Five Reasons

Heartbreaks. Tears. Depression. Move on. I make mistakes. I also get sick. I sometimes embarrass myself in front of my classmates. I never answered back to my parents. We live in a normal house, run a small store, and I have a normal love-hate relationship with my younger brother. I'm smart and talented. I easily learn lessons and help my classmates with some of their difficulties. As a matter of fact, I can say that I'm normal. However, things changed when I transferred. My heart raced for a person. The wrong person. The whole world would condemn us if we ever got together. I don't even know if that person would reciprocate my feelings. But I still fell. In the game of love, the first one who fall will lose. And I did. I fell. I fell. And I fell. ~~~ Disclaimer: The events in this story really happened in real life, except for some parts where the main character is not present. But those are supplemented by asking the point of view of those present. Names of the characters are edited to avoid shock and confusion from their perspective. But if they ever found out about this, we will have a long chat. Again, everything in the story is according to the point of view of the main character.

Reason 2: She Is A Very Talented Person (1)

"Alright class. This activity would be by threes. You are all free to group yourselves," our teacher said and left us to our own machinations.

I immediately tried to look for a group mate to avoid the ice queen by my side.

As I was trying to sneak out from her encirclement, she suddenly held me by my collar.

"Hey! Stop it! You'll stretch the collar of my uniform," I wailed, wronged by her inconsiderate attitude.

"You'll be grouping with me," she said with utmost indifference.

Hmmp! Don't kid with me! I knew that you only asked sir Ian to be seatmates with you because I'm good at Math! You're using me! (No kidding. I recently found out that they had a fierce battle to determine who will be my seatmate. And the reason is mainly because I'm good at Math.)

"Antoinette, want to be part of the group?" she suddenly called to her other seatmate, Antoinette. The thin girl fixed her high grade glasses before nodding.

Antoinette is a very tall girl, probably the tallest in the room rivaling even the tallest of the boys. She's super quiet, and she'll only answer if asked. She's very active in class discussions, and the words coming out of her mouth usually makes my nose bleed. For me, she's a total nerd who loves reading books. She's in another whole level above me. Everyone in the room respects her opinions, as they are mostly unbiased and contain a lot of wisdom.

To think of it, it looks like Blessie really planned everything from the start. She fought to be my seatmate, as I'm good at Math. (Again, I'm not bragging cause it's true.)

And her other seatmate is the walking library of the class.

She's living the best of her student life!

Anyways, we submitted our form to our teacher to be formally recognized as a group.

Ma'am Ismael took one more look at our names written on the paper before raising an eyebrow.

"Planned?" she whispered, which I clearly heard!

You are correct with your assumptions, ma'am! She planned this!

She didn't took too long before she acknowledged our group.

We then began to discuss the subject of our activity.

Although I don't want to butt heads with Antoinette as I'll definitely be bruised from a brutal beating, I have to stomach it, else I lose face as a Mathematical genius! (Definitely not bragging.)

"What formula is best suited to be used for this equation? This one or this one?" Antoinette asked as I gave my opinion.

"This one should be the correct one. The given in the equation corresponds to this formula correctly, and it does not need to be simplified anymore," I said as I showed them my computation.

Antoinette shook her head as she also explained her part. She said that mine is incorrect because one part is missing from the given.

And this is why I don't like butting heads with her! We would never agree with one formula!

The tension in the air suddenly grew. Even the nearby groups tried to get away as far as possible.

But then, the tension suddenly disappeared.

"We'll use this one," Blessie pointed at one formula that was hidden among the bunch of formulas we wrote in our notes.

Antoinette and I compared the formula with the given equation, and we became silent.

We stared at each other for a few seconds before using the said formula for the equation without saying anything.

It looks like it pissed Blessie off because we suddenly felt chills up our backs.

I swallowed my indignation and gave her a fake smile.

"T-that's great, Blessie! Looks like you can now stop depending on us in Mathematics. We'll just finish this activity and hope that we never remember this discussion," I smiled as Antoinette even nodded in agreement. (Our genius brains would never bow down!)

Blessie sighed deeply as she let us go. The both of us secretly gave a sigh of relief, as the ice queen chose to ignore us.

We ended up with full marks in the activity, and I became more familiar with Antoinette.

And I discovered something great about her

!

She also loves watching animes!

Aside from being the walking library, Antoinette now has a new nickname. The walking anime collection!

At first, I thought that her laptop is full of book collections that she reads during lunch.

But then, I saw her watching a familiar anime series in her laptop so I tried to get a free watch in her laptop too.

After the episode of the anime ended, we discussed about the plot of the anime, our favorite characters, and other gossips about the release of a new season!

I asked her if I can have a copy of an anime series, and she proudly showed me her collection!

Imagine this, she have a separate hard drive full of her collection of anime series and movies!

For me then, it was heaven!

Since then, whenever a new episode aired, we would ask Antoinette if she have a copy.

Blessie seemed jealous as Antoinette and I grew closer to each other. After all, what separates the both of us from discussing anime even during class is her! She's a great obstacle to our communication!

"Can we change seats, Blessie? Antoinette and I have to talk about the recent gossip about our favorite anime series," I said and disregarded the irritated Blessie.

Nothing can stop me from my animes! Even the ice queen seatmate of mine!

"You better lessen your interaction with Antoinette, Rae," she coldly warned.

"Your grades will not improve, and will still be lower than mine if this continues," I felt inexplicable chills when she mentioned about my grades.

Yup. She have higher grades than me.

And although my parents didn't make a fuss about my grades, they still scolded me about the subject where I got a line of eight.

Hmmph!

So what if your Academics is better than mine? I'm still a Mathematical genius!

And I am not bragging.

I miss Antoinette now. She have copies of any anime series we can think of. Truly fitting with her title of being the walking anime library!
