Chapter 6: Baby on board - Welcome to the world ...

Soon in the Hudson-Berry house there would be a new arrival who would make their days even more beautiful. That wait that seems too long, only made parents, grandparents and uncles pawing: all impatient to see this little bundle come into the world.

They had their routine now, it was something simple but it filled their hearts with love and so much happiness.

As soon as Finn came home he ran to kiss Rachel and shortly after he leaned over and kissed her belly, as if to say: "hello love, dad is back".

That moment only moved Rachel so much it made her cry, all the time.

As soon as she calmed down, he patiently cuddled her and filled her with tender kisses.

"You are beautiful!" he said suddenly, enchanted by the beauty of her wife.

"What are you saying? I'm as big as a balloon, my feet and hands are swollen and I can't do anything, "Rachel retorted angrily, annoyed by her words, even though she just wanted to be sweet.

"You should see yourself as I do," Finn said dreamily.

"Because how do you see me?" she curious she asked, just in that tone used by children.

«I see your rosy cheeks, your eyes sparkle, your beautiful round soft belly and… I see you take on the shape of a pregnant woman. Everything I see drives me crazy and ... believe me I can't wait to be able to prove it again, "Finn confided, making her blush.

Their gaze was complicit and she, to confirm this, drew him to her and kissed him passionately.

Shortly after her confession, Rachel settled comfortably on the sofa and tenderly waited for Finn as every night to dedicate a song to them, although she often joined too.

The doctor told her that her pregnancy would not change her tone, but she could improve it. It had been big news because she was her whole life and she wanted to do it again.

She was afraid and after a few days of trying to preserve her voice she sang; her tone was different, much better than before.

Finn couldn't finish the song because Rachel let out a loud scream that made him panic.

They had rehearsed several times, but you're never ready when it really happens.

Rachel kept her cool as always and once she got Finn back in control, everything was fine.

She took all the necessary that she had prepared days before, then, just like a hero, he picked her up and took her to the car driving towards the hospital calmly: only apparent calm, in reality she was terrified. Rachel meanwhile took small breaths and warned her family and friends with a short message that the expected moment had finally arrived.

Finn had been by her side for hours, always holding her hand and never letting go, even when he hurt from her strong squeeze.

He had the task of cutting the umbilical cord and, despite his imposing stature, his hands were shaking, he was moved.

Rachel never flinched, she did everything the midwife told her, demonstrating once again her strong character in her. Her tears came once she hugged the little bundle in her arms.

It took just one day for all of her family and friends to gather around them.

"Welcome to the world," Finn and Rachel said in unison excitedly.

"Welcome to the world Lily," she announced, looking at Finn happily.

"Welcome to the world Lily Barbra Hudson," he rectified, making Rachel touch her, amazed at the surprise of the middle name he wanted to give her.

"This is your family," they said together, introducing the little girl to all those present who at that moment surrounded them with all their love.

Inevitably, the moment could only end on the notes of a song to the little girl: each of them had a part in which even little Lily participated with a cry to communicate to everyone that she was now there too.

The title itself says a lot, what do you think of the story? Do you like the name our Finchels have chosen? I love it and then how could the name Barbra be missing since she is Rachel's idol ?! This chapter was very tender and sweet to write, even if a tear fell from my face because we could never see it for our Finchel mna especially for our Monchele.

Before the thanks I want to say that the piece of the song is by Jovanotti "E per te" that if you listen to it I think it is made especially for them, for that moment and for the gleeks family especially if they have to welcome a small bundle like our Lily <3.
