As with the previous location, the reception area in the lobby outside of Dr. Heather's office was vacant of any life. The occasional roar of a vehicle and rhythmic taps of the footsteps of the few people passing by the glass double-doors were the only things that could be heard because the women had not exchanged even a single word after they concluded the appointment.

They reached the door, the Benz rounding a corner before it came to a halt by the sidewalk, the engine still running. Histoire clutched her small bag and turned her hand in both directions down the sidewalk.

"I promised Jotham I would have dinner with him after the appointment," she told Ines, who had stepped forward and waited by the door for the chauffeur to hurry and open it for her.

"I don't expect you want to walk about in the city on your own at this time of the day-"
