Day 1

It's Monday morning. I wake up by hearing the sound of my irritating alarm. "Huh!! I don't wanna wake up" cause I am sleeping peacefully and so comfortably you know that feeling right? I turn around and around in my bed. "Ugh!!!" I fell onto my bed.

"Today is not my day, God!!"

By the way, I'm sorry for not Introducing myself. Hi, my name is Nia. I am a high school student. I am an introvert. I don't have many friends. And I have a friend whose name is Emma. My parents are tired of me because I am not good at studying, studying is not my thing. I am so insecure about myself.

I get off the floor and go to the bathroom and freshen up and get ready for school.

Today the senior high school is starting and I hope today is a good day for me.

After getting ready I went downstairs. I saw my mom cooking breakfast and my dad reading the newspaper.

"Everyone! breakfast is ready." My mom announced.

My sister came downstairs and her name is Lia. A college student. She is not like me because she looks beautiful with her fair skin, even though she is good at studying and she is like a best friend to me.

"From today onwards you're a senior high school student". My dad started talking to me. My mom serves food for us. Lia eats the food while scrolling on her mobile. Then my dad continued " So you should study harder than before. Don't score marks like before. You are always careless about your studies. If you don't score good marks in your finals you won't be admitted to any college. So you should study hard."

"I will..." I replied to him.

After having breakfast I went to school. I am waiting for the bus.

I looked up at the sky 'Woah! The sky is so clear. Perfect weather.'

The bus is here. After 30 minutes of traveling here comes my school. I get off the bus and start walking toward the school without looking around.

I heard that someone is calling from behind. "Nia!! Nia!! Nia!!"

I turn back 'oh it's my friend Emma'.

"Emma!"

"Nia, are you deaf I am calling you from the bus stop... huh!"

"Oh! I'm so sorry dear I didn't hear you."

Then we start walking towards our class. And we go to our seats. After 5 minutes the bell rang and everyone in the class sat in their seats. I am sitting alone from the very beginning onward no one is sitting near me, not even Emma.

Then the teacher enters the class, everyone stands up to greet him.

"Good Morning Sir " in a chorus.

"Good Morning! " he replied.

"I am your class teacher for this year and I hope we will get along with you guys. This year is very important in your life, you have to work hard and you have to score good marks."

"And today we have a new student for our class"

'What!? A new student?'

At first, I thought it was a girl. But no I am wrong it's a boy, a handsome one.

When he enters the classroom all the girls start whispering "Oh he is so cute and handsome". Oh, I can't deny that.

Then the teacher welcomed him and asked him to introduce himself. Everyone is eager to hear his voice.

"Hello everyone. I am Harry." He said with a deep voice Woah!

I love his voice. Then he looked at me. I just looked down 'oh there's something on the ground', because I was staring at him all the time.

The teacher asked him to sit near me because that is the only seat in the class where no one is sitting. 'Oh no! I don't want anyone to sit near me. I want to be alone.'

Then he came and sat near me. And I say 'Hi' to him, because I don't want to be rude and he said "Hello" in his soft and deep voice.

"I'm Nia" I whispered again.

"I am Harry" he also whispered.

Oh, I like this feeling. What is Nia doing? He was just being nice to you because he is new. When he gets new friends he will also leave you like others.

Then we concentrate on our class. After a few minutes, the bell rang. 'Woah! Finally, it's over then I lie on the table.

All the girls just came near our seats and introduced themselves to this handsome guy.

He just said 'Hi' to them and didn't give much attention to them. Then they left. Nobody is there in the class. Only me and him. I just stared out the window. Then it feels like someone is staring at me. Then I look and then our eyes meet each other. Then he asked me "Why are you here? Aren't you going out with your friends?"

"Ahem! No! I don't have friends ". I smiled at him.

He looked at me surprisingly.

I smiled awkwardly. Then he looked outside the window and then looked at me and said "Let's be friends. Shall we?" I know why he is asking like this because he is new and wants to be friends until he finds friends.

"Oh sure," I said with a smile. He smiled back. He is so cute when he smiles. *Smirk in mind* Oh shit! what I am thinking.

We were silent for a few minutes. And try to break it but here comes the prettiest girl in our class, her name Sherlyn.

"Hi Harry" she sounded different in a cheesy way. I looked at her and then she rolled her eyes. What did I ever do to you? huh! this girl.

"Hi," he said awkwardly.

"Harry you're new in this school so.. shall I take you for a tour?"

"No thanks. My friend will take me to". He said without any hesitation. Woah bro that was a headshot and who is his friend he is new here. Then who is he mentioning as a friend? I am so confused as well as Sherlyn.

"You just came this morning, how did you make friends so fast and who is your friend?" she asked curiously.

I am curious to know who the friend he was talking about is. Then he looked at me and I looked at him with a curious face. Then he looked at her and said,

"She is a new friend" Sherlyn starts laughing and I am sitting there with a shocked expression.

He was confused by her reaction. I power my head as she starts laughing. He noticed that.

"Why are you laughing?" He asked. She tries to control herself and starts speaking.

"Who wants a friend like her?" Again she started laughing.

He looked at me and I showed a small smile to him.

"Well I want to be," he said while looking at me and I was in shock.

God! I'm I dreaming or what?

"Excuse me" she was confused with what he just said.

"I said I want a friend like her."

She threw a disgusted look. Then she walked away irritatedly. I just looked at him, then he looked at me and smiled. I smiled back. I have no idea what is happening. After a few minutes, the bell rang for the next period.

It's been 15 minutes since the teacher started teaching. Everyone looked so bored in her class. Then I looked at Harry and what he was doing. He was yawning. Haha, cute. I giggled quietly. But he noticed that.

"Why are you laughing?" He whispered.

"Nothing!". I smiled.

Finally, the period is over. As our teacher walked away I started doing some stretching while yawning. He heard someone laughing at me. I look at the person, it's Harry.

"Why are you laughing?" I asked him the same way he did.

He laughed again and said "Nothing".

We laughed at each other. And then he spoke up.

"It's a lunch break, let's go and have lunch together." I just didn't know what to do so I just nodded to him.

As we walked out of class a girl from our class approached us and stood in front of us.

"Harry, let's have lunch together," she said.

"I would love to but I promise my friend that we will have lunch together so...."

Before he finished I cut the conversation.

"It's okay Harry you go have lunch with her we can go some other time," I said as I smiled at him.

He was about to say something

"Then let's go, Harry, please!" She is so cute.

Her name is Tina. He can't deny her. He looked at me and I assured him with a smile. I saw them walk away.

I sighed and walked toward the cafeteria. I saw them sitting together. After picking up a plate of food, I stand in the middle of the cafeteria and search for an empty seat. Then I take an empty seat and walk towards it. I was stopped by someone calling me from the right side of me. I turn to see the owner of the voice. It's Harry waving at me and asking me to sit beside him. Then I look at Tina who has an annoyed look.

"I'm okay here, you guys carry on," I said as they could hear.

I sat on that empty seat and started eating while scrolling through my mobile. While eating I feel that someone is watching me. I saw Harry was checking then and now. I just continued eating.

After finishing my food I came out of the cafeteria and went to the terrace of the building. I love the view from there. Students are not supposed to be here but I sneak out sometime. Because here I feel peace.

It's about to ring. So I go to my class. Harry was already in his place. Then I went and sat near him.

"Where were you?" He asked by looking into his hands.

I lean towards him.

"Secret!" And giggled.

He placed the bottle of juice in front of me. I looked at him. He looked at me and said

"I am so sorry I just left because of her."

"No... No... No... Don't be sorry. That's fine." I said with a reassuring smile.

"You sit alone even when you are eating?" I nodded in response.

"I promise I won't ignore or leave you alone because of anyone or in any situation. I promise."

I was shocked by what he just said.

"What?"

"I said I won't leave you or ignore you for anyone or in any situation." I just nodded even if I was confused.

The class is over. I start packing my bag. Harry stands in his place.

"Let's go!" He said. I said okay.

We walked out of the class and saw Tina coming toward us.

"Let's go, Harry," she said.

"No. I am going with her. Bye." Then he just walked with me.

I didn't dare to look at her but I can say that she is angry. I sighed and walked beside him. We reached the bus stop. We are going in the same direction. But I have to go a few more stops again from here.

Then the bus arrives and we get on the bus. There is only one seat left, he asked me to sit on it. Then I took my earphones and started hearing music. And I look at it sometimes. Because standing in front of me. And we met. I smiled awkwardly. Then he approaches me. So I removed the earphone from my ear.

"On the next stop, I have to get down. Nice to meet you, my dear friend. Bye-bye."

"Nice to meet you too Mr. Harry. Bye. See you tomorrow."

He waved and got down from the bus and again he started waving. Ohh I feel so happy.

After a few minutes, I got off the bus and started walking towards my house still with the earphones. I enjoyed walking while listening to songs.

After 20 minutes I reached home and I saw my mom sitting on the sofa and watching her favorite series.

"I'm home," I announced.

"How was your day dear?" She asked me without even a glance at me.

"Yeah! Good!" I said excitedly.

She was shocked and happy at the same time.

"Go fresh up and come down. I prepared your favorite food."

I nodded happily and went to my room and freshened up and came down and sat at the dining table. My mom serves me my favorite food and then the door opens revealing my sister and my mom asks her to join us.

She came and took the chair next to me. Then she put her hands on my plate. I glared at her. She showed me a kissing face.

"Eww" I looked disgusted.

Then my dad came and sat in front of me. I sat silently and had my food, I didn't even dare to look at him.

"How was your day?" I was stunned by what he just said.

Because he didn't talk to me like this.

"Good," I said politely. He hummed in response.

After finishing dinner I went to my room and did my homework. It's very little homework because it was the first day. So I finished it and went to bed early. Then I start thinking about what happened today.

Oh! Today is the best day of my life. I finally had a friend. Who won't ignore or leave me for someone? I smiled then this thought came and interpreted my happiness.

'Is he nice to me because he was new to the school? Will he leave me and start ignoring me like others.' Stop it, Nia. You're overthinking! Then I smiled again and closed my eyes.

After a few minutes, I fell asleep.
