Down cast

All the students were in their various classes receiving lectures, an emergency meeting was called and so lecturers left their various classes.

    Suddenly, someone barged into the class and all the student attention was on her. Bianca entered afterwards folding her hands. Her face was bruised and injured due to the beatings Val gave her.

    "Where is that bitch that spoiled my daughter's face,it's you right ..how dare you" she pointed at a lady who just kept on staring at her like she had gone nuts.

    "Mom,it's not her,it's her" she said like a baby  pointing at Val. A third year student is still bringing her mom to fight on her behalf. Such a shameless bitch. Valerie thought, still keeping her cool.

    Bianca's mum walked up to her and raised her hands up to hit Val but something held her hands half way. They looked up and saw Bryan holding her hand.

    "Hey you're still a kid,what's your relationship with her? Release my hands now" she tried to shake her hands off but Bryan power overpowered hers.

    Alexander  came in afterwards and took Val to himself.  Bryan also released her hands.

    "You should be grateful you didn't touch her,you think you have positions and can't rot in jail? You can give it a try" he said angrily and pulled Valerie out. Bryan followed suit.

    Bianca's mom was scared because she knows  what Mr. Blake is capable of. If she had known it was Valerie  Blake,she wouldn't have dared coming to school in the first place.

    A lecturer who knew something was wrong came to the class and greeted Bianca's mom but she just ignored and left with her daughter.

    Bianca got to the car angrily and started receiving notifications.  She decided to check it and the scene she saw made her look again to confirm she wasn't seeing double.

    The video was divided into three parts. The first was when she poured water on Valerie. The second was when she slapped Valerie and the latter beat the living daylights out of her and the third was when she and her mom were ridiculed by Alex. She logged in to WhatsApp and same thing. The video was trending both on Instagram and WhatsApp.  It was also on their platform.  She logged in to instagram to  check their  comments and no single good comment about her.  She tried checking the profile of the person who uploaded  it but couldn't  access it. People who were bold  tagged her. She threw the phone on the foot mat angrily.

    "Damn this poster" she screamed, scaring his mom. The driver just shrugged because he is used to her screaming already. 

    "What's up..did anybody post anything" her mom demanded.

    "Just leave me alone mom,I will figure it out myself" she replied getting pissed off.

    It's the end of the week and everyone is preparing for the debate. Sometimes Bryan comes over to Valerie's house while sometimes it's vice versa.

    "I hope with these important points of mine,I'm able to convince you social media shouldn't  be stopped in our country" Val concluded and the people clapped.

    Bryan is currently in Valerie's room rehearsing their debate. Val was standing up while he was the judge sitting on Valerie's study chair.  She looked back and realised it was Charlotte and Alex that  clapped. She ran and hugged Charlotte while Alex just rolled his eyes.

    "He is jealous again, such a jealous freak" Val whispered and she smiled.

    "I heard that Val..this isn't right give your bro a hug" he frowned. Val laughed and ran into his open arms and he smiled.

    "Hi" Charlotte greeted Bryan.

    "Good day" he said and Val scoffed.  Why does he suddenly act like he is gentle and shy?

    "Bryan, meet my annoying sis,Charlotte and Charlotte meet my best friend Bryan" he said and Charlotte mouthed an Oh.

    "I'm a big fan of you" Bryan said and she smiled.

    "So Charlotte what brought you here?" Val asked.

    "I just came to say hello to you " she smiled.

    "I know you when you're lying Charlotte and I can tell you're telling one right now" Valerie said smiling.

    "Such a witch.. I came to commend you actually" Charlotte said and everyone in the room looked confused.

    "Commend? Commend me for what" she asked looking at Charlotte.

    "For beating the living daylight out of that Bitch called Bianca. I saw the video and I must say you're the best sister ever. I disliked her ever since I saw her slapping a man old enough to be her father" she replied smiling and Val smiled.

    "Seriously?" Alex said, shaking his head and she shrugged.

    "What? At Least I have someone who took after me" Charlotte smiled and he scoffed leaving the room.

    "How have you been?" she asked, sitting on the bed.

    "Good,good and good"

    "You guys seem to be studying, reminding me I need to start studying.  Will get going now,bye" Charlotte  said and left.

    "So Charlotte also studies?" Bryan asked, surprised.

    "Yuck! Same as Xander.  Both are brilliant and not only that..they are competing" Val said.

    "Wow" that was all he could say.

    "It's getting late, tomorrow is the day. I should get going now" Bryan said.

    "Let me see you off'' Valerie said, wearing her flip flops.

    They got to the living room and met courtney.

    "Hi mom, you're back, '' Val said, hugging her.

    "Such a baby" Alex scoffed but she pretended not to hear him.

    "See you in the debate tomorrow, Alexander,"  Val said, smiling.

    Alex and his mom talked less ever since the argument of marriage.

    Bryan greeted Courtney and Alex.

    "You want me to come to your debate amidst the crowds which I hate and sit beside thousands of girls which I also hate? No thank  you"  Alex said and Valerie yawned boredly."coming to get you,let's go Bryan" val said.

    "Bye ma'am, Bye bro" Bryan said and they responded.

    "Alexander?" Courtney called as he was about to climb the stairs.

    "Yes?" He turned back with a furrowed brow.

    "Come sit here, we need to talk," she  said pointing to a couch.

    "About what exactly mom because ..." his mom cut him off again.

    "It's an order not a request" Courtney commanded and he groaned sitting down.

    "I'm all ears," he said, staring at her.

    "I want you to know all that your dad is doing ..." She looked for the right word.

    "My own good, I Know" Alex said and left

    "should I come pick you up tomorrow?" Bryan asked Val when they got outside.

    "Will appreciate that" she said Smiling and he smiled back at her. Val's smile is really contagious. A lot of guys in school wish to ask her out but scared she might be dating Bryan with the way the  both of them behave.

    She waved at him and started to leave.

    "Valerie?" Bryan called and she turned to him.

    "Huh?" val furrowed a brow.

    "Just want to say..erm.. see you in school tomorrow" he stuttered scratching the back of his head and she just nodded and left.

    "Why does it hurt when she calls me her best friend?" Bryan wondered aloud and

    Sighed, then drove off.

    Valerie entered Alex's room without knocking.

    "Courtesy demands you knock before coming in" he said and she rolled her eyes.

    "You're coming right," Val said and glared at him.

    "Not until you close that door, then knock it and I instruct you to come in" he said, focusing on his laptop.

    "Ain't doing that" she folded her arms.

    "Then no answer to that" he replied.

    After much attempt of Val trying her best to change Alex order to no avail, she went out and knocked on his door angrily.

    "Well...the answer is no"

    "Whatever,you better   to the debate Alex, that's if you want peace of mind in these

    house though" Valerie said in a bossy manner.

    "Alright, I will go,"  he said, not ready for Val's craziness.

    "Good boy," Valerie said and ruffled his hair.

    He heaved a  sigh of relief when Valerie left. She is still that same troublesome sister. He thought smiling.

    "Anyway I still love you Alex" she shouted in the hallway and he smiled.

    The three people in Blakes household sat down together in the dining room.

    "I'm happy we are eating together" Valerie said but no one commented. Alexander took the fork ready to dig inside the food but Valerie quickly slapped his hands and he stopped

    "What?" He asked with a furrowed brow.

    "I need to snap this" she said and Alex mouthed an "oh" and relaxed back on the chair.

    "Table manners val" Courtney cautioned and she nodded making it snappy.

    There was silence as they ate quietly.

    "I could still recall those happy memories" she said smiling sadly and they looked at her confusedly. All the memories of her childhood came rushing back to her

    "Mom, do you  still remember those happy memories?" Courtney Kept mute and Val continued.

    "I and Alex were still young then, Dad was one quiet and interesting person. He took us out shopping and skating. We had a lot of fun  but now everything just changed all of a sudden. He is always busy. at work because he now has money. He is always busy travelling, flying from one country to another all the time" she said and sipped from a glass of water.

    "Table manners Valerie!" Their mom cautioned again.

    "Table manners or you're just trying to avoid this conversation, you can call dad to order but you keep on getting scared of him, if you guys keep on treating Alex this way don't blame him when he leaves the house for you guys" Val said and stood up.  When did Val become this bold? Alexander thought. "I'm really grateful val"l he said quietly

    "I lost my appetite,"  Val said and left.

    "Same here," Alexander added and also left. Courtney looked at the food and also stood up.

    What's  the point in eating when her children refuse to eat? She thought. She isn't happy about her husband's behaviour but what can she do?

    "Many things Courtney" her subconscious said but she just sighed.
