Chapter 19

Yoonjin was seated at his desk, deeply engrossed in his work, his eyes scanning the computer screen intently.

His door suddenly swung open without warning.

He looked up to his surprise and saw Seojun, standing at the entrance with his signature cheeky smile.

'Knock knock…' He's said as he closed the door and walked in.

Yoonjin rolled his eyes and looked down at his computer again.

He was already used to Seojun's coming in before knocking, and he was not offended.

'You know I'm working right?. He said arching his brows but his eyes were still fixed on the computer.

Seojun shrugged and sat on the chair opposite him.

'I know, and I couldn't resist the urge of bugging you, I'm bored out of my mind'. He said and sighed.

Yoonjin chuckled at his cheeky behavior and leaned back on the chair.

'You're always bore Seojun, besides where's Hana'.

'She at school….' Seojun said.

'Should we go out?'. Seojun suggested.

'I'm quite busy right now'. Yoonjin said and stood up from the chair.

Seojun sighed and relaxed his head on his hand.

'I came here to bother you spice up my life, but you fucking busy, it's almost like I'm the only one not serious with my life'.

Yoonjin chuckled and came back to the chair, he handed a cup of cold tea to Seojun.

He looked at Seojun as he continued nagging.

If he wasn't a friend of Seojun, he would never believe Seojun is one of the best surgeons in the world, because of his carefree and goofiness.

'You didn't go to work today?'. He asked and took a sip from his tea.

Seojun shook his head.

'I'm on evening shifts'. He said.

'The family dinner is today right?'. He continued.

Yoonjin nodded.

'I really can't bother you today, I should take my leave then..' Seojun said and stood up from the couch and left the office.

After Seojun had left, Yoonjin returned to his work, his mind still on the conversation they had just had. He shook his head, smiling to himself.

Seojun was always good at distracting him, but he couldn't deny that the conversation had been a welcome break from his work.

He focused his attention back on his computer screen, getting back into the groove of his work.

As he worked, the sound of his fingers tapping on the keyboard filled the room, punctuated by the occasional sound of his pens scratching across paper. He was fully engrossed in his work, his mind completely focused on the task at hand.

'Chae, you have a meeting now'. She heard Yena say.

She raised her head from computer before standing up from her chair.

She took her jacket and wore it and walked out of the office with Yena behind her.

As strode through the hallway to the conference room, exuding confidence and authority.

She tied her hair in a loosed bun before they entered the room.

Her team of employees looked up as she entered and stood up to their feet as they bowed.

She smiled and returned their greetings before taking her sit at the head of the table.

'Good afternoon everyone'. She said, as she carefully surveyed them.

'I hope you are all prepared for this meeting, we have a lot to discuss'. She said with a smile which disappeared almost immediately, as it was time to be serious.

The employees nodded and shuffled through their notebooks, with Chaeyoung looking and waiting for them to settle down before she continued.

'Let's begin'. She said.

'I would like to hear from everyone about updates on their progress from our last meeting'.

She said and leaned back on the chair, waiting for them to speak.

The meeting progressed smoothly, with her listening attentively to what they had to say, as well as offering constructive feedbacks to them.

The meeting continued for hours as everyone kept coming up with different ideas.

Chaeyoung maintained her composure as she listened to them, even when the discussion got heated up at times, she remained calm and collected.

Yena came to her to remind her about her plans which she had totally forgotten about.

Chaeyoung checked her watch and frowned.

She stood up and took her laptop.

'That's all for today, we'll continue tomorrow'. She said and left the room hastily to her office.

Yena quickly packed her materials and followed her to the office.

'I can't believe I totally forgot about it'. She said as they got to the office.

'I wish they could just cancel it'. She thought subconsciously while arranging her looks.

She suddenly remembered the dress Yoonjin had bought.

She had forgotten to bring it with her and there was no time for her to go back home and take the dress, it was already 5:20 and the dinner was starting by 6 sharp.

'Do I look ok?'. She asked Yena who gave her a thumbs up, telling her she look great.

She sighed and quickly rushed outside.

She saw Yoonjin's car outside the building waiting for her, with the driver patiently standing next to it.

She headed towards the car and the driver opened the door as she approached and climbed into the backseat.

As she settled in the car, she quickly checked her looks once again on the mirror, fixing her makeup and arranging her suit.

She knew she was not looking like a blushing bride to be who, since she was still on her business outfit, but that did not make her less prettier.

When she was done, she took her phone from her bag and started going through her mails, just to distract her from her growing anxiety.

She received a text from Yoonjin asking where she was and replied him that she was already on her way.

Few minutes after the ride, the car pulled up in front of an upscale restaurant, she looked out of the window and saw Yoonjin standing outside, looking majestic in his richly tailored three piece suit, as he waited for her.

Chaeyoung bit her lips nervously and took in a deep breath before stepping out of the car.
