The red sky influence part 2

As I was on my way to finding my friends. I couldn't ignore the sound of gunshots and explosions coming up ahead. I thought it could be F, but he wouldn't go this over board on a fight.

"This better not be who I think it is..."

I said to myself. I then hurried over to the area. Praying that no one wasn't hurt. Once I made it, I turned to my left and saw an open road with ns blocking the way. The gun shoots and explosions got even louder, and my worst fear came true. I saw Claire and Sally trying to fend for themselves from the ns.

"Claire!! Sally!!!"

"Dennis!?!?"

They both said my name in shock after taking down a ns. I then dashed in while cutting and knocking out a few ns till I reached the center.

"So? What brings you two out here?"

"Claire worried for you and we saw you flying by. We then stumbled upon these bastards on our way..."

Sally said. She then looked away in shame. During that time, I noticed that Sally was wearing combat gear that only special trained soldiers use when they are agile. But my major concern was Claire. She seems to push her self while be up-close to the enemy.

"I see... You two can rest for now. I can take it from here."

"I won't let you!!"

Claire said. She then hugged me in the middle of the situation.

"Just stop doing these things by yourself already and let someone help you out for once!! You have been acting as if you where the only one that can fight ever since we got here!!"

Claire then cried. Placing me on a terrible spot of guilt.

"Okay fine... But I'll not let you or your sister get hurt..."

I said to Claire and she let me go. I then prepared my gun, my knife, and closed my right eye to let my eyesight to focus on the left eye. Claire then leaned on my back and took aim. Sally then got into position and was waiting for my signal.

"Go!"

As I gave out the word. Claire pulled the trigger that released a concentrated energy shot that made an opening. Sally then grabbed Claire and made a run for it while I was right behind them. Making sure that the ns don't pull off any tricks. I then noticed that the exit point was closing, and I reopened a way out.

As I bashed my way out to make a new opening. Sally tossed Claire on to me and I catch her. I then noticed that she dropped some sort of the device, but once my eyesight got adjusted. I saw that it was a bomb. She could get out, but a ns scratched her on the back, making her stumble on the ground.

I placed Claire down to go help Sally. I then sent a powerful air slash that pushed the ns back. It gave me enough time to pick up Sally and make a retreat. Then Claire took aim and was focusing on the explosive device. Once she took the shot. I tossed Sally at her and placed my guard. There was something powerful coming on its way, and I had to act fast. Once the explosion went off, I stood my ground while looking away from the explosion.

"Don't let up!! We got more company!!"

I said out loud. And from the mist, from the explosion. Something was getting closer, and I reacted fast by pulling the trigger from my gun. A simple bullet to give out a warning. But once the explosion was cleared. I could see that fangs were coming out.

"You got to be shitting me."

I said to myself. I quickly changed the position of the knife as if was going to strike while charging in. Making sure that the ns couldn't push any further. As the explosion got clear. Claire saw that I was holding off a beast. But then two more heads came out from the sides.

"A Cerberus!?!?"

We all said. I then pushed the Cerberus back. Trying to buy some distance for Claire.

"Dennis, what are you doing!?!"

"Pushing this mutt back!!"

I then focused all my strength on to my left arm. To hold down the Cerberus. Claire then shot the head to my right. Sally then went past me and took out the head to my left. Leaving the center for me to handle. I grabbed my gun and pointed right at the eye and pulled the trigger a few times. The Cerberus then felled down, and I stood back. But it didn't feel right that the body was still remaining.

"That is not the real Cerberus... That's a copy, meaning that the real Cerberus is still alive."

Sally said. After I heard her. I burned away the remains. I cast a black fire to let the body burn away.

"So what now?"

Claire asked.

"I'm going to go find Nidializ. Dj told me that you all split up and he went after a mimic."

I said out loud. I then noticed that Claire was holding something behind her back. Sally was standing back since she didn't want to interrupt this moment. Claire then approached me and went a kiss on the lips. It felt like all my wounds got healed. She then took off my glasses and putted them on herself and gave me some black sunglasses.

"Dennis, go kick some ass."

Claire said to me with a smile on her face. I then smiled back and hold her close.

"I'll be back before you know it."

I said to Claire and headed off in search of Nidializ. Claire and Sally went back to the tower to see if things are under control. But during my search for Nidializ, I felt that F was up ahead. So I rushed into a park. And I saw F was on a bench.

F then pointed deep in the park and I saw Nidializ looking for something.

"Care to explain?"

"Go ask for yourself."

F said to me, and I headed over to Nidializ to see what was the problem. Once I got close. I saw that she looking at a few corpses of infected people that turned into ns. Nidializ then noticed me and she had her eyes glowing crimson red. It gave me a slight sense of danger that made me place my guard up.

"Dennis, come look at this."

Nidializ said. I then went over to her and saw that the infected mad a circle. And this was a trap that I could only set. I grabbed Nidializ and tossed her out of the circle before the trap could be activated.

"Dennis!!"

Nidializ called out my name when I was about to get out. The ground illuminated once I got out of the trap.

"What was that?!"

"That's a barrier. We got lucky to get out in time. So you care to explain what happened?"

I asked Nidializ. She then explained everything. When she saw me from a distance and before she could react. She got ambushed, but F showed in time to save her.

"OK, then... I should put a stop to this... I want to take a day off or a week from fighting or training."

I said. We then saw a mimic nearby and was making a run for it. Me and Nidializ chased it, but Nidializ stopped and left me alone to go after the mimic.

"Good luck... Dennis..."

Nidializ said in a low voice. As I kept going. I ended up back where my fight started. The construction site. But things seemed different. Everything was gone. Nothing was standing on my way and only an extensive set of stairs that headed to the top of the buildings. I took a deep breath and went up the stair to find out what awaits me in the end.
