It was a huge mansion. Ariel could see it from outside as well but she only realized the truth now. Fortunately, she was good in remembering routes so she should not be finding any difficult to run away as well if she needed to.
"Young Madam, this is Young Master's room."
The maid stopped in front of the door of a room and said to Ariel.
Ariel nodded her head and said a 'thanks' after which the maid left from there.
Ariel then walked to the doors and raised her hand to knock but she stopped when she heard the sound of something falling down, followed by small sounds of sobs.
She frowned as she looked at the closed doors. A moment later, she pushed the door open without caring about anything instead of knocking.
.
.
.
Inside the room, Leon was sitting on the bed. He has covered his face with his hands and his shoulders were shaking slightly while Vista was standing near him with her hand raised in the air.
A broken glass was lying on the floor with its pieces here and there.
On hearing the sudden sound of the door being opened, Vista as well as Leon looked towards the door.
Vista looked at Ariel with narrowed eyes as if unhappy with the way Ariel entered the room. However, Ariel was silently looking at Leon.
His eyes were watery and slightly red, his skin under his tears looked so tender and fresh, his lips and nose were so red. The beauty, even when crying looked so beautiful that it made Ariel take a sharp intake of breath.
She looked away suddenly feeling disgusting with herself.
'That was a child, Ariel... For god sake, stop behaving like this!' Her conscience screamed at her.
Even though not physically, he was a child from mind. He would be scared from the way she stared at him.
On the other hand, Vista's hand which was in the air was now on Leon's cheek, gently cupping them and consoling him.
"Leon, my dear. It's okay. Don't cry anymore about it. Ariel doesn't min whatever happened, right Ariel?"
Vista was now looking at Ariel who looked completely clueless.
Seeing this, Vista spoke up again with a very sweet smile on her lips
"You didn't mind whatever happened at the venue, right?"
Ariel looked at Vista for a few moments silently before she shrugged and said
"Well I did, actually. You see...It's not that everyday I get to marry."
The smile on Vista's lips was completely frozen on hearing these words. Naturally, she had expected that Ariel would go with the flow and say something that would help her handle the situation.
But what she didn't know that this was Ariel she was thinking about!
Ariel didn't do anything according to others wish as long as it was not about money. She smiled in mockery seeing Vista's sweet artificial expression falling off.
Then she looked at her husband who was looking at her silently. His teary grey eyes stared at her making Ariel look away again.
"Aunt, is she my bride?"
She heard Leon asking Vista and looked at the latter.
Vista had composed herself by now but instead of answering Leon's question, she questioned Ariel.
"What are you doing here?"
Ariel shrugged indifferently and leaned against the door staring at Leon again.
"The maid brought me here."
Vista frowned.
"You will not stay here. I will ask Mia to prepare the guest room. You will stay there."
Ariel didn't mind staying in the guest room. Anyways, she was here for six months. However, at this moment what she was enjoying was something else.
After finishing her words, Vista left the room, perhaps to instruct Mia. Unfortunately, she forgot to take Ariel with her. Hence, right now Ariel was unabashedly staring at Leon who sometimes looked here and there and then again at her.
At this moment, he had a deep frown at his forehead. Making an angry face, he stared at Ariel back without blinking just as she did. However, after sometime his eyes seemed to get tired and he had to blink. This only made him more furious and he stared at Ariel more angrily.
"Don't look at me."
He said furiously.
Ariel tsked and looked away. She was getting bored and didn't have anything to do otherwise she was not immature enough to argue with children childishly.
Fortunately, the maid came there and saved Leon from being bullied again. When she introduced herself as Mia, Ariel followed her to the guest room.
She really wanted to get out of the annoying dress she was wearing.
However, once inside the room, she realized that her bag was still inside the car.
"My bag..."
She had just opened her mouth to tell Mia about it when the latter smiled and suddenly pointed towards the bag.
"I have already placed it there, Ma'am."
Ariel looked towards the bed and nodded her head in satisfaction. She smiled back at Mia and then asked
"How long have you been working here for?"
"Six years ma'am."
Ariel nodded her head and after that Mia left, not before telling Ariel to call her if she needed anything.
After Mia left, Ariel looked around the room which was bigger than her hut in the slums. She wondered if only Vista and Leon lived in such a huge mansion. There must be more people, right?
Maybe she is just yet to meet them but she didn't see anyone at the wedding venue also.
She shrugged and took out her clothes to change.
