Be Close to Those You Love.

Elena turned on the phone and called her father. But she heard only monotonous beeps in response. She made two more calls, but there was still no answer.

"Come on, the driver must be waiting for us at the entrance. You will make a call on the way one more time," David said, took her hand and they headed for the exit from the airport.

Elena got into the car and made another call. Beep. Beep-

"Hello?"

"...."

"Hello, dad? Can you hear me?"

"... Elena," Chen replied in a hoarse voice.

His intonation made Elena feel very worried. "Dad, is everything all right? What's up with the voice? I'm going home, I'll be there in half an hour."

"Yes, everything is fine. Just-" Mr. Lee clenched his teeth in pain. Blood was flowing down his arm from the bullet that had hooked him. If he had not dodged on time, his condition would have been much worse.

"Dad, has anyone come to you by chance? A boy of twenty?" Elena asked her father.

Chan glanced at the young man, sobbing on the threshold of his house, "Yes, he is sitting here alone. I am thinking about handing him over to the police."

"Dad, wait. Ask him if his name is Yun."

Mr. Lee leaned against the wall, and with his second hand he aimed the gun at the young man, "Hey, is your name Yun?"

The guy affirmatively nodded his head but did not dare to look the owner of the house in the eye.

"My daughter apparently knows you. She said that you have to stay where you are and wait for her arrival."

Yun did not say anything but did not move either.

Chen sighed heavily, "Young man, if you are not ready to take someone's life, you better not even try. One can see from the first glance that you are not much of a killer. Although you still decided to pull the trigger," the man sat on the concrete floor opposite Yun and began to look at him intently.

"How old are you?"

"Twenty," the young man replied quietly.

"Hmm, if my son had been alive, he would have also been twenty years old now. I think your parents would be upset to know what you are doing. At least I would be very sad if I were in their shoes." Mr. Lee looked at every single trait of a guy.

For some reason, he did not cause negative feelings in President Lee. Even the fact that he came here to kill him was perceived by Chen as a bad deed of a child, for which he should be reprimanded.

It was very strange. He could immediately call the police to arrest him, but he didn't. When he saw him crying on the threshold of his house, the man's heart sank for an incomprehensible reason. He thought that most likely this was due to the fact that he was previously thinking about his own son, and this guy by his looks resembled his dead Jun.

The young man did not respond to his comment, and just silently looked at the floor. So they were sitting in silence until the car drove up to the house.

Elena entered the code on the gate and ran into the courtyard. She did not expect to see such a picture in front of her eyes. Yun was sitting on the ground with his eyes red with tears, and Mr. Lee was sitting next to him with a bloody hand holding a gun.

The girl froze in place, "What is happening here?!" She ran to her father and began to examine his injury. It was not deep but required immediate treatment.

"Welcome home, honey," Mr. Lee replied. On his forehead were drops of sweat from aching pain in his hand. "You know, your company is very unexpected for me. What does this mean?" He looked at the Anderson brothers behind.

"Good evening, Uncle Lee," Daniel smiled with his charming smile.

"It was good until someone showed up," Chen answered with irritation and cast a vicious glance at David.

"Dad, I'll explain everything later. First, you need to treat the wound. Let's go to the house," Elena helped her father get up and led him inside.

"Oh, and baby Jun grew older. It's really hard to know you," Daniel looked at Yun, but he didn't react to his comment. "Don't you remember your older brother, huh? You used to chase me all the time. Well, let's go inside, we are about to have a very serious conversation." Daniel grabbed the guy by the hand and dragged him along.

"Let me go, I'm not going anywhere with you!" Yun began to break free, but it was useless.

"Shh, how bad is it to shoot your own father and then run away? As a child you were much more educated," Daniel grinned and dragged him into the house.

Elena sat her father on the couch and began to treat his wound. Five minutes later, she finished the procedure, rewound his arm with a bandage and gave her father an anesthetic and anti-inflammatory medicine.

"Can anyone explain to me what is going on here?" Mr. Lee asked, glancing at the people in his office. "Elena, it's enough for me that some inexperienced kid decided to shoot me for something I have nothing to do with. So tell me, please, what are these two doing here?! Mr. Anderson," he turned to David, "Do you still have guts to show up in front of my daughter after all the humiliation that you brought her?!"

"Papa," Elena wanted to argue, but David signaled to her that he himself would figure it out.

"Good evening, Mr. Lee. First, I want to apologize for all the troubles that we have brought you recently. I will explain all the details later. But at the moment, I want you to read these documents. I'm sure this information will allow us to regain your trust," David said with utmost politeness, bowed, and handed a black folder to Chen.

Mr. Lee reluctantly took it in his hands and began to read. At that moment he felt as if time had stopped. In his eyes darkened and the body of a man shaken. David jumped in to hold him, but Chen waved his hand to let him know that he was all right.

"This is... what is written here, is it true? Because if you decide to play a trick in this way, then I will kill you with my own hands, despite the consequences," Mr. Lee asked in a chilling voice.

"We can repeat the test to verify this finally. Results will be ready in two days. But given this information, I think it will be confirmed," David answered calmly.

"You know, for me, there is nothing to confirm here. I see so well that you have the same aura with this guy. Your family relationship is obvious," Daniel expressed his opinion.

Mr. Lee looked at Yun, and he looked at him in response. The young man was in complete shock, he gradually came to realize that he almost killed his own father. But how was that even possible? He absolutely did not remember this man or anything related to him. He remembered only his mother, who died in his arms.

Chen covered his face with his hands and lowered his head. The man did not utter a sound, but it was obvious that his hands were shaking. He wanted to believe with all his heart that this was true, but he was afraid to do so. The hope was so fragile that if it turns out that all this is a lie and this boy sitting in front is not his family... This will be too strong for him.

"Daniel, can you help with anything now?" David asked his older brother.

"Okie, let's try. Come on Junie, sit straight, Uncle Daniel will check your eyes," the elder Anderson approached Yun, lifted his head and looked into his eyes.

"Hmmm, that's interesting. Boy, haven't you been hypnotized recently, eh? Did you meet anyone unusual or feel anything strange?"

"Hmmm, I don't remember that," Yun answered and thought, "It's true that one person came to my curator yesterday. I had never seen him before, but it seemed to me that Alan treats him with even more respect than he treats Master Rick. His eyes were strange. It looked like he could swallow you with just one glance."

"Master Rick? Are you talking about Rick Stein now?" Mr. Lee was surprised.

Yun nodded affirmatively, "Yes, it was he who gave the order to kill you, sir. For many years I have been told one thing, but now it turns out that this was a lie. I don't know what I should believe," the young man replied sadly. The feeling that he had been used meanly all this time to achieve somebody's goals, caused a feeling of disgust in him.

"You want to say that Rick is involved in this? Even if this is the case, an accident with my family happened more than fifteen years ago. How old was he then, about twelve years old? A child at his age could not have committed such a crime!" This whole situation did not fit President Lee's mind. Too much was incomprehensible and illogical.

"Sir, if you allow me, I will tell you everything in detail tomorrow, since this conversation is not for ten minutes," David suggested, to which Chen nodded his head and sighed ruinously. In any case, he had no choice.

"Boy, can you recall in detail the person you saw yesterday?" Daniel asked Yun. Anderson covered his eyes with his hand and focused on the memories of the young man.

Daniel clearly saw the room where Yun was. Saw the other person; apparently, it was Alan and saw the back of another man. But as soon as that man turned around and Daniel tuned himself to see his face, everything darkened in the eyes of the elder Anderson.

Daniel pulled his hand back, "What the... So, let's do it again," he commanded, and they repeated the whole procedure again. But the second time and the third time, nothing has changed. Daniel still saw only darkness.

He sighed with annoyance. He has faced such a thing for the first time in his life.

"So, let's do it for the last time," he covered Yun's eyes with his hand and concentrated as much as he could. The unknown man turned around, and Daniel slowly began to look up from his legs toward his head. He clearly saw his silhouette and was ready to examine his face, when suddenly,

"Hmm," a vicious grin leaked from an unknown man's lips and a sharp pain hit Daniel hard on the head.

"Aghh, shit, you bastard," the elder Anderson grabbed his head, and it took him a few seconds to regain his vision.

"What is it?" David jumped to his brother; he never saw a similar reaction from him during the sessions.

"Damn, in my opinion, I am already useless today," Daniel said with irony. "Let's continue tomorrow."

'You will tell me everything in detail later'" David told him mentally. Daniel looked at his younger brother with irritation. Was it that necessary to climb into my head right now, eh?

David, having read his brother's thoughts, grinned and turned toward Chen, "Mr. Lee, let's sleep on it. I have a lot to tell you, and Daniel is useless right now. Let's continue our conversation tomorrow. I have some more documents which I would like to show you."

"Okay, so be it. And you better try to explain everything to me properly, young man, otherwise I will take you down the stairs," Chen replied.

Yun got up from the couch, also intending to leave, but was immediately stopped by the president's gaze, "Where are you going? Nobody lets you go. Elena, accompany Mr. Anderson and his brother to the door. And you," he pointed to Yun with his finger, which made the latter almost choke, "You follow me. You will spend the night in the guest room. And if you try to sneak away, I'll hunt you down."

"If only I could, I have no place to go to, sir," Yun replied.

He did not want to return to the base to Alan, and he had no other places or friends. The guy sadly lowered his head at that moment,

Brrrr...

His stomach growled treacherously, demanding food. Yun looked at Mr. Lee with shame, the last one breathed a sigh and led him into the kitchen, "Okay, let's go. Eat first."

Elena walked the Anderson brothers to the door.

"Good night, rest well," David wished her and leaned over to kiss her before leaving. He froze a few inches from the girl's lips, and turned his head, "Can you make yourself gone already, eh?"

Daniel was looking at them with a Cheshire smile, "Ahaha, okay, okay, I won't embarrass you two," he turned away and walked toward the gate.

Elena giggled and kissed David, "Good night! I love you."

"Mmm, and I love you too," David replied, and reluctantly let her go. He kissed her on her cheek once more and followed his brother.

The girl went up to her room, took a shower and got ready for bed. She spent an hour in bed, unable to close her eyes. Her thoughts are elsewhere.

She went down to the kitchen and poured a glass of water.

"Can't sleep?" her father asked her. Chen poured himself a glass of whiskey and looked out the window.

"Yes, somehow I cannot sleep. How is he?"

"I did not check, but it seems to me that he is sleeping like a dead man," Mr. Lee replied and smiled.

"Got it," Elena smiled in response.

"You know, dear, life is very short, and you need to use every opportunity to be close to those you love," Chen looked thoughtfully at his daughter and winked.

Elena replied to her father with a glance, showing that she didn't quite understand him. Was he hinting at something?

"Khem, what I mean is that you are free to go there and be with the one you want to be with at the moment. Just think about the consequences with your head, okay?"

The girl raised her eyebrows, trying to understand what he meant. And when it reached her, Elena's cheeks flared. The father noticed the girl's embarrassment and patted her on the shoulder, "I hope you will not be too late for breakfast?" Chen grinned and squinted his eyes playfully.

Elena laughed and hugged him, "Dad - you're the best! I love you!"

"I love you too, honey," he patted her head with tenderness and watched her run to her room quickly.

"Ehh, how fast children grow up," Mr. Lee sighed and finished his whiskey.

Elena changed her clothes, grabbed the keys of the car and went down into the garage. She started the engine and pressed the pedal. She didn't need to turn on the navigator to get directions. She remembered the way to that place from the first time. After all, this was the house of the person who she wanted to spend her entire life with.
