now, hopefully in the future.
