Day 7.5: On going with training

As the group was on their way back. The others had a few things in mind. Dennis recovered from the hit he received from Zack.

It was the middle of the afternoon. Dennis was doing his training with Zack in the lab while Sara monitored them. Making sure that nothing wrong happens or that no one gets injured. While that was happening, Sylvia was making a coat.

She already had a sketch of a fur coat, but nothing to use a model on until she realized she could use one of her friends. She went down to the lab with a few clots, scissors, and sewing needles.

"Dang it… I can't open this up…"

Sylvia said while trying to open the door to the training field, but someone opened the door for and to her surprise, it was none other than Spike.

"Oh hey Sylvia, what brings you down to the lab?"

"Just looking for someone to be my test subject…"

Sylvia then entered and walked up to Dennis, that was training by punching a sand bag that was being held by Zack.

"Come on, Dennis!! You can hit harder than that!!"

Zack shouted. Motivating Dennis to punch even harder and when he did. He made a dent in the punching bag.

"Good job. That was a nice punch right there."

"Thanks, but I think I could have done better."

After that, Sylvia then grabbed Dennis and dragged him next to Sara. It confused him by all this and didn't know what to do.

"Hold still…"

Sylvia then picked up a measuring tape and measured Dennis's sizes. From his body up to his arms, and wrapped Dennis with the clot and started sewing the parts all together on him.

It even made Sara get worried, and she was trying to make her stop.

"Um… Sylvia? Can you explain what you're doing to me?"

Dennis asked. Wondering why she was sewing materials on him.

"Silence. Ever since I gave you these clothes, I was figuring out the last pieces. One of them is this coat that I'm making on you… Now just a touch of magic…"

Sylvia then cast a spell on Dennis. The clot that she used became the very thing she drew. Dennis was now wearing a dark brown fur coat over his casual set of clothes.

"Huh… This is extremely comfy…"

Dennis said while admiring Sylvia's work.

"Now for the shoes… Them letter boots shoes won't last long…"

Before Sylvia could plan the footwear. Nix returned with Dahlia and P with some dire news. They quickly went to the lab after not seeing no one in the living room.

"We need to get Dennis out of here!"

Nix shouted while heading down stairs. When she arrived, she saw Sara worried about her shouting.

"Sorry about that. We need to move Dennis somewhere safe right now. The knights might show up at any given time."

"If they want me… Then why not make a decoy, a falls lead. Sending them into a trap."

As Dennis suggested. The idea was good enough to buy them time.

"Thats a good plan, but we need to play it safe or else we-"

Suddenly, an explosion came from outside. Interrupting Nix's speech. They all went out of the house and saw Dahlia and P already in a fight with a few knights and people in black robes. They injured both of them while a few knights were down on the ground.

"Surrender the kid and we will leave!!"

One knight said. They all then got into a fighting position while Sara was holding Dennis and slowly stepping back.

The girls were about to make a move as they saw a knight about to give a signal of attack until a ray of light struck them down. It left them all in confusion after they saw it was the queen. Walking out of her own attack.

"Is everything all right?"

She asks with concern and looks back at the men she stuck down. Turning into orbs of red, black, and purple.

"Yes… Thank you for saving us…"

They all then kneeled down, except for Dennis. It caught the queen's curiosity and walked towards him.

"And who might you be?"

The queen asks at Dennis. Not knowing how to respond, he quickly kneeled.

"The name's Dennis, your highness… I am not from around these parts, and I-"

"Oh, cut the formalities, will ya? So you must be the kid the harbingers want. Got to say… It is rare to not find someone with no element."

The queen said. Cutting Dennis off from his sentence and leaving him speechless.

"Who is he staying with right now?"

When she asked. Sara lifted her hand, and it made it all clear.

"Then I have a request for you all. By tomorrow, Dennis must go by himself into the dark woods and find the wooden house."

"Wait, what? Are you sure about this?"

Nix asked as soon as she realized the queen wanted Dennis to take a test.

"Yes, I want to know if his capable or not."

The queen said. She then left by turning herself into light and left the others wondering why the queen wanted Dennis to go to the woods by himself. They then got up from kneeling.

"Nix, can you explain?"

Sara asked and was holding Dennis. Worried about what could happen to him.

"It's a proving grounds… She wants Dennis to take a test to see if he is capable or not or else. He will die…"

"Then I'll do it!!"

Dennis shouted. He had no other choice and can't back out if he wanted to. It made him gain determination and went back inside Nix's house to continue training.

"I should go help him."

Zack said and followed Dennis to help him train.

"Not without me, you won't!"

Dahlia soon followed her to help with Dennis.

"Honestly, if someone makes a scratch on my working model, they will pay for it."

Sylvia went inside to work on more clothing designs.

"Great heavens… I need to make sure I have enough medical supplies to take care of his wounds…"

Sara then went to make sure that no one gets hurt.

"Come on Nix! It's been a while since nothing dangerous happens. This is going to be so much fun!!"

P then went inside all energetic. Nix suddenly heard a crash. Thinking that it was P that ended up tripping down the stairs and heard Sara's screams while dealing with her injuries.

"Spike… Can you do me a solid and head over to the other house and make sure it is ready? I can't remember the last time it was used."

"Sure, it will take me a day, so I'll be back tomorrow by sundown."

Spike then prepared his things and went off to the other house to have things ready while Nix went back inside her house to help Dennis with his training. She gave a faint smile and closed the door behind her.

Soon after, she went into the lab. She saw her friends trying to help Dennis train.

"I guess it's time to go back to business…"

Nix then went in and helped Dennis train alongside her friends.
