Security Forces Reach for Kasra (1/3)

Walking languidly along the concrete slabs sidewalk, Kasra pushed his hands deep into his pockets, and hunched over.

In thought, he mulled over the girl from lunch.

"Tch… why'd she ask me those weird questions…"

After a second, he said:

"I forgot to ask her what her name was… tch!"

After a long period of silence, Kasra felt like something was off.

His nape grew progressively colder, which was a nagging feeling ever since he left the school's main building.

The sensation of it was worse than what he felt when he lashed out this morning.

Kasra recognized this feeling as the eyes of others casting their gaze on him.

Pretending to not notice, he continued his walk to the boy's dorm, ready to settle in for the night.

But the faint sounds of footsteps that occasionally occurred made him realize that their was one final obstacle.

Stopping, Kasra pulled his hands out of his pockets to play with his hair.

Turning around, he abruptly asked:

"Did you guys need something?"

Instead of a face of weariness to the girls, it was tiredness.

"I really don't have much energy to deal with you girls right now."

Emerging from the corners of his vision, like they faded into existence, the girls all wore the school's uniform, albeit with slight additions.

Looking at both of them, he noticed that they had bright yellow armbands pinned to their sleeves, that read:

[WEST GENETICS SECURITY FORCES]

Done playing with his hair, he asked:

"Why are you guys after me, though..? The Student Council President already had a talk with me about what happened this morning."

Looking at them both with anticipation, Kasra was curious about what their answer was.

The one who had her blonde hair pulled into a tight ponytail, spoke for the both of them.

"President Visurix herself had asked our section to come for you, actually. She thinks there's a position you'd be perfect for."

Crossing his arms at the answer she gave him and looking at the ground, his skepticism surfaced in his tone.

"Why would she even bother helping me though? All I did was cause trouble?"

She avoided his question, as she didn't know why either.

"Its simply a matter of yes or-"

"Yes."

Without looking up, Kasra had actually jumped at the possibility to join them.

Even without an explanation from them, he already had somewhat of an inkling as to why the President vouched for him, as an addition to the Security Forces.

"If I cant fight alongside a Pandora, then I can at least stop them from going haywire, and further hurting other people."

Chuckling, he continued:

"This is definitely the better of two options… it's my only option."

Looking at the blonde again, he had another question.

"So, do I have to wear one of those armbands, as w-"

Without missing even a tenth of a second, she confirmed his question.

"Yes."
