The man attacked Emma, initially just to scare her, but when the girl dodged his knife easily, the thug leader became irritated. He started to attack her with all his might.
Marci who was watching from behind the stall was worried when she saw the thug took out his long knife and attacked Emma aggressively. She wanted to come out of their hiding, but Xion quickly tugged on her shirt and shook his head.
"Don't. She can handle them," he said.
"How do you know so much about her?" Marci turned to Xion and crossed her arms on her chest. "She is my junior in school and I quite like her. If anything happened to her, I cannot forgive myself for leaving."
Xion stared at Marci intently. "You like her? That's new. You don't like people."
Marci wanted to laugh when she heard Xion's words. "So? You also don't like people, yet you seem to like her too."
"I don't like her, okay?" Xion looked annoyed.
