Prologue

Third person POV

 June 9, 2077, Quiapo Area, Manila, the Philippines, had a busy morning. The Quiapo Church is holding a morning mass while vendors outside of it are selling stuff and food to passersby. Police and traffic enforcers are managing the traffic on the streets. Surely it was an ordinary and loud day at this hour. But, suddenly, a mysterious portal appeared at an intersection, and then, a barrage of knights, cavaliers, and mages came out in droves and started to attack the people in the area. Chaos ensued seconds after that, and bloodshed followed soon after that. Many took cover in the church, but it was invaded, too. Vendors and vehicles were destroyed and toppled, and a provincial bus was toppled as well. The police in the area had responded, but it wasn't enough. 

 And so, the Filipino SWAT and the Filipino military were called in to repel the mysterious invaders. The fight was brutal, with tanks and fighter jets getting into the action. Worst yet, a minotaur, some drakes, and a huge dragon joined in the fight. While the drakes were killed instantly, the minotaur had its head blown off by a shell from a tank. The dragon, on the other hand, withstands the attacks at first, but then, a fighter jet fires a missile at its body. Another fighter jet timed its firing at the dragon's mouth, and the pilot did it right. This results in the dragon getting killed by them. And so, the battle ended with the humans winning and the enemies retreating back to the portal. But, it comes with a cost. Many people, mostly civilians, died in the attack. At the end of the day, over 1,000 or so people had died and hundreds more were injured. 

 Because of this, New Clark City was informed by it, and Daniel Cruz, in his second term as president of the Philippines, was shocked at the reports. He then declared a month of mourning for the victims. The mass funeral was attended by tens of thousands from across the country, with some holding pictures of their deceased loved ones. Now wanting peace for the deceased, he launched an investigation regarding what had happened. But, where are Akira, Hachi, and Toshi at this point?
