24. Food from Modern Times

After thinking about it, he worried that Sister Martha, who hadn't eaten all day, might still be hungry. So, he put four ham sausages into the other three bowls.

With a big bag of bread on the table, it should be enough.

Jason Liu only needed one cup of instant noodles for himself.

When the water boiled, Jason Liu asked Lena to pour the hot water into his cup of noodles. He told her to cover it and wait a few minutes before eating.

The aroma of the instant noodles spread through the room, making Sister Martha and Lena sniff the air.

"It smells so good!"

Jason Liu had already eaten instant noodles many times before, so he didn't find it as special.

"Mother, Aunt Lena…"

Five-year-old Michal woke up because of the delicious smell. When he saw Jason Liu, he hesitated and looked shyly at Martha and Lena.

Martha picked up her son, "Michal, come here! This is Lord Jason Easter. He healed your sister Lilian today. Now, he has kindly invited us to share a meal. Say thank you to Lord Easter!"

"Thank you, Lord Easter…" the little boy whispered, hiding in his mother's arms, looking nervous.

Jason Liu smiled kindly at him. "Your name is Michal, right? Come here, little one, and try this... um, food from my hometown!"

For Lena's family, who usually only had hard black bread to eat, the salty instant noodles were a rare treat.

Michal, who knew this man had saved his sister, gathered his courage, left his mother's arms, and stood in front of Jason Liu. His small face looked frightened like a little animal.

"Thank you, Lord Easter, for saving my sister Lilian…" he said quietly, fidgeting with his hands and quickly lowering his head after speaking.

Jason Liu gently patted his head and smiled, "Thank you, little one. Now go ahead and try the delicious noodles!"

As Jason Liu insisted, Lena's family nervously sat at the table with him and started eating the instant noodles.

Michal ate so quickly that he burned his tongue, but he kept going.

Lena's eyes widened in delight, "This is the best food I've ever had in my life!"

Martha was also eating quickly, ignoring how hot the noodles were, as she hadn't eaten all day.

Seeing how much they enjoyed the instant noodles, Martha nodded in agreement, thanking Jason Liu repeatedly. She felt grateful that they were lucky enough to meet such a kind-hearted noble.

Watching them enjoy their meal, Jason Liu felt that the noodles tasted pretty good after all.

When they tried the ham sausage, they were amazed again since they hadn't had meat in such a long time. Thanks to Lord Easter's kindness, they were able to have a hearty meal.

Jason Liu had only eaten half of his noodles when Lena, Martha, and Michal had already finished everything, even drinking the soup.

Seeing they were still hungry, Jason Liu pushed the bread toward them, "Have some more bread…"

They looked at him with gratitude but shook their heads. Sister Martha swallowed hard but said, "We're already full. Let's save the bread for tomorrow…"

Lena also insisted that they couldn't eat anymore.

Jason Liu didn't push them further, thinking it might be better not to eat too much at night.

After dinner, Jason Liu felt closer to Lena's family.

He checked on the baby one last time and found that the medicine was working well. Once he saw she was breathing easily and sleeping peacefully, he told Martha and Lena to call him if they needed anything during the night. Then, he said goodbye and left.

Back in his room on the second floor of his wooden house, Jason Liu looked at the empty bed and smiled.

He then teleported back to his villa and brought back the new blankets to his room in Westeros.

Since he was worried about baby's condition, he decided to spend the night in Westeros. This would be his first time staying overnight in another world.

He took out his money box from under the bed. There were 907 silver stags left. After selling 26 golden dragons for over 290,000 yuan, that was all he had left.

Jason Liu was planning to exchange the silver stags for golden dragons because gold was more valuable and easier to carry.

As for other valuable things he could bring back to the modern world from Westeros, he couldn't think of much besides gold.

Wood?

There was a lot of wood in Westeros, especially in the vast Wolf Forest outside Winterfell, but it belonged to the Stark family. Taking it without permission would land him in the dungeons of Winterfell.

Even if he could buy wood from the Stark family, he didn't have enough people to manage it yet, and selling wood back home would be a hassle.

Perhaps he could start the timber business when he had more workers, but not right now.

For now, he needed to quickly gather valuable items that were small in size but high in value to fund his 'Westeros Dumping Plan.'

Modern goods like cheap clothes, daily products, and plastics couldn't be managed alone, so he needed to turn his money into gold here.

When it comes to gold, there's no place richer than the Westerlands.

There's a famous joke about how Duke Tywin Lannister, who rules Casterly Rock in the Westerlands, has so much gold that even his toilet is made of it, and he supposedly "poops" gold.

Although it's a crude joke, it shows just how wealthy the Westerlands are.

Tywin even had enough gold to lend millions of golden dragons to King Robert, nearly a third of what the Iron Bank of Braavos lent him.

It would be amazing to trade gold with the Westerlands…

Thinking of this, Jason Liu remembered the Westerlands merchant Odover. He wondered how his gel pens and A4 paper will be selling there.
