New Alliances and Family Decisions
As Maegor sipped wine in his room, he reflected on the past year. He had initiated military expansion, growing his army to include 30,000 infantry, 10,000 archers, and 20,000 cavalry, in addition to the 20,000 slaves brought from Valyria. This expansion had caused concern among the other 39 dragonlord families in Valyria, but with some assurances, they had not caused any trouble. With only 30 years remaining until Valyria's destruction, Maegor knew he needed to act quickly.
As he was lost in thought, the door was knocked, and Lori, a Valyrian servant, entered.
**Lori:** "Lord Maegor, your father, Lord Aemon, is calling for you to the meeting room."
**Maegor:** "Understood, Lori. You may go."
After dismissing the servant, Maegor changed his clothes and headed towards his father's study. As he approached the meeting room, the two armored guards bowed and opened the doors for him. With a nod, Maegor entered, and the doors closed behind him. His father, Aemon, was seated behind a desk, poring over documents.
**Aemon:** "Maegor, come here and sit across from me. There are two things I need to discuss with you."
**Maegor:** "Of course, Father," he said as he took his seat. "Why did you call for me?"
**Aemon:** "Son, you are now 17 and married. It's time for you to have a child. Many are talking about the possibility of infertility, concerning both you and my dear daughter and your wife, Leana."
**Maegor:** "Hmm, well, Father, I will consider the matter of having a child. What's the other issue? I assume you didn't call me here just for this child issue?"
**Aemon:** "No, that is only our and your mother's concern. The real issue is our alcohol sales in Westeros are very profitable. The barbarians' demand for our drinks is beyond imagination, especially Vodka, which has become very popular in the North. Even the poorest and most barbaric lords are nearly emptying their coffers, hahaha."
**Maegor:** "Hmm, so we've achieved the desired result. That's good news. But is there more?"
**Aemon:** "Yes, there's more. Our ships are insufficient. Therefore, I've decided to procure 100 enchanted ships from Valyria, using special spells. The cost will be 20 million gold. What do you think about this?"
**Maegor:** "Our current ships could only suffice to a certain extent. As we open new routes, the demand for our drinks will rise. Although the cost is high, we can recoup this amount in about four months. So, let's proceed with the purchase."
**Aemon:** "Very well. Now, onto the second matter regarding you."
**Maegor:** "Hmm, about me?"
**Aemon:** "Yes. As you know, we Valyrian dragonlords are never monogamous. We either have concubines or additional wives. I would like you to consider taking another wife."
**Maegor:** "No, Father, Leana will be upset!"
**Aemon:** "I spoke with her before you came, and she has no opinion on this matter. I will choose another Valyrian girl for you. Do you have any families or girls in mind?"
**Maegor:** "No, I don't. Wait, did Leana just agree?"
**Aemon:** "Yes, she agreed."
Maegor looked at his father in shock and thought deeply. Then, as an idea came to him, his eyes lit up and he immediately shared his thoughts.
**Maegor:** "Father, I have an idea. We could marry a girl from the Targaryen house. It would benefit us for the future, especially since we will be among the last two dragonlord families surviving after the disaster."
**Aemon:** "Hmm, what you said makes sense. Alright, I will send a messenger to summon this small family ranked 38th to my presence."
**Maegor:** "Understood, Father." He left the room and walked to the back garden where Leana was. Passing by exotic flowers that his mother and Leana had planted, he found Leana enjoying herbal tea in a gazebo.
**Maegor:** "Hey, isn't this my dear wife?" he said as he approached from behind, embracing her and kissing her cheek. They stayed like that for a minute, sharing their affection.
**Leana:** "Maegor, you sneak up on me so quietly sometimes, you scare me," she said, her cheeks reddening.
**Maegor:** "Of course, my dear wife, you are very sweet when you're upset," he laughed.
**Leana:** "Alright, I won't argue with you. What's the issue? You rarely come to the garden."
**Maegor:** "I had a meeting with my father, and he told me some things. Did you really agree to this?"
**Leana:** "Yes, I did. Maegor, I can't stand it at night. I thought it would be better if I had a good sister coming to me."
**Maegor:** "Touching her nose and smiling, 'Well, as you wish. But know this, your place will always be special to me.'"
Leana turned around, hugged him, and they shared tender kisses. They then sat at the table, talking and laughing. While Leana enjoyed her herbal tea, Maegor relaxed with whiskey, gazing at the garden.
After a while, they both stood up and walked hand in hand towards the palace. Maegor left Leana with his mother, Viserra, and retired to his room. He recorded the forthcoming events in a secret diary, using the alphabet from his previous world, ensuring no one could read or understand it. As night fell and the moon hung in the sky, Maegor extinguished the candle and went to bed, holding Leana and closing his eyes in a comfortable sleeping position. The only thought on his mind before he fell asleep was, "Everything will be revealed in time."
Dear fan fiction enthusiasts,
First of all, I hope you're having a great day!
I haven’t uploaded a new chapter in the past two days because I’ve been working hard and am quite exhausted. The chapter I’m uploading today is a bit short since I wrote it during breaks from work. I apologize if it’s not up to the usual length. I hope you enjoy it. Take care!
