I visibly reached for the cellphone that was under the pillow. I scrolled it up with my eyes closed. How many times did I do that until I answered the call?

"Hello?"

"Hello, sis?" My eyes opened automatically when I heard my brother's voice.

"How are you there?"

I got up and arranged a seat. "Ronald! I thought you were not going to give me a call. "

"Why wouldn't I? I'm sorry, aya. My brother has been busy lately. But, here I am, calling my sister. How's your vacation?" He asked.

"Everything's fine, brother. You don't have to worry about me, silly. I'm not a kid anymore. "

My brother and I talked on the phone for about a few minutes until we said goodbye because we still needed a meeting after lunch break.

Speaking of lunch,

I immediately fixed it. Camila's arrangement of my hair and face hasn't been ruined yet, so I just let it go. I ordered food because I'm not in the mood to go down and eat somewhere else.

Maybe I'll just invite the girls to have lunch with me.

I sent a text to Camilla, inviting them to lunch. They said earlier in the room that they would also eat. Camilla agreed, saying she'd take Lily with her.

Unfortunately, Abi and Francine went down first, so they couldn't get along. Hmm, I guess we really grew fond of those two.

Well, I find it fine to have new friends.

At least I'll have company during this short vacation.

Camilla and Lily arrived exactly minutes before the arrival of the packed lunch I ordered at room service.

Carrying their respective meals, the two entered loudly.

We set up a table for the three of us. We didn't even bother to climb the table and just used the bedside table in my room.

We put some things in bed first so that the food could be put away properly.

We happily ate our lunch while talking about random things. Like, for example, what if there's really a parallel universe? And etcetera.

After finishing lunch, the two of them went out to take a bath.

I did the same too.

I was kind of tired from the long walk a while ago, so I decided to take a rest this afternoon.

I fell asleep after Camilla and Lily left.

The two let me know that our new friends were going. I granted them permission, though it's not really needed.

We're not at work. I don't get the point of asking for my permission to leave. I already told them to treat this as their vacation.

Not as a bonus, just because Mom told them to look after me. I'd appreciate it if they could rest for at least the few days we'll be here.

It was afternoon when I woke up. When I looked at the wristwatch, it was 3:37 p.m. I closed my eyes to let myself wake up fully. When the spirit finally awoke, I hurriedly got up again to wash and change my clothes again.

Good thing Mom reminded me to bring more clothes.

I haven't argued yet.

She knows very well that I get irritated every time my back sweats as well as whenever I feel like my clothes are dirty.

After taking a bath, I chose to wear the beige Gucci criss-cross back strap dress that Mom bought me weeks ago.

When I was satisfied with the powder and lip tint I put on my face, I left the room with my cellphone and purse.
