I'm ready
"The boss is on her way".
Lawyer Patrick called one of the managers at Nadia's company.
He remembered the conversation he had with the chairman a while ago.
***A few weeks back***
"This is unlike you chairman. Why would you go this far for a girl who is not even his wife yet".
Chairman O'Brien was sitting on the head couch in his study as he listened to what one of his most trusted men said. He sighed and looked at him.
"You are right lawyer Patrick, and to think I'm doing this with no serious motive... it is surprising to me too".
"So why..."?
Lawyer Patrick asked confused. He could not understand why his boss, an old, experienced, and wise man would make such a big decision.
He already knew that Nadia was not from a reputable family not to add to it, her family does not meet the O'Brien's standard at all.
"She is going to be a great asset to us".
Lawyer Patrick looked at the chairman not understanding anything he was saying.
"I don't think I understand Sir. If anything, you should be planning to discard her and bring in the prime minister's daughter".
The chairman smiled lightly and replied.
"I know right"?
He stood up and went to the mini-bar in his study and took a strong liquor with two liquor glasses.
"Here, drink this".
He gave a glass to the lawyer but the lawyer did not drink it immediately. Instead, he just kept looking at the chairman and trying to convince him that he was making a mistake.
"Oh come on lawyer Patrick, stop being so serious and drink up. That really good liquor right there".
The chairman said pointing to the glass. He noticed that the man in front of him was bent on making him change his mind.
"She reminds me so much of someone, someone... really great".
He said with a smile on his face and the lawyer seeing this, calmed down a little.
"I see greatness in her Patrick and I am ninety-nine percent sure she will not disappoint".
It seems like lawyer Patrick was finally succumbing.
"That one percent you left out is a really big one Sir. With all you are giving her at once, she could become extremely greedy".
Chairman O'Brien laughed a little before speaking again.
"Oh please Patrick, I'm not giving her that much, you know what I'm giving her can hardly affect me even if she becomes greedy. Besides, I'm the biggest shareholder. I'll be making some money too don't you think"?
Lawyer Patrick sighed knowing he could definitely not convince the chairman and the chairman simply smiled before taking a sip of his drink.
"Ugh!! This is strong".
The chairman said while squeezing his face in a way that made lawyer Patrick laugh.
"I'll trust your judgment as always and support her with all I have".
Lawyer Patrick said when they had calmed down and the chairman nodded showing that he liked his response.
"Make sure you let her know that she is a boss now. I know she has it in her but she needs to learn how to show it".
***Back to the present***
"I'm ready".
I said as I got down the stairs.
I was wearing a two-piece tailored ladies suit. It was maroon in color and it sat perfectly well on my body. The pants were not tight at all but they were not so big either. They looked like a palazzo but a bit smaller. The suit itself had just three buttons right in the middle so I had to wear a singlet inside. It was a body hug kind of suit but it was perfect.
I accompanied my outfit with a black channel bag and black heels. My accessories were limited as I felt it would look too much so I only wore an earring.
"You look amazing boss".
He said and bowed lightly.
"Oh please stop that".
I said looking rather startled by his sudden behavior.
Patrick knew that she was pretty but now, he felt like he could see what the chairman saw.
'Old people definitely see a hundred miles further'.
He said to himself.
"Let's go".
I said and we were on our way. When I got outside, I saw three cars waiting for me.
I know I wanted this but I was suddenly feeling scared. This was a lot. It made me feel like I'd fall harder if I were to ever fall.
I know I found favor in the sight of the chairman but this felt much more than just favor.
The car in the middle was opened by a man who looked like a guard and I walked into the passenger seat while lawyer Patrick sat in front and with that, we were on our way.
"I'll have people move your things to your place".
As soon as I heard him, I immediately took my eyes off the tablet I was looking at.
"What do you mean by that"?
He didn't even think before responding.
"It would only bring rumors if people found out you were living with your fiance when you are not married".
I could understand but it was too soon I did not even talk to Jason yet. I couldn't say anything else though so I just went back to looking at the tablet.
It had the list of people I was to interview and they were so many. It also had information on all the shareholders and board members.
It had information on all the departments in the company and I could tell that I had so much to do. Knowing this, I felt flowers blooming from inside my stomach. I was just so happy.
We soon got to the company and even though I had seen it on the phone, I could not believe this was mine.
It had ND's HERMOSA CASA written on it. It wasn't too big but it would definitely make one stare.
The driver had gone out to open my door when I heard lawyer Patrick speak.
"Remember, do not let them know what you are thinking".
He said and I nodded.
As soon as Nadia got out of the car, there was a hidden paparazzi that began to secretly take her pictures.
There were guards in front and behind her as she walked into the company like a queen. She looked like she had been doing this since she was born.
Patrick looked at her as he was by her side but a little bit behind.
'I think you were right chairman. She is a boss'.
