Forever Embraced

*Qin Shan POV

As soon as first class ended, I rushed to get food for Song Meng and then met with Wu He to go to the dorm. He was resting when we entered and so I was careful when approaching him.

I felt is forehead and it was burning. I had no idea that vampires could get fevers this badly. Wu He doesn't seem too panicked but I still worry a lot. I then just move down his face and rest my hand on his cheek which is slightly flushed in contrast to the rest of his pale skin. He wakes up.

As soon as his dark eyes meet mine, I tear up. It is all my fault that he is in this situation - despite what he tells me that it isn't. I know in my heart that it is and I do intend to make it up to him.

Wu He leaves the room at some point and I awkwardly ask if he is hungry and he nods. As fast as possible I get the soup from the thermos and hold it out to him. I've never been that good at taking care of people so all my motions are a little bit shaky.

Him attempting to move into a better seated position seems to be pushing his limits so before I know what I am doing, I push his firm chest back onto the bed.

"I-I'll just feed you." I say, a slight blush rising to my cheeks and he looks happy for some reason and nods.

We just sit together in silence but the heat in the room is rising. I'm worried about him but he doesn't seem to be all to worried about himself and its so not fair. It really is my fault that he is like this.

After we finish I get up to go to second class and pull him into a hug. His arms wrap around my waist and I can't help but tell him to get better soon (with the excuse of our art project). His arms give me a sense of security and I am reluctant to leave.

"I-I got to go to second class." I say and even I sound a little bit hesitant to myself.

"Okay ShanShan." he says with a grin. I flush dark red. He just called me ShanShan which is what Huan calls me. I don't think it was intentional to him because he is blushing too a little bit. Before the situation can progress I run out of the room and almost collide with Wu He.

"I'll be going now." I say and Wu He nods with a grin.

After descending down the stairwell I shoot Song Meng a text.

"I'll be seeing you tomorrow Mr. Meng." Calling him by his first name sends a rush down my body and I hit the send button.

"Is that my new nickname?" He asks almost immediately.

"Maybe ;)" I respond and before he has the opportunity to bring anything else up I add

"Make sure you get some rest. Bye!" I hit send and exhale. It looks like my little quip worked because the only reply I get from him is the rolling eyes emoji. I laugh while looking at it making the other students I am passing look up at me.

The rest of the day passes by really slowly. Art class is just boring without Song Meng there. I begin the painting on the canvas and it is turning out beautiful. I snap a picture of the gazebo picture with all of the white flowers. It looks nearly realistic and I can't help but stare at it.

Other kids look over as well. Most of them look surprised by the scene but the effect is that nobody can seem to look away after the first glance. It is truly magical. After this and the revelation that it was Song Meng who helped me create this beautiful - yet incomplete painting, the day goes by much quicker.

In the evening, HuanHuan and I are doing face masks. As they are soaking into our skin she brings up Wu He.

"Hey ShanShan." Uh oh... that tone implies something

"Yes?"

"Should I ask Wu He out?" HuanHuan seems really reluctant and I can't help but burst into laughter

"Do you like him that much?" I say in mock surprise. I really can't help but tease her at this point.

"Y-Yeah I think so." Huan sounds nervous and I can tell just how serious she is.

"Then you do that!" I try to sound as enthusiastic as possible while quelling my own thoughts about Song Meng in my heart. It is about time that I tell him that I love him but I don't want him to think that I am shallow or that I'm just trying to play with him.

"Is there something wrong. It looks like you ate a bunch of sour grapes." Huan is visibly relieved after ending the conflict in her mind

"Nah, it's just that I have a hard exam coming up tomorrow." I lie with a small tremor in my voice and Huan seems to buy it.

"Okay, you go and study." She says and I nod.

Hard exam I wish. I can't tell Huan - anybody yet about my own conflict. The one that is going on in my heart. I think that I really love him but I'm too much of a coward to go and fess up.

'What should I do?'

Will ShanShan get the guts? Or will something else happen first? Who knows :)
