Kneeling and Begging for Mercy

Yvonne Louise standing beside them, clapped her hands in excitement, her wide eyes filled with excitement. With this slap, Cynthia Shannon's face would surely swell up like a pig's head. Her hand sliced through the air, carrying a sharp palm wind, but at the moment it was about to touch Cynthia's cheek, it was caught by her.

Mrs. Louise widened her eyes, looking at Cynthia in disbelief. She struggled instinctively but found herself unable to break free from Cynthia's grip. Panic flashed in her eyes as she exclaimed, "Cynthia Shannon, what are you trying to do?"

Cynthia tightly grasped Mrs. Louise's wrist, a mocking smile appearing on her face. She leaned down slightly, bringing her face close to Mrs. Louise's ear and said with sarcasm, "I was taught to respect the elderly and care for the young since I was young. But if you, Mrs. Louise, insist on acting old, I wouldn't mind letting you experience the view from the fifteenth floor as well."

"You!" Mrs. Louise glared at Cynthia, her face red with anger. She gritted her teeth and said, "Cynthia Shannon, Joe will never forgive you!"

Cynthia chuckled lightly, abruptly releasing Mrs. Louise's hand. "Whether he forgives me or not is none of my business!"

Mrs. Louise stumbled on her high heels, almost falling to the ground. Luckily, Yvonne quickly reached out and supported her.

"Let's go!" Mrs. Louise coldly snorted, her teeth clenched. Without looking back, she turned and left.

As they walked out of the hospital room, Yvonne couldn't help but complain, "Mom, this Cynthia is becoming more and more rude. We need to teach her a lesson!"

"Shut up!" Mrs. Louise gave Yvonne a stern look. She slightly shook her throbbing wrist and said, "Don't mess with her in the future!"

Yvonne reluctantly muttered, "I got it."

She lowered her eyelids, hiding the malicious gleam in her eyes. She would remember this slap today, and one day she would make Cynthia kneel and beg for mercy!

After the mother and daughter left, Cynthia finally had a moment of peace. But soon after, the door was pushed open again.

"Are you done yet..." Cynthia frowned with a hint of annoyance, looking towards the door.

To her surprise, the one to enter wasn't Mrs. Louise , but a stranger in a black suit.

She calmed her irritability, maintaining politeness but also a distant attitude, and asked, "Who are you?"

"Miss. Shannon, I'm Mr. Ford's special assistant, Max Ginger," Max politely nodded at Cynthia. "This is some fruit my boss specifically prepared for you."

As clever as Cynthia, she immediately understood that the Mr. Ford mentioned by Max Ginger referred to Tristan Ford.

"I appreciate your employer's kindness, but I don't accept gifts for no reason. Please take these things back," Cynthia didn't like accepting favors from strangers, especially knowing the intentions Tristan had for her. If she accepted them, it would be equivalent to accepting his actions.

Max Ginger maintained a polite smile on his face, making it difficult to fathom his emotions. He said, "It seems that the things I prepared don't meet Miss. Shannon's taste. Please wait a moment, I will prepare again until Miss. Shannon is satisfied."

His words implied that if you don't accept this fruit basket, I will keep sending them until you're satisfied and willing to accept.

Cynthia Shannon hesitated for a moment and then said, "Just leave the things here."

"Please enjoy, Miss. Shannon." Max Ginger placed the food box on the table, his scrutinizing gaze quickly sweeping over Cynthia.

Cynthia Shannon glanced at the fruits inside. They were freshly cut and delicately arranged, not something easily found in a regular supermarket.

"Please thank your boss for me," Cynthia suddenly thought of something and quickly spoke up, "It's going to rain outside, so take this umbrella."

Max Ginger was momentarily taken aback, then he smiled and said, "Thank you, Miss. Shannon."

At this moment, his gaze towards Cynthia was no longer scrutinizing but filled with appreciation.
