An Unpleasant Opponent
The statistics for an elimination tournament are simple. Eight rounds are enough to reduce the number of opponents from one thousand two hundred participants to four finalists. And that's assuming a succession of fights in which one fighter fights against one opponent. In the first hour of competition, Lee surpassed the norm and eliminated six opponents.
He sat against the wall and no one bothered him. He wasn't worried about looking like a coward or an overly cautious fighter. He didn't care how the other nine possible opponents behaved. Even the exact number of enemy survivors didn't bother him. The cave was still too big for competitors to pay attention to the presence of a dangerous neighbor.
