When the sun finally went down, we didn't eat right away; instead we strolled for a little more. We weren't hungry yet.

Turning around, we found ourselves at the back of the resort where only trees could be seen.

The gentle breeze blowing here was clear; I couldn't feel the cold despite the clothes I was wearing.

That air was fresh because of the trees around it.

We found a piece of tree bark lying on the dirty ground.

We sat there.

We also spent a few minutes laughing. When it was late, we decided to eat so that we could go back to our respective rooms and rest.

Our feet were only a few steps away when I was distracted by a strange crack.

I ignored that at first, but I finally stopped when I realized that what I was hearing was no longer just a crackle.

A sob.

Sobbing from a child

I frowned as I reflected on the darkened part where there were many trees and the moon was barely visible.

I turned to my companions and realized I wasn't the only one stunned.

"Did you guys... hear that?" I asked.

Their foreheads were also furrowed and they nodded several times at me in response.

"Someone's crying, right?" Lily said, more like, asked an obvious question.

No one spilled on us.

Both are aware of their surroundings.

That sob was never repeated. A few seconds before we could hear anything, we just shrugged it off.

Just when we were about to leave, we heard a louder sob.

It was here that we finally turned our attention back to where we came from.

Not far away, there is a girl crawling on this dirty ground, while behind it there is a big snake.

My eyes widened.

Without hesitation, I ran between the girl and me.

I picked up some rocks and wood.

When I reached the boy's place, I threw a stone at the snake. They did the same to Lily, who I never thought would follow me.

We repeatedly stoned the snake.

But even if it was hit, we still didn't feel like driving it away.

Eventually, we ran out of things to fight for. We all looked at each other, and then we were nervous.

The snake is slowly approaching us.

And we're left with no other choice.

"Run!" I shouted.

We quickly ran away from the snake that was now quickly crawling after us.

I hold the little girl's hand.

My companions are also shouting. We entered the more crowded part, and I think we were in a forest.

I never thought of that. The only thing on my mind now was to run and run to avoid the snake that could bite us at any time if it caught up with us.

"Ah!"

I stopped running for a moment when the boy I was leading fell, causing me to let go of his hand.

"Oh, gosh." I uttered. I quickly turned the child over to help him stand up.
