Fiend

3147 years. That was the deal, the amount of years I'd be enslaved for. 3147 years as an immortal slave forced to walk the earth, tricking innocent people into making deals, their souls as the binding ink in dark contracts. The things I've seen, things I've been force to endure can only be forgotten because of the fiend's love for dark humor and... idiots. Yes 'her' love for idiots... I wish I wasn't so stupid...

Lined with envy.

"Now which part of you do I cut first?" She asked with a smile. She closed the distance and brought the knife close over my heart. I immediately brought my hand up and grabbed hers, she didn't seem bothered by this and soon after I understood. Fighting against her was like trying to move a boulder three times your own size with only your hands. And this wasn't because of my inability to exert any force, she was strong. Freakishly strong, and I couldn't move her back an inch. Not that my efforts even seemed to bother her.

She smiled at my futile attempts to stop her, slowly she pressed the tip of the knife into me.

Slowly.

I couldn't cry out, couldn't breathe the knife seemed hotter than anything i ever felt and just when I thought it couldn't get any worst all my energy started to dissapear and As I faded I could see how exhilarating killing me was to her.

She pulled out the knife and "hmmn, I think, i think I just came."

Her voiced seemed displaced her words delayed. She sucked in a breath of air, tilted her head back hugging herself and relished it slowly releasing.

"You, won't get... away with thi-"She placed a finger on my lips "don't worry I won't let you die just yet I will however keep my promise to you and kill that girl." She smiled wickedly.

I reached out to grab hold of her, I couldn't let it end like this. She grabbed my arm and the last thing I saw before the blackness enveloped me was her baring very sharp teeth and plunging them into my arm.

She bit me.

I opened my eyes unsure of what had happened before, unsure of the exact moment I actually regained consciousness. Only aware of the carnage which greeted my wake. Human remains and viscera decorated the walls and floor.

"What?" I stood slowly and did a complete turn. The sight I saw was enough to make anyone puke I was sure of it. However there I stood untaxed by any of it.

Shock.

I placed my steps and edged out the room and in to the hall. Everything here was dead and for the life of me I couldn't understand why I remembered none of it.

The florescent light bathed the hall with rapid successions of light and darkness and as I listened closer I could hear singing, soft, eerie  and if I didn't take the time to listen I could've just mistaken it for a tune from the radio carried over the light breeze from a distance.

It was entrancing and against my better judgement I decided to seek out the source.

~-oh where have all the gold gone

my sanity and love, dreaded for you this sweet song of eternity's doom and wrought crimson stains, love oh love, my sweet sweet love kill me with your arms, take my breath and take my all my sweet sweet red, love oh love take me away-~.

The voice kept repeating the same confusing lines, the sad song uninterrupted and soft.

The voice echoed as I made my way though the dark towards the source.

My feet leaving red footprints on the white floor as I walked unhindered stepping in pools of blood and over eviscerated corpses. This song, why did it feel so familiar?

As the voice grew more audible and it bore a trait, something about the voice warmed my heart. I rounded the corner and stared into the operating theater. It's doors fully opened operating table and equipment over turned or pushed to the back and on the ground sat, a beautiful woman, her eyes enchanting and sorrowful. She wore a white dress almost like a wedding gown save for the lack of most of the dress. It's torn pieces surrounding her as she stroked the head resting on her lap. Clutching a knife in her left hand bloody and wet like the hair of the dismembered head nestled on her lap .

She looked up at me slowly "Eric." She sighed Her auburn hair long and gracefully pulled over her left shoulder.

"Eric I'm sorry, but I can't hold it back anymore."

She let the head roll from her lap falling to the ground with a sickening thud.

My heart started to ache and I clutched it falling to my knees.

She stood before me now. "Do you remember the time when you took my hand to seal the contract?"

"Do you remember what happened when we kissed?"

My heart burned and it was all I could do to fall to the floor my hand pulling at my shirt.

"I was always afraid that if I showed my feelings it would void our contract," she looked down at me, "the backlash you're feeling right now is the result of me voiding our contract, the pain will fade soon."

She knelt by me and placed her finger on my cheek, wiping a thin layer of blood before continuing.

"You poor, poor thing, having to suffer so long because of our contract."

She eyed me over.

"Do you know?" She smiled "I've loved you since our hands touched that day."

"W..what is this?!" I asked my frustration peeking growing stronger over the throbbing pain in my chest which slowly faded.

" I'd explain but there's no time, I'll take your immortality and the target on your back."

She smiled a bit.

"This is the last time you'll see me and

I'm sorry, I can't do anything about your memories." She wiped a tear drop from her face, "this is all I can do to save you." She stood, "goodbye."
