Five Reasons

Heartbreaks. Tears. Depression. Move on. I make mistakes. I also get sick. I sometimes embarrass myself in front of my classmates. I never answered back to my parents. We live in a normal house, run a small store, and I have a normal love-hate relationship with my younger brother. I'm smart and talented. I easily learn lessons and help my classmates with some of their difficulties. As a matter of fact, I can say that I'm normal. However, things changed when I transferred. My heart raced for a person. The wrong person. The whole world would condemn us if we ever got together. I don't even know if that person would reciprocate my feelings. But I still fell. In the game of love, the first one who fall will lose. And I did. I fell. I fell. And I fell. ~~~ Disclaimer: The events in this story really happened in real life, except for some parts where the main character is not present. But those are supplemented by asking the point of view of those present. Names of the characters are edited to avoid shock and confusion from their perspective. But if they ever found out about this, we will have a long chat. Again, everything in the story is according to the point of view of the main character.

Reason 2: She Is A Very Talented Person (3)

"Hey! Who's good at calligraphy? We need some help with the flags and the banner," Gelu asked, as our class was assigned to handle the banner and flags for the Intramurals.

Gelu herself is great at calligraphy, as I've observed that it's a hobby of hers to write every vacant time of the class.

She's assigned as the coordinator for the banner and flags because of this talent of hers.

I immediately ignored her and the others surrounding the banner and flags. I might be a talent in academics, but my craftsmanship is sub par.

I might love to help them, but my horrendous talent might even destroy their products.

I just focused on calling out to the players of Sepak.

When I gathered them over, we started our training!

"Yes! That's right! The height of your kick is good. Hey you! Kick properly! Oi! Don't kick too much! You might damage school property!" As the coordinator and self proclaimed coach of our grade's Sepak Takraw Girls team, I need to know the ins and outs of the sport.

Of course, I also consulted the experienced Sepak Takraw players of the boys. They already played the sport for two years straight until the administration decided to let the girls play too.

"Coach!" a STEM 3 student approached me.

She's Christy, also a scouted player of MY team. Our classmates recommended her to play the sport, so as a transferee who still did not know other students except that of my class, I agreed.

So far, she's a good player. And besides, I get to make friends with her.

She can be a foothold for me to know more students from STEM 3.

"What is it, Christy?" I asked as I offered her a bottle of water.

She accepted my bottle of water and just spoke after drinking.

"I can't see Blessie train, Coach. Where is she?" she asked.

Oh, right. I almost forgot.

Christy only joined the team because Blessie is her. Apparently, the classmate who recommended Christy to me is Blessie.

Tsk. What's so great about that ice queen?

I asked them to train more while I got look for Blessie.

I'm not trying to avoid training or something! I'm a great player myself, so I guess a change of pace every so often (for example, looking for Blessie) is good.

I last saw Blessie in our classroom, so I immediately went there.

To think about it, Gelu and the others are doing stuff with the banner and flags in the classroom. The room might smell of paint of this continues. They have to do it in open air. People with weak lungs like mine can't handle the smell!

"Blessie? Blessie? Where are you? We have to practice," I called out, hoping that the ice queen would answer my call.

Tsk. No one answered. It looks like I would need to enter the damned (classroom) place.

"Blessie?" I called out, peeking into the classroom that looked like having a fiesta with flags hanging on the ceiling.

The smell of paint is so strong in this place. I might faint if I get exposed to a place like this even for a few minutes. I have to find Blessie and leave!

And there I saw her, surrounded by the others, painting seriously on a flag.

As I covered my nose to get closer, I finally saw a wonderful design of a Paladin in the flag she's doing.

To think of it, this ice queen has talent for the arts.

Her creation is second only to Gelu's. I know that Gelu made it because there are only five of them printing unto the flags while the others helped them with the paint. Each person printing compiled their works in their own corner.

As I observe them more, I noticed that the ice queen is actually left handed!

That's right! Left handed!

I felt my heart beating faster as I noticed this.

She can print and write gracefully with that left hand of hers. Sugoi!

In our past activities, she's always the one writing our final papers. It's not because I'm lazy, but because her handwriting is actually better than mine.

Mine looks like a Grade 1 handwriting, but hers looks like written by a professional.

"Oh, Rae! Sorry about the mess. We are still finishing a few flags. Are you fine? What do you need?" Gelu approached me while wiping some paint off her hands.

"Ah, Gelu. I'm looking for Blessie to practice. The Intramurals is approaching so we need to train our line ups to ensure more points. But it looks like you guys need her here," I said with consideration.

"We're about to finish here, Rae. I'll send her to you later after this. But I suggest that you have her rest first. She's been a great help to us. If not for her, we would need a day more to finish the flags and banner," Gelu said with a smile.

"Ah~ I would love to have that left hand of hers for myself. Such wonderful works of art she had created," I suddenly felt a chill down my spine when I heard Gelu. That's ominous.

Even though I'm not the target for those words, I still felt fear for Blessie.

"She's a talent, right? You're so lucky to be a seatmate of last year's Most Valuable Player, Rae. She even battled to be your seatmate. Of course, I would also love to join the battle of Ivy, Ana, Lisa, Blessie and Marie to be your seatmate, but compared to those behemoths, I had zero chance to be chosen," Gelu said before going drinking a bottle of water and resting on the side.

Battle to be my seatmate huh? That's the third time this week for me to hear about that.

Was it that fierce?

Who am I kidding? It's just to be my seatmate. It can't be that fierce. They're just exaggerating.

*This timeline is after the First Grading Examinations with Rae still absent.*

"We're going to have a change of seats this grading period, ABM. Now let us---" sir Ian hadn't finished his sentence when several students raised their hands

They are Sarai Ivy Mendoza, Analynn Santos, Lisandra Fernandez, Blessie Genevieve Alonzo, and Rose Maryll Sanchez.

"Sir! I would like to be seatmates with Raven Aurelia!" the five students who raised their hands simultaneously said.

They then glared at each other. Sparks are obvious in the air. Even the other students steered clear of the five.

Sir Ian cleared his throat before thinking of a solution for his five students' enthusiasm to be a transferee's seatmate. It's not big of a deal, right?

"How would the five of you want to settle this?" Sir Ian finally relented.

"I should be Rae's seatmate because we would improve together in Mathematics and in Chess. I can also guide her in our school as a student here since Grade 7," Ivy proudly said. She's one of the class's Great Seven, a gathering of seven people with great talents for Mathematics. Rae is also a member of the Great Seven unknowingly.

Ivy is also a chess player, and she loved playing with Rae when she had time.

"Hmph! I knew Rae since Grade 7 from a Regional Camp, so she'll obviously pick me. I'm also a transferee so we would explore this school together," Marie reasoned.

True to her words, the both of them knew each other since Junior High School on a Regional Camp and kept in touch since then.

"I'm a seatmate of Rae and would like to keep it that way. She'll have to adjust to her new seatmate again if one of you is chosen to be her new seatmate. You'll have to pass by me first before you can even dream of snatching my Math assignment maker—I mean, my cutie!" Ana slipped with her words, which made sir Ian immediately cross her name out.

'So she's copying assignments from miss Aurelia, huh? I better report this to ma'am Ismael,' Sir Ian thought.

Little did Ana know that this battle earned her the ire of the ever graceful ma'am Ismael of their Math subject.

"Rae is so attached to me. So it's only right to make me her seatmate," Lisa said with pride.

'Don't you know that you're already on a Distrusted List of Rae's? She's now attached to me,' Jean thought while laughing to herself.

Joana noticed this small action of Jean but just shrugged.

"Heh," this irritating laugh earned the glares of the other four. Who did this? Of course, none other than Blessie.

"You are all so naïve. Rae is a transferee, and she adjusted to the environment of our school pretty well. I'm sure that having a new seatmate would not bother her in the least but would make her more mature and responsible when facing strangers. Rae does not know me, so she'll have to adapt. And it'll also accelerate her social growth," Blessie reasonably explained.

Rae haven't seen this side of Blessie. Blessie is smiling menacingly, even sending chills down sir Ian's spine.

The temperature in the room declined for a few degrees, and the students and teacher had a faint hallucination of a snow covered mountain top.

This change in temperature was emanated by the five glaring students.

In the end, Sir Ian chose Blessie to be Rae's seatmate, even positioning Rae in the corner of their row.

Cold sweats can literally be seen dropping off the foreheads of the poor teacher and other students.

"Whew! That's one fierce battle. Good thing I didn't join. Though it's a pity not to be Rae's seatmate. But I already gained a lot during this grading period. I can't be too greedy," Gelu muttered in a corner.
